Discover Colombia, a corner of South America that is once again becoming a must-see destination. On a nine-day adventure, spend two nights at a traditional hacienda on a working coffee farm, ride the famous hillside escalators of Medellín — a city that's evolved tremendously from its notorious past — and wander the cobblestoned streets of historic Cartagena. Get to Colombia before the rest of the world catches on.

Day 1: Bogotá
Arrive at any time. Arrival transfer included.
Transport: Settle in and scan the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle.
Activity: The adventure begins tonight. Feel free to explore before your welcome meeting, but make sure you're back in time to meet the group. Check for the meeting time on the welcome note at the hotel. After introductions, your CEO will review the details of your tour. Please note that normal check-in times apply at our start hotels, but you can usually store your luggage for the day if you arrive early.

Day 2: Bogotá/Armenia
Catch a flight to Armenia where we immerse ourselves in coffee culture by staying two nights at a traditional hacienda on a working coffee farm. Spend the afternoon with a coffee expert tasting and exploring elements that inspire coffee production including earth, water, fauna, flora, sun, and shade.
Transport: Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... yup, it is a plane, actually.

Activity: Spend the night in a traditional hacienda (Spanish for "estate") and get a closer look at life in Colombia's beautiful coffee region.
Activity: Immerse yourself into coffee culture, staying two nights at a traditional hacienda on a working coffee farm. Spend the afternoon with a coffee expert exploring elements that inspire coffee production including earth, water, fauna, flora, sun, and shade. This hands-on experience allows us insight into why Colombian coffee is considered some of the best in the world and why it is an intrical part of the culture of this region. And of course, a tasting of the various brews, round out our day.

Day 3: Armenia
Enjoy a full day excursion to Salento including a hike through the Cocora Valley. Enjoy some free time to visit shops and the village.
Activity: Visit Salento, a charming town typical to Colombia's coffee region, and enjoy hiking the beautiful landscape of the Cocora Valley. Spend the rest of your visit strolling the quaint streets of Salento—this is a great place to appreciate traditional architecture and shop for gifts.
Free Time: Enjoy some free time to explore the town.
Activity: Spend the night in a traditional hacienda (Spanish for "estate") and get a closer look at life in Colombia's beautiful coffee region.

Day 4: Armenia/Medellín
Catch a flight to vibrant Medellín. Enjoy time to explore this historic city upon arrival.

Day 5: Medellín
Visit Comuna 13­ — a community transformed. Once controlled by the cartels, this neighbourhood is a shining example of Colombia's progress in overcoming its notorious past. Meet a local guide and begin the journey upwards with a ride on the city's unique public cable cars and escalator system then enjoy a walk discussing Colombia's history and revitalization. Opt to take a historical tour, visit museums, or go shopping in the afternoon.
Activity: Discover another side of Medellín as you travel on the city's innovative transportation system and head to Comuna 13­ - a community transformed. Once controlled by the cartels, this community is a shining example of Colombia's progress in overcoming its notorious past. Meet a local guide and begin the journey upward with a ride on the city's unique public cable cars. Head farther up the hillside to the outdoor electric escalators that serve Comuna 13. The extensive escalator system has renewed the impoverished district, which clings to a steep hillside, and provided much relief to residents whose daily commutes have become safer and faster. Arrive at the top to explore this welcoming and safe urban neighbourhood and enjoy panoramic views of the city.

Day 6: Medellín
Enjoy a free day to continue exploring Medellín. Opt to visit the nearby town of Guatapé, with its colourful houses and impressive monolith. Or, spend time learning about culture and history at one of the many museums.
Free Time: Get out and explore this vibrant city!

Day 7: Medellín/Cartagena
Fly to tropical Cartagena. Enjoy a walking tour through the old part of Cartagena visiting key sites throughout the historical centre of the city. Later, enjoy an evening cooking class of Caribbean and Colombian specialties at Interno Training Restaurant, a social reintegration project that offers an innovative space for reconciliation between female prisoners and civil populations.
Transport: Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's... yup, it is a plane, actually.
Activity: Learn more about Cartagena's history from a bilingual guide on a tour of this lively city. Travel between sights by private transport and visit the clock tower, Plaza Bolivar, and the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas. Take in sweeping views of the city from the hilltop Convento De La Popa and enjoy a walking tour from San Pedro Claver Church to Santo Domingo Church.
Activity: Enjoy a cooking class and learn how to make Caribbean and Colombian specialties at Interno Training Restaurant, a social reintegration project that offers an innovative space for reconciliation between female prisoners and civil populations. The class is led by the chef with assistance from the women in the training program. The program offers a second chance to low-risk prisoners through cooking—by nature an act of love and generosity. Here, the women in San Diego Minimum Security Penitentiary learn life skills to reenter society with dignity and gain the tools to find jobs in the hospitality industry. Following the class, enjoy the culinary creations for dinner, which can include Caribbean shrimp, stuffed calamari, yams and artisanal breads.

Day 8: Cartagena
Experience the Caribbean charm and beauty of the city. Get free time for optional activities such as a visit to Playa Blanca, a boat tour to Islas del Rosario National Park, or to explore nearby beaches. This afternoon we learn the basics of Colombian Salsa, known as Cali style in a private lesson by two local dancers.
Free Time: Get out and explore this tropical city.
