Insight is Superb in my book. Variety and quality of hotels is great. We did 2 weeks Country Roads of France and loved it and made many new friends. Bus is comfy too.

Had a great trip / experience.

Too many optional experience, not enough included in base tour.

The itinerary given to us is different from an updated one given to us during the trip. An example is on day 6 which we are supposed to go to Grenoble after our drive to the lakeside town of Annecy. Instead we went to Chamberry, where we stayed at the Hotel Mercure, which is in front of a train station where the roar of incoming and outgoing trains happened all night . There is no air conditioning in the hotel so we have to open the windows where drunk people could be heard loitering in front of the hotel waiting for their train to depart, not to mention the ongoing construction just across the street. Also, La Trufffe Noire Hotel is a very old squeaky, very small room hotel where 2 luggages could hardly be accommodated. Breakfast rooms too small and food is on the bare minimum. Eze Botanical Gardens and Van Gogh's Arles must be eliminated from the optional tours. Both are not worth the price of climbing a very steep hill to see the cacti and the steps of Van Gogh.

Only 8 nights hotels were good and the other 7 nights accommodations were simply below the expected level particularly considering the cost. We have experienced this exact same problem wth Insight vacations before. For example, in our Sicily tour with them in April 2015, not a single hotel room was air conditioned as promised.

Our Insight Vacation "Country Roads of France" tour director was the hardest working tour director we have ever experienced. He just couldn't do enough for his customers and was totally outstanding.
