Marvel at premier natural wonders on this multi-state vacation that focuses on some of the West’s most scenic national parks. This National Parks tour starts in Denver and ends in Las Vegas. In between, you’ll visit Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park. From spectacular rock formations and deep canyons to sparkling waterfalls, geysers, and lakes, you’ll see a wide variety of breathtaking natural treasures. In South Dakota, visit Crazy Horse Memorial, built to honor the famous Sioux Indian leader; incomparable Mount Rushmore; and Deadwood, once a lawless gold-mining town. In Wyoming, stay two nights inside Yellowstone National Park and see magnificent views of Yellowstone Canyon, Lower Falls, and world-famous Old Faithful Geyser. Yellowstone has the largest concentration of mammals in the lower 48 states, so have your camera ready for wildlife such as bison, elk, and pronghorn. Journey into breathtaking Grand Teton National Park—home to 13,770-foot-high ridges—for a delightful stroll along glacier-fed Jenny Lake.More stunning scenery awaits you in Utah, where you'll visit Bryce Canyon National Park. You'll be amazed at the bright red, yellow, and pink pillars called "hoodoos." Zion National Park is home to canyons sculpted over millions of years and soaring cliffs resembling temples and cathedrals. In Arizona, enjoy Lake Powell and overnight in Grand Canyon National Park, giving you an amazing opportunity to see breathtaking views and to take an evening stroll to marvel at the dramatic sunset. If you miss the sunset, sunrise is also spectacular! This value-minded, National Parks tour offers all of this and much more—including time in the Wild West town of Jackson, Wyoming. Just wait until you see the awe-inspiring scenery!

Day 1: DENVER.
Welcome to Denver, the “Mile High City,” capital of Colorado and gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Your Tour Director is on hand late this afternoon to answer any questions.

Depart Denver and travel north to Cheyenne, capital of Wyoming. Then, on through the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, immortalized in a famous song from the musical Calamity Jane, to the historic frontier town of Custer. Overnight in Keystone.

Visit CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL, a monument carved out of a mountain that pays respect to the great Native American hero, Chief Crazy Horse. Drive deep into the Black Hills, through what was Sioux Indian territory, to see the stunning granite faces of MOUNT RUSHMORE, a giant monument to four great American presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt. On to Deadwood, a lawless frontier town during the 1876 Gold Rush, where Jack McCall murdered Wild Bill Hickok during a poker game. Overnight here, and discover Deadwood’s Wild West ways as you walk in the footsteps of legends like Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock.

This morning, head through high country, where open-range cattle kings made war on the homesteaders in the 1890s. Drive past Sheridan and then ascend into the alpine region of the Bighorn Mountains, and site of the Battle of Tongue River. Overnight in Buffalo Bill’s frontier town of Cody. (B)

Proceed through Shoshone National Forest to YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK. Travel along Grand Loop Road to Artist Point for views of the Lower Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Overnight in Yellowstone National Park.

Accommodations used by Cosmos in Yellowstone National Park are typically open from late May through late September. Departures before or after these opening dates will stay in West Yellowstone.

Routing and areas visited in Yellowstone National Park are always subject to favorable weather, gate access, and road conditions; therefore, routings may be adjusted.

Today, explore more of America’s first national park by returning to visit the geyser basins with bubbling mud paint pots and the reliable “blow” of Old Faithful. In addition to superb mountain scenery, the park is one of the world’s principal wildlife preserves and a photographer’s paradise.

Head south into magnificent GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, one of America’s last preserves of wild solitude. Its 13,770-foot-high ridges are crested with snow most of the year. Stroll along the shores of beautiful glacier-fed Jenny Lake before ending the day in the Wild West town of Jackson. This evening, join an optional barbecue cookout and Wild West show.

The day is free in Jackson to explore the shops and museums of historic downtown. Overnight in Alpine located on the banks of the Snake River.

Today, travel to Salt Lake City, Utah’s vibrant capital. Set on the edge of Great Salt Lake Desert, this center of the Mormon religion is where Brigham Young declared to his followers, “This is the place.” An included sightseeing tour offers a glimpse of Temple Square, the Capitol Building, and the downtown area. (B)

Journey through sagebrush landscape to BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK with its 20 miles of sandstone cliffs and ever-changing colors. See some of Earth’s most brilliant shades of rock, sculpted by nature into pillars called “hoodoos.” (B)

First stop today is ZION NATIONAL PARK with its landscape carved over millions of years by rushing streams. Steep canyons, stone towers, and verdant vegetation form the scenery of Zion. Then, head east into Page on the shores of Lake Powell, originally built to house workers during the construction of the massive Glen Canyon Dam, which holds back the waters of 186-mile-long Lake Powell. (CB)

Enjoy an optional flight over scenic Monument Valley. Then, cross the Painted Desert and head through Kaibab National Forest before arriving at GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK in the early afternoon. Marvel at one of the Natural Wonders of the World as you experience amazing views. You’ll have plenty of time to do some viewing before dusk, as your accommodation is inside the National Park.

