Day 1: Arrive in Scottsdale.
Welcome to sunny Scottsdale! At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.
Day 2: Scottsdale–Sedona–Grand Canyon National Park.
This morning, depart from Scottsdale and travel north through cactus-studded scenery for a break in Sedona, “Arizona’s Scenic Sensation.” Take an exhilarating 4x4 JEEP TOUR to the top of Mogollon Rim, where you can admire the majestic rock formations and rugged lowland desert. Then, set out for one of America’s most beautiful drives as you journey through Oak Creek Canyon, home to brilliantly hued cliffs and rugged spires of sandstone. Arrive this afternoon at the GRAND CANYON, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The spectacular beauty of this famous attraction draws more than 5 million visitors a year from around the globe. This evening, be sure to watch the spectacular sunset. (B,D)
SPECIAL FEATURE: Your hotel is located near the rim of the Grand Canyon, a rare opportunity for great views and a significant extra when traveling with Globus.
Due to construction, there are road closures from May 26-July 4 (approximately), and it will not be possible to travel through Oak Creek Canyon. An alternative route will be taken.
Day 3: Grand Canyon National Park.
Today, set out to explore the Grand Canyon and learn about its geology and how the canyon was carved. Take scenic Hermit Road, with stops along the way revealing extraordinary views of the deep inner gorge and numerous red buttes and ravines. This afternoon you are free to explore at your own pace. Perhaps venture down part of Bright Angel Trail or take a nature walk with a ranger to learn about the region’s native flora and fauna. (B)
Day 4: Grand Canyon National Park–Monument Valley–Lake Powell.
If you missed the sunset, sunrise is just as impressive! After breakfast, your Tour Director will suggest optional flightseeing over the Grand Canyon—definitely the thrill of a lifetime. Then, head to MONUMENT VALLEY NAVAJO TRIBAL PARK , where the weathering action of wind and water has carved the famous sandstone spires and towers that rise hundreds of feet above the valley floor. Enjoy a [LF] 4-WHEEL-DRIVE TOUR of Monument Valley with a knowledgeable Navajo guide who shares their culture and how it is influenced by the area. Explore the area’s oddly shaped red sandstone monoliths, buttes, and mesas—the setting for some of John Ford’s most memorable films. On to Lake Powell for a 2-night stay, with free time to relax and take in the natural beauty of your surroundings. (B,D)
Day 5: Lake Powell.
This morning is free to enjoy time on Lake Powell, where sparkling blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls and sandy beaches. The majestic beauty of this vast manmade lake can be appreciated on the afternoon CRUISE. See gigantic Glen Canyon Dam and the “tapestry” walls of Antelope Canyon. Free time later for a leisurely stroll along Wahweap Marina on the shores of Lake Powell. (B)
Day 6: Lake Powell–Bryce Canyon National Park–Zion National Park.
Depart from the splendid views of Lake Powell and head for Utah’s BRYCE CANYON. Drive through the park, with photo stops to capture the magnificent contrasts of bright red, yellow, and pink pillars called “hoodoos.” Years of erosion have carved colorful sandstone into thousands of spires, arches, and mazes for an unforgettable sight. Next, see nearby ZION NATIONAL PARK, a spectacle of massive stone formations whose colors change with the light of the day and the season. To the Mormon pioneers, it was a haven of beauty resembling natural temples and cathedrals, and they called it “Little Zion.” (B,D)
Day 7: Zion National Park–Las Vegas.
Tour Zion Canyon this morning before continuing to Las Vegas for an orientation tour of one of America’s most popular vacation destinations. Your resort hotel is located in the heart of the “Strip” for easy access to all the mega-casinos and amusement parks. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner. (B,D)

this was by far an exceptional experience...everything was top rate, especially our tour director. Since Globus no longer gives out name tags at the beginning of the tour, he put our names above our seats on the bus, which gave us a unique way to learn peoples' names. Only complaint is that there was not enough time available on the last day to explore Zion.
The rooms at the Yavapai Lodge in the Grand Canyon were antiquated and dark. The food provided at breakfast was terrible, cold scrambled eggs , a cold pancake, cardboard tasting potatoes. The other accommodations were very nice. Our guide far exceeded our expectations and our driver was the best driver we could have hoped for. Together they made the perfect team.
Tour was wonderful. EXCEPT for The Rainbow Room Restaurant at Lake Powell Resorts. Since dinner was included in out tour we received the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. After ordering dinner, we waited over 1 1/2 hours for our food to arrive. During this time we never saw our server. One of the guests at our table ordered a soft drink and did not receivd it until after an hour and a half when our dinners arrived. Our concerns were met with sarcasm by restaurant management. The manager offered to buy us a round of drinks. We ordered our drinks and were still charged for them. The manager was nowhere to be found when it was time to pay our check. all in all, there is not a rating low enough to give to the Rainbow Room. Guests who were paying for their dinners were treated cordially and their meals arrived in a timely fashion. I raelize that The Rainbow Room must be "The Only Game In Town" but Globus should use their buying power to get this mess straightened out. Horrible, horrible experience. Many other guests had the same experience!
This was our first escorted tour and we thought it was a wonderful experience. It was jam packed with great experiences but allowed for optional excursions. Our helicopter ride to Tower Butte in Page, Az was spectacular.
This trip offered more then the package advertised. The tour director and bus driver were very professional. We had a great experience and really enjoyed the trip.
ALLl was great and very helpful. Globus far exceeded my expectations.
this was the first tour I ever went on and would do a tour again. our tour director was wonderful. much nicer than if I drove myself as he gave us such knowledge. they knew where to go, where to have bathroom breaks and where to eat. they were very organized. I always knew what was going on. the bus was new and very comfortable.
Our trip exceeded our expectations. We had a fabulous trip and would recommend Affordable Tours and Globus to anyone.
Everything about the tour was excellent. The agent was extremely helpful to us since we never had been on a tour like this before. Even when I scratched my head and thought "this can't be true", he was right on the money. The Globus people were as good as he said they would be. Our every need was addressed and we had a wonderful time.
