The Spanish banned traditional dress on the island, which is why the Spanish peasant dress can still be found today. Next, travel to the fascinating UROS ISLANDS, home to the Uros Indians, who were forced to live on the lake as the Inca Indians pushed farther into their territory. To that end, Globus has established a worldwide Assurance program, with enhanced on-trip protocols and procedures, to ensure the health – and happiness – of guests throughout their travels with us.
It all starts with Globus' Global Health & Safety Team, dedicated to ensuring that cleanliness of all operations exceeds today’s travel standards—from start to finish. The following areas address Globus' commitment to providing a safe and clean environment for guests.A SAFE & WARM WELCOME
Globus will enact new tour check-in procedures and pre-trip health screenings to offer guests a safe start to their journey, including adherence to social distancing requirements.BLENDING CULTURAL PROXIMITY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCE
Globus will ensure safe distances for guests throughout the journey, on coach and during excursions. This includes providing masks for guests use at any time where social proximity could be an issue as well as the possibility of reducing group sizes, if required. And wireless listening technology – including Globus' Go Beyond Devices in Europe – enables safe distances between guests and other travelers on excursions.FOCUS ON GUEST AND TEAM MEMBER HEALTH
To ensure a healthy environment for team and guests, Globus will conduct regular temperature checks for both guests and team, and when necessary, masks will be worn by Globus' team members when with guests.TOUCHING HEARTS, NOT HANDS
Traveling with Globus removes many of the “touch points” of travel, including luggage handling, check in/out, expedited entry into attractions and more. Globus are further reducing risk with hands-free service, meaning all self-services replaced by staff, including buffet meals replaced with table service. Globus will also ensure hand sanitizing is available throughout each trip, on coach and in hotels.COMMITMENT TO CLEAN

Globus has strict health and safety protocols, which have been in place for years, focused on ensuring all aspects of operation- from vehicles and equipment used on trip to excursions and hotel procedures. Peru is a beautiful country and the trip was amazing. The tour director was the best and the local guides were great. The fellow travelers were a fun bunch. The humidity of the rain forest and the altitude of the Andes made this the most physically challenging trip I've ever taken but well worth it. Take all of your medications (altitude, diarrhea and malaria) and you will have a great time.
The Tour guide and driver did a professional job. Alex went above and out of his way to insure guests were satisfied and safe. Global should be very pride of him knowledge. Thanks for an outstanding trip.
Make sure Per is on your bucket list. Fantastic trip! We saw sooo much great stuff on this trip.!
The tour director was outstanding in coordinating all the complex logistics of this trip. Machu Picchu and the Ballesta Islands boat trip were the highlights of the trip but the whole trip was very enjoyable. The local guides were very knowledgeable but were kind of long winded. Alex in particular was extremely knowledgeable and was very passionate about his areas of expertise.
Most people visit Peru to experience Machu Picchu. This trip provided that experience but also so much more. I never realized how much there is to see and do in Peru. It's a beautiful country (although quite poor) and Globus did a great job of showing our tour group the highlights. The hotels were some of the nicest I've stayed in on a tour at this level and our tour director was fantastic.
Trip as usual was wonderful. We will book another trip with Globus and Affordable Tours for sure! It always meets our expectations.
The tour guides were professional and knowledgeable. They paced the tours so that everyone could enjoy the tour.
Trip far exceeded expectations.
My husband and I absolutely loved our trip to Peru. The itinerary and accommodations exceeded our expectations! Our tour director was fabulous as were our tour guides. They were all so knowlegable and made the trip really memorable. The only negative of the trip was that one of our tour members, who was in her mid 80's, had difficulty walking and had health issues which sometimes delayed the group to their destination. She was also a difficult personallity (which no one could have forseen) and constantly interrupted the tour director and guides with inappropriate questions and comments. Our tour director and our guides handled it very tactfully and professionally to their credit.
