Tour Itinerary

Like the beautiful mosaics gracing the floors and walls of ancient Roman villas, we’ve brought together the most brilliant parts of Italy to create an impact with this visually stunning vacation. Hand selecting experiences from multiple regions of “the boot,” we’ve assembled an imaginative getaway with the brightest pieces of Rome, Florence, and Venice, plus the sultry Italian Riviera, the breezy Lake District, and the sunny coast of Campania. The pastel-tinted Cinque Terre fishing villages, the sparkling blue waters of Capri, and the lemon-tree-lined streets of Sorrento offer a vivid picture of Italy, while the pilgrimage destination of Assisi, the Roman ash preserved city of Pompeii, and the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa provide just the right accents. Traveling north, south, coastal, and inland, this multi-hued tour of Italy is a picture-perfect montage of memories.

Globus will also ensure hand sanitizing is available throughout each trip, on coach and in hotels.

COMMITMENT TO CLEAN

As a part of Globus' commitment to clean, Globus is requiring enhanced cleaning procedures with hotel partners, on motorcoaches, vehicles and throughout every trip, including additional daily disinfecting procedures that go above-and-beyond already strict health and safety procedures.

PARTNERS IN DISCOVERY AND IN HEALTH

Globus has strict health and safety protocols, which have been in place for years, focused on ensuring all aspects of operation- from vehicles and equipment used on trip to excursions and hotel procedures. This process will continue with new, elevated health and safety checks, to maintain their promise that each touch-point on tours and cruises are considered in their commitment to guest and team member well-being.

This was our 3rd tour with Globus and, as with our first 2, they exceeded our expectations.

The tour guide, local specialists, and drivers were excellent and made the tour for us. The itinerary was interesting and gave a good overall feel of Italy

Outstanding Italy trip, everything I expected and then some.

We would definitely book a trip if we knew Fabrizio was going to be the tour guide, could not have asked for better service and he made you feel like family and well informed the whole time.

Excellent tour. A little too aggressive for me but I knew that before I booked.

Globus does a fantastic job with tours! We will definitely use them again! I have always prided myself in extreme planning on my own where I research a country, figure out what we want to do, often involving things out of the ordinary, then calling a company and giving them precise instructions for airlines, car rental or private transportation to and from airports, hotels, and activities, the activities we want to do, and the hotels we want to stay. Using Globus was the first time we used a tour company that we actually left everything up to them. It was an extensive tour of Italy and was so well planned. We had an incredible tour director with excellent private local guides each place we stopped, very good to excellent accommodations, excellent food and activities in our Mosaic tour of Italy. We were in a brand new Mercedes Benz bus driven by a proficient driver and they offered 9 optional tours, which we booked and enjoyed every one. I had even requested to be able to do something in Florence that was not on the tour and our tour director contacted Globus and they made it possible to do in the 2-hour window we had before our optional excursion. We were able to basically walk right in to that particular venue instead of waiting in long lines! The mosaic covered every place we wanted to go and we did an optional 2-day post- vacation stay in Rome to do a few extra things we wanted to do in Rome and back in Tuscany. This allowed us to feel like we had an extremely comprehensive and thorough vacation in Italy. We noticed that Globus was given preferential treatment amongst other competing tour companies, too. Our tour director, Ursula, was very organized, loving, caring, funny and really made the trip so much better. By the end of the tour, we felt like family and many of us were teary- eyed to say goodbye to her. Several of us agreed that we would want her for any travel in Europe. So if you asked me if I would travel with Globus again, it would be  Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!

several of the experiences were not available

our tour director (Silvana) was great. She was courteous, professional and her knowledge of the countries history during the tour made it enjoyable. She provided us with local customs regarding food/rest stops etc which made it easier and faster to be accommodated. She treated everyone with respect and always took time to explain the daily itinerary and took care of anyone's needs.

All but one of the hotels was substandard and not up to par. Our hotel room in Sorrento (La Residenza) smelled strongly of sewage. Two other couples in our tour group experienced the same problem. We asked to be given other rooms but were told that they had other guests arriving soon and could not give us a different room. The next day they provided a different room for us but not the other two couples. Our room was affected the most by the smell. The Hotel informed us that they were aware of the problem but hoped it would subside. We have traveled with Globus on two other occasions and had very nice accommodations. We did not receive our travel documents from Globus on time and had to contact our travel consultant to remedy this. Overall, the tour itself was a good experience. The itinerary was extensive and had some nice optional excursions. I would hesitate to book with Globus again and would certainly look at other options.

