After breakfast, meet your tour guide in the city center and embark on a small group tour (max 12). Start by exploring the old town with a first stop in Castelvecchio, the old medieval castle. After that, stop in Piazza Bra’ to admire an outside visit of Verona Arena, built in the 1st century. Here you will learn about the old games of gladiators but also other interesting myths and facts about the Arena. Enjoy a pleasant walk between the lanes to learn about the old town walls and other monuments from Roman times and Middle Ages, reliving the story of the past. After a picturesque day, you will reach the house and balcony of Juliet, reminiscing her famous love to Romeo. Continue to the central Piazza Erbe before ending the tour fully immersed in the local culture. Spend the rest of the day discovering Verona on your own. Today, make your way independently to the train station for your train to Venice. Upon arrival, meet your private guide and take your ferry to San Marco Square. The first highlight of today’s walking tour is St. Mark’s square, with the majestic St. Mark’s Basilica, the elegant Doge’s Palace, the Clock Tower, and the Procuratie. From St. Mark’s Square, you will move forward to Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where you will admire the Santi Giovanni e Paolo church with the famous Pantheon. Follow the Scuola Grande di San Marco, also known as “Great School of Charity” (the Captains of Fortune). Last but not least, head back to St. Mark’s and admire the Malibran Theatre. Step through the famous Mercerie, once the pulsing heart of commercial life back in time, nowadays Venice’s main shopping district between Rialto Bridge and St Mark’s Square. Meet your guide in the city center of Verona and take a seat for an amazing and relaxing half-day tour of Lake Garda. Once you leave the city center, you will pass through the countryside to reach Peschiera del Garda. Here you can board a motorboat (weather and availability permitting) or continue in the minivan to our final destination of Sirmione. This beautiful medieval village on the southern bank of Lake Garda will make you feel as if you have stepped into the past with its narrow lanes and old shops, also called "botteghe." (B)Optional: For those that wish, an optional class; Experience Risotto and Pasta cooking class that can be arranged at time of booking. This experience takes place in a beautiful loft-style cooking school in Verona’s historical center. The chef will teach you about the simplicity and the authenticity of Italian cuisine and some secrets of the main Italian recipes. Make several tasty dishes including hand-made fresh pasta and bruschetta. Top it off with a classic Italian dessert, Tiramisu, a cake made with "savoiardi," laced with liqueur and coffee and layered with cocoa and sweet mascarpone cream. At the end of the class, sit down together withyour classmates and savor the meal with a glass of local Valpolicella wine.
