Discover two vibrant Mediterranean countries on one exciting vacation. Begin in Rome with two overnights and guided sightseeing that visits the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Next, follow the coastline of the Tyrrhenian Sea to marvel at Pisa’s Leaning Tower. Then spend two nights in Tuscany with Florence, “Cradle of the Renaissance,” and join the included walking tour of the historical center. In Verona, see Juliet’s famous balcony; in Venice, enjoy a canal boat ride to St. Mark’s Square and marvel at the elaborate architecture. In Ancona, board an overnight ferry to Greece. Visit Olympia and the impressive Mycenae archaeological site, and see the Corinth Canal. Conclude your journey with a stay in Athens, where the Acropolis is a highlight of the included sightseeing tour.
Day 1: Arrive in Rome, Italy.
Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore Italy’s ancient capital. Tonight, meet your Tour Director and fellow travelers.
Day 2: Rome.
Included sightseeing with a Local Guide starts in St. Peter’s Square, followed by a visit to the Roman Forum and the mighty Colosseum. (B)
Day 3: Rome–Pisa–Florence Area.
Vistas of undulating hills, austere rows of cypress trees, terraced vineyards, olive groves, and rural villages form the backdrop of your journey through beautiful Tuscany. Take a break in Pisa to see the Square of Miracles and the amazing Leaning Tower, then on to the Florence area. End the day by joining the optional Tuscan dinner in a typical restaurant. (B)
Day 4: Florence.
This Renaissance gem and city of the Medicis will keep you enthralled the entire day. Traffic is banned in part of the historic center so visitors can wander at leisure and admire the city’s timeless beauty in relative peace and quiet. Don’t miss out on the included walking tour with a Local Guide, which features most of the city highlights. You will see Piazza Santa Croce; beautiful Piazza Signoria; Palazzo Vecchio and its courtyard; Loggia dei Lanzi; and, to top it all, Piazza del Duomo and its cathedral with the Giotto Campanile, and the magnificent East Door of the Baptistry, known as the “Gate of Paradise.” (B,D)
Day 5: Florence Area–Verona–Venice Area.
An interesting journey today northwards for a first stop in enchanting Verona to see the legendary balcony from Romeo and Juliet. Just a few more miles eastwards to Venice. (B)
Day 6: Venice.
Venice is more like a marvelous film set than a real live city, with its criss-crossing canals, gondolas and water buses, arched bridges, palaces, and quiet little piazzas. The included orientation starts with a boat ride and is followed by time at leisure and a chance to watch Venetian glassblowers fashion their delicate objects as they did centuries ago. Don’t miss out on the optional gondola trip, gliding along the picturesque canals with a local troubadour to serenade you. (B,D)
Day 7: Venice Area–Ravenna–Ancona (Embarkation)–Overnight Ferry Crossing To Patras, Greece.

This Spain, Portugal, Morocco tour is a terrific value. Our tour guide is an impressive historian, complete professional, and beautifully organized. He and the driver made our tour a brilliant journey.
Another excellent trip with Cosmos!!
Was a great tour, but be prepared for a fairly busy pace. You have independent time so research what you would like to do to make the most of it. Don't be afraid to use public transportation if you want to explore on your own, it was very easy. I recommend the optional dinner in Prague, the palace in Vienna, and definitely the Danube cruise in Budapest.
It was my first Cosmos Tour and I was a very much happy traveller with the experience . The tour director and bus tour driver were very helpful professionals.
Our tour director was excellent! She was on top of everything and very helpful when needed. She was an encyclopedia of information. We would love to have her as a tour director again. One note: We lost our camera at Bath. When we reported it to our tour director, she called immediately back to the Cosmos head office. With their diligent help, our camera was waiting for us at the end of the trip - with all of our pictures and memories. The itinerary was superb! We were sorry we did not have more days, and decided that next time we will book more. The bus driver was unbelievable the way he could handle the bus. He always found the best spots for drop off/pick up. We have never felt so safe with a driver. The hotels, stops for meals, rooms, shopping, extra tour events were very well planned and rounded the trip out nicely. We will definitely refer Cosmos and Affordable Tours to friends and family. One suggestion: Optional name tags for everyone. We had a really good tour group; a lot of us are staying in touch after the trip. It just took us a while to get to know each other and remember names. Name tags would have helped.
The trip only had 16 people which was nice, but surprised it wasn't canceled. Worst accommodation was Kyriad Center in Nevers. Accommodation in Paris was good. There was time to attend Mass 5 days of the 10 day trip. You didn't feel rushed on this trip.
My husband and I had a wonderful time on the New England Traditions tour. The experience well exceeded our expectations. New England fall foliage was really beautiful. On this tour we also learned so much about American history. We visited several museums, and visited some historic sites as well. Group travel is a very inexpensive way to see and enjoy places.
The day to day itinerary on the Cosmos Alpine Adventure Tour was great. There was a good balance of activity with plenty to do at a reasonable pace. The scenery was outstanding, picture-postcard quality every day all day long.
A memorable and educational cultural experience on this Cuba trip.
The COSMOS tour to Scandinavia was very good, though with three countries in 12 days, some days were a bit rushed. Also, several others, as well as myself, would have liked to have more time in some places and less in others, but generally, all things considered, the timing worked well, and the tour covered beautiful countries. The guide and the bus driver were superb, and they helped make the tour a success. The guide did a good job of community building, which lead to a happy and collegial group of travelers. I would suggest that name tags, at least at first, would be helpful.
My husband and I had a wonderful time :-) we will strongly recommend this tour to our friends and family.
My sister and I have booked many tours here and abroad with Cosmos and Globus and have enjoyed every single one. The tour directors are very solicitous and expert at their jobs. The guides are always informative and professional. Hotels are comfortable and the tours themselves are a bargain for all that is offered: positive experiences in new places, comfortable lodging, and well thought-out itineraries. Thank you for always making sure our tours are culturally enriching and memorable!
I believe the hotels were four star, but for the reduced cost, we got what we paid for. The hotels located away from the major cities were the very best in our estimation. Our tour guide was Serbian, and was very helpful and accommodating, but I believe a Scandinavian tour guide in Scandinavia could have given us a better insight into the locale. We had to take an unexpected detour from the itinerary route due to a change in one of the ferry's schedules, but our guide handled it very well, and personally, I think the detour was better than the planned route. The coach and driver were excellent. It seemed like a lot of driving from one place to another, but perhaps that is simply our age catching up to us. Our airline flights worked out fine. Their was one glitch in having a one hour delay in leaving Cleveland, but with a five hour layover in Toronto, it all worked out just fine. All in all, Scandinavia was a very good experience. My wife, who does not like to travel, even liked it.
This trip is very good. Will book another one with Cosmos. Thank you .
The tour was excellent. The information provided about the places visited was ovevwhelming. The knowledge of the tour director regarding the sites visited was commendable. The tour was well organized, interesting, safe but felt too short. The tour director provides many tips during the trip that are valuable. The only item that I felt can be improved is in providing explanatory maps of the places to be visited before going there so that the tourist can orient themselves at the new place easily. The tour director often gives directions to various places before reaching there, but remembering all those instructions becomes difficult. But, if a small instruction sheet with a map is given before reaching each place, it would be easier to comprehend the instructions easily.
