We travel often and usually handle the details myself. But Japan and China were a bit scary - Language mainly. Our flights were on time and we were met at the airports and baggage handling was outstanding. On arrival at our first hotel in Tokyo an envelope was waiting for us with all the details and arrangements for the first 6 days in Japan. Tours were outstanding and the guides were even better. It was a pleasant trip only two couples but were part of a larger bus tour that picked up at several other hotels.. Always arriving on time for pick up. When we were transferred from hotel to Tokyo station for bullet train to Kyoto the representative accompanied us right to the platform. Good thing as it was changed from original number. Probably would have been a big mix up due to language. BUT it was not and every thing smooth. Beijing was so exciting. A bit of a mix up with the pick up at the airport. There were so many drivers waiting for pick up rides, over 150 it was hard to spot our driver. After about 20 minutes they found us, Again very professional and courteous. The tour guide in Beijing was super outstanding. Not only with the sites but suggesting restrooms locations that were clean and offering an option for lunch, His knowledge of the sites was wonderful and even better he knew the short cuts for little waiting and avoiding HUGE crowds. There were only three couples with our guide so the smallness was wonderful. Upon our pick up to the airport in Beijing our guide accompanied us for the ride at 5:15 am. as we parted he had a special gift for my wife. A rubber stamp with her name and three Chinese characters with a stone dog on the top for the year she was born. My wife told him it was better than any other souvenir we had purchased. This was a wonderful trip and a value for the cost as every detail was included and handled smoothly.
Our tour was booked with Pacific Delight and it was WONDERFUL! Connections, flights, tour guides, hotels, itinerary... everything was just perfect! Even the weather was perfect. I'd recommend both companies very highly.
Our trip to China exceeded our expectations in every way.