For a once-in-a-lifetime thrill, take an optional helicopter flightseeing trip over the Grand Canyon, with incomparable views of flame-colored walls plunging 6,093 feet into the Colorado River. Leaving the high country of Arizona, we pass through Williams on famous Route 66, and then the old Mojave gold-strike country, which still has traces of century-old ghost towns. Arrive in downtown Las Vegas—a neon desert oasis with spectacular hotels and casinos and the popular Fremont Street Expereince.

Day 14: LAS VEGAS.
Your vacation ends this morning. You can extend vacation with extra nights and explore “Sin City” further.

This was a great tour where you can really experience the beauty and splendor of the western National Parks. We loved it!

Our guide was very professional and our bus driver outstanding. Our driver was courteous, always polite and very helpful getting on and off the bus.

Everything was to my expectations and more. Especially the tour guide: knowledgeable, precise (time wise) and considerate.

Cosmos provided an exceptional tour buide and driver. Some of the lunch stops were substandard - grocery stores and fast food.

We enjoyed a lot. Our tour director was so good, very clear on the instructions and although we were bumped out at best western ruby inn, he was able to get us best western brian head. We had free dinner and free brkfast at this place and the place was so beautiful. Love the experience with Cosmos.

Our Tour Director was informative, well-organized, and very friendly but professional.

More breakfasts should be included with such a busy itinerary.

The whole family: 2 grandmothers ( our second time to take this tour), 2 grandchildren, age 16 and 10 ( their first escorted tour experience), and their parents and my 2 girlfriends enjoyed this tour very much. The itinerary was great, the tour director and tour driver were very good, and our tour group was fun!

The guide was courteous to us but there were times that he was short and discourteous to others on the trip. There was no real effort to bring the group of over 50 together and no opening meeting to meet others, receive an overview or begin to meet others on the trip

I like cosmos but this trips guide did not meet my expectations.

One hotel was below the standard for Cosmos.

I was very pleased with this tour.

We were very pleased with our trip out west with Cosmos. Our tour director and coach driver were excellent and very knowledgeable. We are currently recommending Cosmos and Affordable Tours to our friends. We will definitely travel again this year!!!

The tour guide and driver definitely made this amazing trip even more memorable. Our guide was funny, supportive, attentive and knowledgeable. She made the tour stops very interesting with her narratives. The driver was a safe and courteous driver. He is obviously a very experienced professional. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and it met all of my expectations and more.

Our Tour director was an exceptional pleasure. Our Bus was brand new with an experienced and careful driver. Our return home from Las Vegas was on a brand new United 737-800 air craft. What could be better?

The tour director on the bus was just fantastic. He provided complete and detailed information at all points to make the trip an outstanding history lesson along with the wonderful visuals. It could not have been better, Many thanks..

The itinerary provided by the tour company was not concise; for example, on day 2 it says "depart Denver and travel north to Cheyenne (it didn\'t say that we would only spend 15 minutes there for a "photo shoot" at the Capital Bldg"; on day 4 it says "on to Buffalo.......Sheridan, sites of battles" (I don't remember either town so we either drove through them or they were rest stops). There was just too much to see in the little time we had but the itinerary didn\'t help in the pre-vacation planning stages. We could have foregone spending one & a half days in Jackson since the only thing to do there was visit gift shops and spent more time at Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Tatanka, etc. The bus driver was excellant in handling the bus and the way he treated the passengers. The director made it clear on the first day that he was a "tour director" and not a "tour guide"; I didn\'t even realize that there was a difference. He was somewhat knowledgeable about the sights but I expected more. The majority of the hotels were clean & comfortable; in one of them, the carpeting was stained and looked like it could use a good cleaning. I think that I would have been willing to spend a little more to have gotten a little more since I will probably never see those sights again in my lifetime.

The only accommodations I wasn't thrilled with was the Holiday Inn in Cody, Wyoming. The room (cabin) was small, otherwise, all the hotels were just fine. The other thing was the optional tour of cruising on Lake Powell. It was not worth the money we paid for it.

Based on experience in booking this trip with Affordable Tour, was very exciting and educational. This trip was very exciting especially seeing the bears and buffalos. The Staff at Affordable was great, they showed a genuine interest in my need, confident and knowledgeable and all the above. In all respect I really enjoyed ever moment.

We will definitely book another bus tour. Our tour guide was friendly and very informative. Our bus driver was one of the best. It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken. The bus tour is the way to travel to see all the national parks. I would recommend it to my friends.

The trip far exceeded our expectations. Our tour director and driver were very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. It was a wonderful experience and we will not hesitate to book another trip. It's the only way to travel. We learned so much more and did so much more than we would have if we had driven ourselves.
