Tour Itinerary

Starting in the 'Cidade Maravilhosa', experience the sheer force of nature at Iguassu Falls before country hopping to Argentina for big steaks, fiery tango and a slice of gaucho living. Ending in Peru, cuddle llamas and walk in the footsteps of the Incas at mighty, magnificent Machu Picchu.

Day 1 - Arrive Rio de Janeiro (3 Nights)
Golden swathes of famous coastline, tropical landscapes and a certain joie de vivre will welcome you to one of the world's most vibrant cities, Rio de Janeiro. Energy pulses through every pore of this passionate and fun loving city, flooding from the favelas to the football fields and cumulating in nightly parties where the caipirinhas are free flowing and the samba rhythm is infectious. Rio may be best known for its annual Carnival, but visiting here you'll realise that every day is cause for celebration. Settle in to your hotel before meeting up with your Travel Director this afternoon. Then perhaps hit the sands of Copacabana to watch the sun set whilst you sip your first Cachaça.
Accommodation: Mirador

Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro Sightseeing and Free Time
The picturesque Cosme Velho district will be your first port of call today, where 1920's neocolonial buildings will surround you as you board the Corcovado Rack Railway, an old cogwheel train. Hopping on board you'll wind your way through the Tijuca Forest to the very top of the Corcovado Mountains, standing in awe as you catch a first glimpse of the 30 metre high Christ the Redeemer. The undisputed icon of Rio, this magnificent art deco statue is one of the new 7 Wonders of the World and offers the best vantage point of the 'Marvellous City' stretching out below. Take your time exploring here before heading on to visit lively Copacabana and beautiful Ipanema, Rio's best known beaches. Laze under an umbrella, take a dip in the surf, then this evening dive in to Rio's famed culinary scene.
Meals: Breakfast

Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro City Free Time
Waking up to your final full day in Rio, today is free to explore your way. Perhaps discover the charm and beauty of Santa Teresa on a walking tour, learning the history of this bohemian neighbourhood which now boasts many of the city's best studios, galleries, museums and restaurants. Alternatively, opt for a sun drenched sailing excursion around Guanabara Bay, passing by islands and forts with the towering Sugarloaf Mountain ever present in the distance. For those keen to get a closer look, you could also opt for a half day city tour of Rio which includes ascending the mountain by cable car for absolutely stand out views. Tonight, celebrate the diversity and culture of South America at the Carretão Ipanema Churrascaria, where drummers and dancers enthral and delight whilst sharing folklore tales and mystical rituals.

Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro – Iguassu Falls (2 Nights)
Leaving the colourful costumes and infectious rhythms of Rio behind, this morning you'll head to the airport to catch your flight to Iguassu Falls. Words can't really describe the magnificence of the world's largest series of waterfalls (275 to be exact), which straddle the border between Argentina and Brazil and are surrounded by lush expanses of national park. Settle in to your hotel this afternoon and spend the evening relaxing, no doubt bubbling with excitement for the natural spectacle that tomorrow will bring.

This afternoon keep the adrenalin levels high on a hike down a canyon to the Macuco Falls, where you'll then board a custom designed inflatable motorboat for a high intensity ride to the base of the falls. Country hopping between Brazil and Argentina, today you'll cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge, otherwise known as Fraternity Bridge, to explore the Argentinian side of the falls. Adding a new stamp to your passport as you cross through customs, you'll drive through the lush and wildlife rich Argentinian Iguassu National Park to reach the falls and cascades which are equally as impressive from this side of the border. Boarding the open sided and near silent Ecological Jungle Train which is every bit as scenic and sensual as it sounds, you'll pay a second visit to Devil's Throat before heading to the airport to catch a flight to passionate, sexy, European influenced Buenos Aires.

Steve our travel director is excellent! He went above & beyond to give us a trip of a Lifetime. Very well organized and had some fun activities while on the road to make our ride time less boring. Very professional and courteous but treat everyone like Family. Very knowledgeable about geography & history of the places we were visiting. Our driver Giuseppe has a top knotch driving skills and very professional and courteous. Keeping us all safe on the road as well as helping everybody while getting off the bus. And looking out for our luggage's safety. I would definitely recommend to my friends & Family and I will book a trip with Costsaver again.

Hotels were even better than expectrd. We saw do many and wonderful attractions.

The trip itinerary was very detailed. From the booking to the end of my trip I was totally satisfied. It was my second trip, but I think I will book my future trips again. The trip director and all local guides were very knowledgeable and had great sense of humor, never boring. The optional excursions were excellent.

If people would ask me if I got my money's worth, I would reply that I got much much more than my money's worth. My trip was beyond wonderful, beyond amazing, beyond breathtaking.... Trent Plaine gave great background history of every country we visited; he took us to places morning noon and night... if there were places on the way out of a country he'd have us visit them and stop for great views. He was knowledgeable on flavors, food... the road trip was fantabulous!

The trip was well organized, the director Annarika is excellent in all aspects .our driver Marco is excellent too. They are both highly recommended in the fields they chose. In my next travel I wish I will be with them again.

Another excellent trip from start to finish. I am looking forward to my next trip already!!

We had a great experience with this company on this tour and would recommend this trip to anyone.

This was my first Costsaver tour and it was amazing. Our consultant, Maureen and tour guide Rose were top notch, extremely knowledgeable, and true professionals. I will definitely use Costsaver again!

Novotel Hotel was disappointing.

The trip to Italy was beyond my expectations! Our tour guide Amedeus was knowledgeable, kind, intuitive and made sure each one of us felt like royalty!

Our tour director Gianmarco was enthusiastic, informative and engaging. If I could pick him as my personal tour director to with me as I travel the world I would. The locations and sites were awe inspiring, but Gianmarco made this a very memorable experience. One I will cherish for a long time.

This was my 6th trip with Costsaver/Trafalgar, and I look forward to my next.
