From the Lost City of the Incas surrounded by the peaks of the Andes to the floating Uros Islands on the highest lake in the world, this vacation to Peru leads you to great heights while also going to greater depths to illuminate its archaeological, historical, and cultural wonders. In addition to two days of exploration at the mysterious and magical ruins of Machu Picchu, you’ll also visit the Sillustani pre-Incan burial ground, cruise to the wildlife paradise of the Ballestas Islands, and frolic through the wonders of colonial and culinary Lima as well as the Inca capital, Cusco.

The tour director was outstanding in coordinating all the complex logistics of this trip. Machu Picchu and the Ballesta Islands boat trip were the highlights of the trip but the whole trip was very enjoyable. The local guides were very knowledgeable but were kind of long winded. Alex in particular was extremely knowledgeable and was very passionate about his areas of expertise.
Most people visit Peru to experience Machu Picchu. This trip provided that experience but also so much more. I never realized how much there is to see and do in Peru. It's a beautiful country (although quite poor) and Globus did a great job of showing our tour group the highlights. The hotels were some of the nicest I've stayed in on a tour at this level and our tour director was fantastic.
Trip as usual was wonderful. We will book another trip with Globus and Affordable Tours for sure! It always meets our expectations.
The tour guides were professional and knowledgeable. They paced the tours so that everyone could enjoy the tour.

My husband and I absolutely loved our trip to Peru. The itinerary and accommodations exceeded our expectations! Our tour director was fabulous as were our tour guides. They were all so knowlegable and made the trip really memorable. The only negative of the trip was that one of our tour members, who was in her mid 80's, had difficulty walking and had health issues which sometimes delayed the group to their destination. She was also a difficult personallity (which no one could have forseen) and constantly interrupted the tour director and guides with inappropriate questions and comments. Our tour director and our guides handled it very tactfully and professionally to their credit.

Peru is a beautiful country and the trip was amazing. The tour director was the best and the local guides were great. The fellow travelers were a fun bunch. The humidity of the rain forest and the altitude of the Andes made this the most physically challenging trip I've ever taken but well worth it. Take all of your medications (altitude, diarrhea and malaria) and you will have a great time.
