Start and end your vacation in Boston with overnights also in Bar Harbor, Fredericton, Digby, Halifax, Baddeck, Charlottetown, St. Andrew's by-the-Sea, and Rockland. Breathtaking scenery awaits you on this tour through Maine and Eastern Canada. In Maine, visit Acadia National Park, home to rugged coasts and the tallest mountain on the US Atlantic coast. In Nova Scotia, spend time in the fishing village of Digby, with breathtaking beauty and views; stop at Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; visit Peggy's Cove, a charming fishing village with a famous lighthouse (one of the world's most photographed places); and take the scenic Marine Drive from Halifax along the Atlantic shoreline through picturesque fishing villages. On Cape Breton Island, drive along the world-famous Cabot Trail, named one of the world’s most scenic drives, and visit Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where the mountains and sea meet. Visit Prince Edward Island National Park, famous for its red cliffs, wind-sculpted dunes, and sandy beaches. In New Brunswick, visit Fundy National Park, with the world's highest tides, rugged coastline, and waterfalls, and enjoy a guided visit of the Hopewell Rocks, famous formations carved by the Bay of Fundy with dramatic tides rising more than 50 feet. Throughout this Maine and Eastern Canada tour, Globus has arranged fun and unique experiences for you. For example, enjoy a private demonstration by a local fisherman who will explain the importance of the Digby scallop. See a typical fisherman’s house from the early 1900s when you visit the Fisherman’s Life Museum, and enjoy a traditional lobster bake in Bar Harbor. All of this and more awaits you on this spectacular tour!

Day 1: ARRIVE IN BOSTON.
Welcome to “Bean Town.” At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.

Day 2: BOSTON–PORTLAND–BAR HARBOR.
From Massachusetts, head north via New Hampshire’s shoreline and along Maine’s rocky coast to Portland, one of New England’s most famous cities. Stroll down the cobblestone streets of Portland’s famous Old Port Exchange, lined with many boutiques, coffee houses, and art galleries. Spend the night in Bar Harbor, Maine’s oldest summer resort. Your dinner this evening is a traditional [LF] LOBSTER BAKE featuring Maine lobster, steamed mussels, and delicious corn-on-the-cob. (B,D)

Day 3: BAR HARBOR–ACADIA NATIONAL PARK–FREDERICTON.
Nowhere along the Atlantic seaboard is the rock-bound coast as picturesque as in ACADIA NATIONAL PARK, one of America’s most visited national parks. Take the scenic park road and enjoy the spectacular panorama from the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the first place in the continental United States to see the sunrise. After time at leisure in Bar Harbor, travel across the border to the capital of New Brunswick, Fredericton. Tonight, explore this culturally rich community by dining in the Historic Garrison District or strolling the St. John River along the Riverfront Trail and across the Railway Bridge. (B)

Day 4: FREDERICTON–SAINT JOHN–DIGBY.
This morning, return to the coast to Saint John and board a FERRY to Digby, a popular summer resort. Your hotel tonight is the Digby Pines Resort, a world of casual elegance in the tradition of the grand hotels. Surrounded by breathtaking beauty, you will have an opportunity to enjoy the views, recreation, and internationally-renowned cuisine in this Norman-style chateau. Before dinner, take part in a [LF] private DEMONSTRATION by a local fisherman who will explain the importance of the Digby scallop and introduce you to Nova Scotian music. Later, dinner is included at the resort. (B,D)

Day 5: DIGBY–LUNENBURG–PEGGY’S COVE–HALIFAX.
Today, travel toward Nova Scotia’s Atlantic coast and follow the winding shoreline to Lunenburg, one of the continent’s major fishing ports and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, visit the FISHERIES MUSEUM before heading to Peggy’s Cove, a charming fishing village with a famous lighthouse perched on a massive granite ledge (one of the most photographed places in the world). End in Halifax, the provincial capital and your home for the next two nights. (B)

Day 6: HALIFAX.
Your city sightseeing tour with a Local Guide this morning includes a visit to CITADEL HILL with its early 19th-century star-shaped fort; the tree-shaded walks of the public gardens; and the harbor area, which evokes the port’s former strategic importance. You’ll also see the Fairview Cemetery, final resting place for more than 100 people who perished on the ill-fated voyage of the Titanic. (B)

Day 7: HALIFAX–JEDDORE OYSTER POND–BADDECK.
Take the scenic Marine Drive north along the Atlantic shoreline through picturesque fishing villages, stopping en route in Jeddore Oyster Pond at [LF] FISHERMAN’S LIFE MUSEUM, a typical Nova Scotia fisherman’s house from the early 1900s. Via Canso Causeway, cross over to Cape Breton Island, one of the first footholds of European settlement in the New World. Continue to Baddeck. (B,D)

Day 8: BADDECK. CABOT TRAIL.
Today, drive along the CABOT TRAIL, the area explored by John Cabot in the late 15th century, while savoring magnificent vistas of the rocky shoreline and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Enjoy a [LF] PICNIC LUNCH while admiring the scenery. Finally, see CAPE BRETON HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK at the northern tip of the island, a landscape that strikingly resembles Scottish coastal regions. Return to Baddeck for a TASTING of delicious Nova Scotian wines. (B,L)

