Health and Safety Protocols for Trafalgar Tours
Trafalgar has introduced these enhanced hygiene protocols – for you and team members.
You can travel with Trafalgar and be assured that their team has put numerous new measures in place to elevate their hygiene standards and protocols. The well-being of guests and team has always been, and always will be, their primary concern.
In this new, fast changing Covid-19 era, Trafalgar is doing all they can to adapt to new requirements and expectations. Here are some important new steps and procedures that they have implemented to enhance hygiene protocols, to comply with physical distancing requirements by relevant government authorities and to give you the peace of mind when you are traveling during these new times.
Expertly Trained Travel DirectorsTravel Director training equips them with enhanced hygiene and physical distancing procedures. During your trip, they will operate with a duty of care and monitor the hygiene etiquette of the guests, reacting and advising as needed, to ensure high standards are maintained. Before you travel, Trafalgar will also keep you well informed about new protocols required in these areas, and ask that you cooperate with and heed the advice and direction of Travel Directors while on your trip. The Travel Directors have preventative measures in place to try and ensure your well-being and in the event that any unexpected issues arise on trip, they will activate additional protocols.
Stringent On-the-Road ProtocolsThe customized luxury coaches are sanitised before the start of your trip and have always been kept to very high standards. Following the outbreak of COVID-19, Trafalgar have taken additional measures to elevate hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and as required, applicable government regulations. The Driver training provides them with the latest hygiene protocols. They will clean and disinfect all surfaces including handrails, door handles, tables, seats, air-conditioning filters and overhead lockers on a daily basis. All the guests are asked to follow hygiene practices recommended by the World Health Organisation including the thorough and regular washing of hands and sanitising when required. Hand sanitiser is freely available on board for your use throughout the day. Please bring your own washable face mask and gloves with you, and additional hand sanitiser to make you feel comfortable, as these will be required to be worn in public in some countries. Should an unexpected situation arise, additional face masks, rubber gloves, antiviral sprays and wipes will be available for guest distribution on all trips.
A Full Team of Support 24/7It’s not just your Travel Director and Driver who will be taking care of you. Behind the scenes, the operations and guest support teams are in contact with them and on call 24/7, so you can rest assured that you’re in good hands.
Physical DistancingAdapting to the right size groups, based on government distancing requirements, you can rest assured that you will travel with the comfort of your own personal space. Have peace of mind that all of the experiences, hotels and restaurants you’ll enjoy on your trip have been vetted to ensure they adhere to physical distancing and hygiene guidelines.
Trusted Partners, Exceptional StandardsTrafalgar is very selective in who they work with and choose to only use hotels, restaurants, ground handlers and venues that take the well-being of the guests as seriously as Trafalgar does and agrees to meet expected guidelines and specifications. Trafalgar only works with establishments that they are confident will consistently adhere to their high standards.
Always in the KnowAs part of The Travel Corporation (TTC) , Trafalgar is kept up to date with all government advisories and travel alerts on a daily basis and is continually in touch with all of the partners on the ground in each destination. Also, rest assured that during your trip, the teams work to ensure the supplier partners (hotels, restaurants, museums and other venues) are also applying the same standard to these new hygiene and distancing protocols, to the extent possible.

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
We traveled to so many places we would never would have gone to on our own.
This particular tour required a lot more time in the coach (bus) than I expected even though I knew we would be having to travel a lot. Usually on tours we stop about every 1 1/2 hours. At the most 2. We exceeded that several times. As a consequence over a dozen people including some of the children experiences leg/foot swelling. Also the stops were so short we were expected to stand in line to use the toilets and then get lunch in about a half hour sometimes. Due to the distances we covered we were able to see many wonderful places. It was a "bucket list" tour for sure. Of the 7 tours I have been on this tour director would be ranked the 7th. He didn't really "come alive" with information until the last few days (after talking about gratuities). The local guides were great and my fellow travelers were by far the most wonderful people.
This was an enjoyable and most interesting trip. Because we covered about 5,000KM or 3200 miles, there were long periods of travel on the bus. Good overview of Europe and then you can decide what you would like to go back to see in the future.
The trip was very smooth from start to finish. Well organized and professional
Trafalgar has made a lot of progress in the way they organize, and execute the tours since my last tour in 1992. The quality of the tour from the Tour Leader to the hotels and the transportation was simply amazing and smooth. If I was assured that I would get the same tour guide, Martin, I would plan another trip in a heartbeat.
Wonderful experience!! I am ready to book another trip with Trafalgar! Our tour director and bus driver were above excellent. Our optional excursions were superb. 150 percent successful vacation!
I believe that we received a good value for the trip. The tour director, was very efficient, informative and caring. We were very satisfied with the hotels, food service and tours. The tour we took, European Whirl, is exactly that. If you are not in reasonably good shape and can't handle stairs, you will be worn out. I am 78 and in pretty good shape but at times, I had a hard time keeping up with my younger fellow travelers.
Trip was absolutely wonderful! We had a fabulous time and would love to get the same tour director.
We arrived on Sunday and didn't meet up with the Tour Director until Tuesday. Our time two days in London were not well spent because we didn't have the benefit of a tour representative providing info on availability, tickets, etc. Did not need to take a cruise in every country. An unexplained delay of a cruise in Germany resulted in our tour stopping in Heidelberg for only 40 minutes.
Buyer Beware! If you want to sit on your butt on a bus for hours on end, see most of Europe from a highway, eating at truck stops all day long, getting no exercise whatsoever and gaining weight, then this is the tour for you. I was **extremely disappointed** by the format of this tour. Instead of making short stops for bathroom breaks and then spending lunch in small towns along the way where you can stroll, shop, eat local food, interact with the local people and culture, we spent hours every day at truck stops while traveling to the major cities. Our travel guide was very informative and our bus driver safe and wonderful, but I will never travel Trafalgar again and I would not recommend them to family and friends. Too many terrible hours wasted on river or lake cruises that were boring when we could have been walking around the beautiful cities. We had the pleasure 2 years ago to go on a 2 week European Tour with Image Tours and it was the best vacation ever, I would highly recommend them instead. On Image Tours we stopped at small towns everywhere, like one in Belgium, one outside of Innsbruck (the best time in the Alps there!), Lake Guarda on the way to Venice, Beanne and Auxerre on the way to Paris, etc. Also, all breakfast and dinners and most excursions are included with Image Tours. Not so with Trafalgar. Only a few dinners and almost all the excursions and river/lake cruises were a waste of time and expensive, except for Moulin Rouge which was wonderful. The only reason we took this tour was because it went to Rome and London. We did see the Pope, which was a highlight. But we were left on our own for 2 days in London, with only a bus ride to the Palace to see the changing of the guard, big deal that was not. All in all, I regret taking this Trafalgar tour.
It was a magical trip...perfect in every way.
