Tour Itinerary

Marvel at the Fish River Canyon, explore giant sand dunes and Victoria Falls, track the "big five", take wildlife walks and traditional canoe rides

This 18-day journey through four African countries hits the highlights and is perfect for the adventurer who wants to discover the region's diversity. Explore the Okavango Delta by traditional mokoro canoe, marvel at some of the highest sand dunes in the world in the Namib Desert, and meet the San Bushmen of the Kalahari. Your knowledgeable CEO (Chief Experience Officer) will take care of the hassles and planning while you recharge in hotels, local lodges, and camps for an unforgettable cultural experience you'll forever treasure.

Day 1: Cape Town
Arrive at any time.
Activity: Your opportunity to meet your CEO and fellow travellers, and learn more about your tour. Opt to join the group for a local meal afterwards. Don't forget to see the notice in the lobby (or ask reception) for the official time and place to meet up with the group.
Accommodation: Inn on the Square (or similar)

Transport: Travelling from Cape Town to Lambert's Bay, with a stop along the way at !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre.
Activity: The San people of Southern Africa have historically faced centuries of political and cultural oppression. The !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre provides tailor-made training for young San women and men of Southern Africa. Travellers learn about San culture and history at the interpretive museum. Visits help trainees gain experience with international clients while garnering support for the centre's efforts to preserve San culture and history.

Day 3: Lambert's Bay/Orange River
Continue north and cross into Namibia. Settle in by the banks of the Orange River with time to swim or just relax.

Day 4: Orange River/Ai-Ais
Spend the morning relaxing on the banks of the Orange River, then continue on to Ai-Ais, the small hot springs resort at the southern end of the Fish River Canyon. Spend the rest of the day relaxing in the healing waters.
Activity: Ai-Ais, which means 'scalding hot' or 'burning water' in one of the local Nama dialects, is a sulphur rich mineral spring at the southern end of the Fish River Canyon. Ai-Ais is also a part of the Ai-Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, covering a large piece of land in northern South Africa, and southern Namibia. The hot springs resort is a popular gateway to Namibia from the south, and the end point of the gruelling five-day Fish River Canyon hike. The spring water is piped to a number of indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis.
Transport: Settle in and scan the scenery from the convenience of a private vehicle.
Accommodation: Ai Ais Resort NWR (or similar)

Activity: Penduka works with women from the Katutura township, and surrounding rural communities, by helping them develop livelihoods through working in their handicraft workshops and cafe. Penduka trains and employs women disadvantaged through poverty, disability, ill-health, or lack of education, empowering them to develop skills in textiles, beading and pottery. Pick up a fresh-packed lunch at the cafe to help support the centre before touring the facilities and purchasing some of these crafts.

I definitely will recommend to other friends about him. Pls let him know that we really enjoy his introduction. He is also very informative and knowledgeable. In a word, he is excellent!

Great trip at a reasonable price.

Awesome trip in a great country. Our CEO was professional and fun!!!

G adventures offers hands down some of the best tour packages out there!

The Japan vacation was better than I expected!!!! It was an active "moving" trip, which I truly enjoyed. I've done "coach tours" where you sit on the bus and they take you -- this experience was "hands on" riding the buses, trains and running through the streets -- it was amazing !!!!! We got the full feel of Japan and the people. This trip is not for the weak or slow pace crowd - you drag your luggage through the streets, up and down stairs --- it was truly exciting and exhilarating. G adventures has a fan for life. The instructions and assistance was outstanding -- Great job - Steve (AffordableTours.com) was outstanding !
