From San Francisco's steep streets to mountains that touch the clouds, from verdant forests, pristine Lake Tahoe, and a corner of Sacramento that time forgot, California is a feast for the eyes.
Day One - Arrive in San Francisco
Claimed by many to be the most beautiful city in America, San Francisco plays host to your first two nights in California. Meet your Tour Manager at 6:00 p.m. who will be able to recommend places to dine this evening.
Day Two - Sightseeing in San Francisco
Begin with a guided city tour including a ride on one of San Francisco’s delightful cable cars. Then, cross the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito where you can browse the shops. In the afternoon we board a bay cruise, the best way to see San Francisco. Take your own photo shots of the beautiful skyline, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. Tonight we dine on Fisherman’s Wharf as we watch the sun set across the water. (B,D)
Day Three - Yosemite National Park
Today we travel through the rambling hills of the San Joaquin Valley and begin our ascent into the Sierra Nevada Mountains for our next destination, Yosemite National Park. This is sacred land to Native Americans, a gold mine to prospectors and the favorite backdrop for photographer Ansel Adams. Our Yosemite adventure begins with a narrated tour of Mariposa Grove, the home of the Giant Sequoia trees. (D)
Day Four - Yosemite Touring
This morning we take a guided tour to feel the grandeur of this natural treasure. Visit Yosemite Falls and the one-mile-thick granite mountain El Capitan. This afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Yosemite including the Valley Visitor Center, the Indian Village, Ansel Adam’s gallery or just relax and take in the sights and smells of mountain pine and blooming flowers. (B)
Day Five - Sierra Nevada Range
Today we travel through the beautiful High Sierras with their rugged mountains and lush forests on our way to Lake Tahoe. The largest and second deepest Alpine lake in North America, Lake Tahoe is one of America’s favorite natural attractions. Lake Tahoe boasts casinos and great entertainment for evening fun. (B,D)
Day Six - Lake Tahoe
Touring Spectacular mountains, breathtaking forests and sparkling clear waters await along what has been called one of the “most scenic drives in the USA.” This afternoon we view the scenery from the water as we cruise the turquoise waters of Lake Tahoe. View castles and mansions tucked between inlets and picturesque points. (B)
Day Seven - California’s Wine Country
Travel back toward the coast and arrive at Sacramento, California’s state capital, steeped in western history. We continue our day in California’s wine country and visit the Sonoma area surrounded by rolling valleys and hundreds of vineyards. We visit the B.R. Cohn Winery where you can learn, taste and take back home your favorite wines. (B,D)

This was a trip of a lifetime. Some thought could be given to the scheduling of secondary events such as the Reagan Library and the Getty Museum. Getty needs much more time, Reagan can do with less.
We were never put on the official tour list that came with our welcome package. The hotel where we started the tour at did not have our names on the official tour list provided to them, and as a result, did not have a room reserved for us. The tour director and our driver were professional, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable, and had great personalities.
The seven wonders of Oregon, very good sights, lots of bus rides, some of which were very long.
Just wanted to say our tour guide did a great job. If we had any free time she was always fiinding more things to do that was extra. She really does her job well. When and if I take another one I would certainly do a tour with her. Our driver was great also. Just amazing how he handles that bus.
A great tour.
Decided bus trips are not really our preferred mode of travel. A few issues with hotels, timing of tours/meals etc. Maybe 48 is too large a group. Was on a tour before with bus and cruise portions but only 28 travels and was much more pleasant.
Mayflower does a nice job.
the tour was great. tour manager and driver were excellent..we wasted time in custer park viewing bison. we would have liked more time at crazy horse. overall a pleasant trip. thanks for a great trip..keep us in mind for a trip to israel next year
We had a wonderful vacation thanks to Affordable Tours and Mayflower Tours.
