The itinerary was absolutely within my expectations.
Everything that was stated came true but it was even better then what I expected.
Everything was great in my trip to New Zealand's southern island, the scenery was certainly stunning! I had a good time, all the fellow travelers in the tour was very nice and friendly, and I have found some new friends there! New Zealand is a new country where air is very clean and people are honest and trustworthy welcoming tourists as well as foreigners with open arms. Next time I'd like to go back and see the Northern island of the country.
It's a trip worth taking, but not at all up to the descriptions provided by most travelers. So don't think your socks are going to get knocked off by the scenery seen from the train or the dizzying bridge heights. Maybe I'm jaded because I live in Wash. State and I've taken the Empire Builder (Amtrak) & the Rocky Mountaineer (Canada Rail). So, this trip had some "nice" scenery, and it was interesting to do some real switchbacks, but as for the train portion overall: "meh". Hard to get good camera shots if not on right side of train or unless you camped out (to the detriment of others) on the right side of the in-between sections of the train cars. The train condition was good, the restrooms were clean, and the food was OK. The accommodations on the trip were nice to very-nice, as was the food. You have to realize this is Mexico however -- if you're expecting USA quality throughout then you're going to be one of the complainers the rest of us have to put up with. The hotel on the rim of the canyon was especially nice, with incredible views. The tram ride (into the canyon) was also very scenic. Between the two, it made the trip very worthwhile. The Casas Grandes (Paquime) stop was also very interesting if you like archaeological stuff. Those two things (the canyon stay) & Paquime were kinda the only two things worth seeing on the trip. Not that the rest of it wasn't worth seeing at all -- it was. But those were really the only two stops of significance in my opinion. I'm glad I crossed this trip off my list, but I would not do it again nor recommend it except with the above caveats. This was my first trip with Trafalgar (I've done many other bus tours with other companies). I would recommend them, putting them on the same level as Globus.
Truly professional Tour Director and drivers made the tour memorable. Trafalgar always arrange first class hotel rooms.
The Trafalgar tour guide wasn\'t good as those we had in the past. The itinerary was a bit rushed, covering too great a distance in a short time.
I thought both Affordable Tours and Trafalgar did a great job. Would definitely travel with Trafalgar again and would definitely use Affordable Tours again.
It was an awesome, organized, educational and a fun trip from Trafalgar. Folks were great. Thank you to our travel director who took care of the group\'s need and our driver for keeping us safe. It went beyond my expectation. Thank you!
We have taken 2 trips with Trafalgar (Greece last year and Britain this year) and they have been great. A good value.
Great tour director and driver. The whole trip is worry free and very enjoyable. The nine day trip covered everything I expected and more.
Hotels were 4 stars, rooms were clean and big, breakfasts and dinners that provided with package were excellent, tour director and bus driver both were friendly and professional both made our trip a memorable once.
We all had fun as tour director made it possible for us to be free and express our thought. She was catalyst in making things happen. Bus driver was very good and drove so well we did not feel any motion. he was jovial and friendly. Kept bus very clean.
This was our first experience with bus tours, but it will not be our last. The trip provided an excellent cross section of the area, history and people. The guide and driver were excellent and very knowledgeable. The main accommodations and meals were far beyond our expectations. Overall it was an outstanding experience and value.
Fabulous trip to Hawaii.
My husband and I are very happy with the trip around the island. The sceneries of the mountains, glaciers, lagoons, waterfalls, lava and rock formations are captivating. The island is extremely clean. We have never breathed any air so fresh and pollutant-free in our lives until we visited Iceland. The Icelanders are very friendly and hardworking. We even saw young girls carry luggage of hotel guests to make extra money. The country also seems crime-free and we felt safe throughout our trip. To our surprise and convenience, we did not need Icelandic Krona while traveling in Iceland since credit cards are accepted everywhere in Iceland. The only downside of the trip is that food is very expensive but the quality of the food in general is good.
