Arrive in the lively Danish capital of Copenhagen; transfer to your hotel. Time to rest and relax, or begin your independent discovery of this sophisticated city. Tonight, your tour begins at 6 PM when you join your Tour Manager for an orientation meeting on the delightful tour that awaits you in Scandinavia and Russia, followed by a Welcome Drink and Dinner with your fellow travelers. We recommend that you select flights which arrive in Copenhagen no later than 4 PM on Day 2 of the itinerary, or earlier if possible

DAY 3, Monday - Highlights of Copenhagen
Today, get acquainted with the highlights of Copenhagen. Start the tour with a visit to the Royal Reception rooms in Christiansborg Palace*, the seat of the Danish Parliament, Prime Minister's Office and Supreme Court. View the Gefion Fountain, the largest monument in the city and the iconic Little Mermaid statue. Spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure to explore the city on your own. Perhaps visit one of the many museums, linger at a café in the Nyhavn district or stroll the Strøget pedestrian area and enjoy Smørrebrød sandwiches, delicious Danish pastries, and Denmark's renowned beers. Or join the optional North Zealand Castle Tour to the Danish countryside and Riviera. Make a photo stop at Kronborg castle, the setting of Shakespeare's play Hamlet. Enjoy a Scandinavian lunch with your group at a local restaurant, and spend the rest of the day at your leisure. DAY 6, Thursday - Stockholm's Treasures
The discovery of Stockholm begins with views of the imposing Italian Baroque Royal Palace and Riddarholm Church, burial place of Swedish monarchs. At the City Hall, visit the famous Blue Hall and glistening Gold Hall where the Nobel Banquet and Ball is held each year. Then, a walk through the narrow cobbled streets of the medieval Old Town (Gamla Stan) reveals rows of ocher-colored 17th and 18th-century storybook buildings, 700-year-old Storkyrkan Cathedral, the Nobel Museum, and historic Stortorget Square. Today's exploration of Moscow begins at the massive red walls of the Kremlin, the former residence of Russian Czars. View Czar Cannon, the 16th century Czar Bell and Cathedral Square, home to Moscow's most elaborate cathedrals. Visit the astonishing Armory Museum with its Imperial Russian treasures including royal crowns, embossed carriages, and the extraordinary jeweled Faberge Eggs. Then, stroll through the lovely Alexander Gardens; view the obelisk dedicated to the Romanovs and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with its eternal flame.     Overall, the trip was exceptional. The tour guide Riccardo was outstanding...very friendly, caring and knowledgeable about the areas visiting. The accommodations in Bari and Napoli were disappointing. In Bari, the room at Grande Albergo delle Nazario was extremely small which made it difficult to manage suitcases for 2 people. In Napoli, the room at Hotel Royal Continental certainly needed updating. The overall appearance of the room looked worn and a little shabby. However, the condition of these 2 rooms did not affect the great time we had. Will definitely travel with Gate 1 again.

    Awesome experience... knowledgeable and helpful tour guide (Hend), as well as all other employees.

    As always, everything went very smoothly.

    This trip was fantastic. It was packed with lots of activities and places to see. Unfortunately, weather plays a big role in what you see and don't see. We weren't able to visit Robben Island due to choppy water and couldn't see much of Victoria Falls due to rain/fog. But I'm not complaining, that's just how things go. Other than that, the itinerary was very fast paced and we got to see a lot, which was desired. The tour was very organized and our group leader, Ahmet, was very knowledgable of the places we visited. I would recommend the game drive in Botswana over the game drive in South Africa. The food and drink was quite good from the included meals. Ahmet did his best to accomodate everyone. I'd recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see as much as possible in such a short time frame. The schedule is strict but well worth the sights.

    My group and I had a wonderful time visiting Iceland, none of us wanted to leave. The hotel, although basic, was clean and very comfortable. The sights and excursions were breathtaking. Tour guides were pleasant and knowledgeable.