Day 9: BADDECK–CARIBOU–CHARLOTTETOWN.
This morning, visit the ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MUSEUM with exhibits tracing the achievements of the great inventor who spent the last years of his life on Cape Breton. Afterwards, head back to the peninsula and continue north to Caribou, where a FERRY whisks you across the Northumberland Strait to Prince Edward Island. For the next two nights, explore Charlottetown, the provincial capital. Get acquainted with this colonial town on a stroll through colorful Great George Street and along the restored waterfront. (B)

Day 10: CHARLOTTETOWN.
Enjoy your morning at leisure. Enjoy a guided afternoon tour of the island that includes PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND NATIONAL PARK. Also, visit GREEN GABLES farmhouse, the setting for the famous novel Anne of Green Gables. (B)

Day 11: CHARLOTTETOWN–FUNDY NATIONAL PARK–ST. ANDREWS BY-THE-SEA.
Today, travel across the 8-mile Confederation Bridge returning to New Brunswick. Here, enjoy a guided visit of the HOPEWELL ROCKS, giant formations carved by the Bay of Fundy’s dramatic tides that rise and fall more than 50 feet each day, before driving through FUNDY NATIONAL PARK. Tonight, stay at the historic Algonquin Resort, overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay. This evening, you may choose to visit the resort’s manicured gardens or the rooftop patio. (B)

Day 12: ST. ANDREWS BY-THE-SEA–ROCKLAND.
This morning, enjoy a tour of St. Andrews, one of New Brunswick’s oldest and most distinctive settlements. Then journey through old-growth forest and across sheltered coves to quiet fishing villages along the way to Rockland. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner. Wonderful conversation and cuisine make the perfect finale for your vacation. (B,D)

Good tour director and a great driver. Good travel group from US, UK,NZ and Australia. A fun trip.

We spent most of our time on the bus. It was very tiring. I looked forward to this trip for years and wanted my wife to really enjoy it. Both of us were very disappointed. The breakfast were terrible, the accommodations were average, and some people on the tour were inconsiderate. It was hard enough to see from the bus but people still pulled their shades down to make it harder. There were few "Wow" experiences. We couldn't wait to get home. We switched our flight to a non-stop, costing us over $1000. I planned on doing the foliage trip next year. My wife wants nothing to do with another guided bus tour. I'm never so negative but we were very disappointed considering the price of the tour and flight.

Good trip, a lot of bus riding on this one - many miles to cover

Bus not luxury bus. Would have preferred a non smoking tour. Too long a time on bus. More time in some places. Tour exhausting Peter, tour director was fabulous. Bus driver John was great too.

Globus Maritimes Adventure is a great way to see the most desirable locations in this region in the least amount of time. From the coastal towns to the US and Canada National Parks, we definitely had a chance to see how people live and work in the Maritimes. Great scenery, friendly people, and lots of opportunity to enjoy the local featured meal of lobster. Our Tour Director was top notch and added greatly to the value of the experience.

Another great experience with Globus. Director and bus driver were wonderful.

We've now taken 22 Globus tours, and all have been delightful experiences. We\'ve never been disappointed in even the smallest way with all tours. Tour Directors have consistently delivered high-quality presentations during the tour and have always addressed any concerns in a professional and timely manner, no matter how minor. Coach drivers are, similarly, professional in all respects, especially in their safe driving habits and concern for passenger safety. They work with the Tour Director and hotel personnel to ensure baggage handling is up to the standard we've come to expect from Globus. Globus is a 1st class tour operator, and I've recommended their tours to friends, family, and anyone who's even casually interested. And I can do so with confidence.

The tour was everything we hoped it would be. Sights were grand, many were just like the catalog described. Also, we had a couple of extras that were not listed in the itinerary that were awesome. We saw up close and personal many more lighthouses than expected. The accommodations were mostly excellent (there were a couple of one-nighters that weren't).

Because it was late in the season the harbor sailboat cruise was not available in Halifax, and Sherbrooke Village was closed. As it turned out, it rained those days so it would not have been good for outside activities anyway and we found other things to do. Our tour guide was very good and everything went very smoothly.

The Globus Maritimes Adventure tour was excellent. We really saw the 3 provinces and all interesting sites. Beautiful views of coves and little fishing villages. I learned a lot.

The Globus tour had two changes from what was initially offered. In Boston our hotel was changed to the Sheraton Boston. This seemed comparable to what was initially offered. In St. Andrews, NB, our hotel was changed because the Algonquin was still undergoing renovations. We liked the St. Andrews Inn & Suites because of the location and the room was satisfactory. We had to go to another hotel for our meals but Globus offered us a ride to that location via the bus or we could walk. The two Optional items were not available because of the time of the year (being Fall and not summer). The dinner cruise on the paddlewheel boat in Halifax could have experienced fog at this time of the year and so Globus decided not to offer this. The Anne of Green Gables musical was still playing in Charlottetown but not on the nights we were there, again, due to the time of the year. Globus bought our lunch three additional times to compensate us for these changes. We were highly satisfied with this!

The Globus Canadian Maritimes tour was excellent. The tour followed the itineray exactly, and the tour was most enjoyable. The agent at Affordable Tours was an excellent agent with which to work, and she is an asset to your company.
