MADRID.The capital since 1561, Madrid today is a strikingly modern city, the showcase of a country resolutely turned towards the future. Your Local Guide takes you to the Puerta del Sol, Plaza de España with its monument to Cervantes, the Parliament, Cibeles Fountain, elegant Calle Alcala, and Paseo de Castellana. Then, the highlight: a visit to the palatial PRADO MUSEUM with its priceless art treasures. To make the most of your stay, an optional excursion to Toledo is available. (B)

MADRID–CORDOBA–SEVILLE.A scenic drive through the arid landscapes of Don Quixote’s La Mancha brings you to Cordoba, for an orientation walk through the winding, stone-paved streets of the medieval city. SEVILLE.Meet your Local Guide, and hear about the city’s role in Roman times, its conquest by the Moors in 712 AD, and its contribution to the discovery of the New World. Admire Maria Luisa Park, the Golden Tower on the Guadalquivir River, and the university that was once the tobacco factory of Carmen fame. Also, visit the magnificent CASA DE PILATOS, a mixture of Moorish and Roman architecture with a splendid collection of Roman sculptures. Then, stroll through the narrow lanes of the charming SANTA CRUZ QUARTER. Tonight, for a truly Andalusian night out, reserve a seat at our optional Flamenco show. (B)

SEVILLE–GRANADA.Sightseeing with a Local Guide features Granada’s main attraction: the ALHAMBRA COMPLEX. The mighty yet graceful citadel was planned by 13th-century Moorish ruler Al Ahamar. A fantasy of “lace in stone” surrounded by arabesque gardens and fountains, it affords superb views of the Old Quarter and Sacromonte, a mountain occupied by Gypsy cave dwellers. I attended both Greek and Spanish escape tours, both tour guides were very nice and professional and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my time and learned a lot about these countries and their cultures. I will very likely take other tours with Globus. Thank you very much.

There should have been an activity level description fir the excursions like strenuous, moderate, easy to help us plan better. I would have taken my walking cane with me if I had known. OR the guide could have told us ahead of time.
The time to visit various sites was not sufficient and the optional tours were too expensive, though the price for the regular tour (without the optional parts) was very reasonable. So, the answer should be "maybe"
We certainly did not study this trip well enough. We spent hours and hours on the bus and very short amounts of time in some very wonderful places like Toledo, Sevilla, Grenada, and Valencia. What a shame. We left on a bit of a low note-our tour director told us the taxi to the airport would be 25 Euros-it was almost 50. I guess we did not pay for airport transport for our way home since we had stayed an extra day. We were confused because we met a group who stayed an extra day also and their transport had been arranged. Oh well. Live and learn
My only complaint was the start time of each tour date: It started way too early. A start time of an hour later than scheduled would have been better for me. ( I realize though that there are also those who are morning people.)

The Spanish Escape Tour exceeded my expectations! We were taken cared off amazingly from choice of hotels, included meals, tour director, local guides, coach driver and optional excursions. Everybody and everything was excellent!
Wow!!! The trip was awesome. Our tour director Angel was one of the best ever. Our driver Jesus was wonderful and an excellent driver. Angel and Jesus made our outstanding trip even more so. This trip was way above expections as always. Thank you to Globus and Affordable Tours.

The attention he gave us when booking this trip was appreciated and covered every detail. Our travel guide in Spain was surprised and impressed with the booklet, tags, information and etc. that we had. Others on this trip did not have the same information. This was our first Globus Tour. It was the Spain Escape series. We felt it offered good value. Our Tour Manager Monica Rey was excellent as well as local guides and motor coach driver. The hotel were centrally located. We thought The Regente in Barcelona was the best for location, breakfast and room. Other tour operators we have used in the past include Gate 1.