Our Tour Director was Outstanding. She went out of her way to accommodate all our tour. The bus driver was Awesome too.

Our tour guide Fabiana was fantastic!! She was very knowledgeable and kind. I would love to book another tour with her! I organized 22 people for this tour and everyone seemed to have a great time. We did become a family! Our bus driver Nino was also great and an expert driver with the big cumbersome bus he had to maneuver in such tight places- Positano and others.

I feel Globus under promised and over delivered! Great trip!

Globus and Affordable Tours provided great service and a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend them.

Very well organized tour with an excellent tour director

Our tour, Italian Mosaic with Globus, was just as described. Our hotels, excursions, tour director, driver, and local guides were all excellent.

Great tour! Amazing experience! The only thing I would note that in some cities like Florence for example, we could have used a bit more leisure time. Otherwise great itinerary and everything is greatly planned.

Globus provided an excellent tour with wonderful accommodations and friendly and knowledgeable guides

Overall we were very happy with the trip (Italian Mosaic). Our tour guide and driver were excellent. The itinerary was as expected and a couple of stops were even livelier than expected. The accommodations were acceptable, but not necessarily 1st class at a couple of stops.

This was a fabulous Globus tour! The tour director AND the group of travelers made this a remarkable experience! There were a few hotels that may not be considered up to the Globus standard/ my expectations, but I understand that European hotel rooms are not all the same, and so each of us had different experiences in the same hotel.

I can't imagine taking care of the needs and expectations of over 40 travelers on one bus, but our guides took great care of us the whole trip. We were very fortunate to have such great guides. My advice to anyone taking this type tour is to understand that you will meet all types of personalities and you need to have patience and a sense of humor. Get a lot of rest and keep a positive attitude. In our tour, we became friends, exchanged information and have very fond memories.

The tour and accommodations were excellent, except for the Michelangelo Hotel in Sorrento. Was definitely not a four star hotel.

Trip was excellent, the tour operator took care of everything. I originally had reservations about a structured tour, because I wanted to go at my own pace, but reality set in quickly and we could never have seen all we saw if we went on our own without a tour group. The tour director and driver accommodated every request, made the tour enjoyable, personalized the dinners to accommodate personal requests, and made sure we all saw and experienced anything we had desired. This is the only way to go and Affordable Tours and Globus were both best in class. Thank you!

Great trip by Globus with an outstanding tour director. My only complaint is that the hotel room in Assisi, Italy had a terribly uncomfortable bed; in fact, it was a lumpy mattress.

Hotels were city-centric. Although nice hotels, it seemed that as a single traveler and despite paying a supplement, my room was often smaller and without a view.

The tour was wonderful. Our guide was outstanding (and fun anf funny, too!).

Great tour. Saw a lot of beautiful places. It was busy, but that is the reason I want to travel. I want to see and do as much as possible.

Our experience with the Globus - Italian Mosaic Tour was exactly as we hoped it would be. The itinerary included several iconic historical and cultural sites in Italy that we had heard about but never actually visited. These were awesome to say the least. The tour director was great - knowledgeable, entertaining, caring and attentive to everyone's needs. The hotels were varied but all were located in the heart of the action at each city which made it easy to get to places we wanted to visit. One thing travelers choosing this (and other tours) should always check on is that several of the best experiences are called "Excursions" and they cost extra. We wanted to do many of these things so we signed up for them adding to our total cost. Without them, we would have missed several of the best experiences on our tour. The ones we skipped were generally just large feasts at local restaurants, unless there was more to it than just a meal, we did not think it was worth the cost. Some were great cultural experiences with meals so we did those. The other excursions we liked were historical, cultural, or artistic in nature and all were extremely good experiences.

The trip was very demanding with a lot of walking. We were up just about everyday around 6AM. The tour director was extremely knowledgeable and some of the local were very good. The trip was very worthwhile, but I don't think I will ever take another tour that is this long.

Our tour was interesting, informative, lively, comprehensive and FUN! Our fellow tourists were delightful; the tour guide was great.

Staff was helpful and patient, listening to questions and promptly addressed our concerns. It showed understanding of our needs and flexibility to address suggestions. Congratulations

Although this was the first tour group I used to plan a vacation, it well exceeded my expectations. The tour guide was fabulous...if only I could retain half of what we learned! Walking was extensive so if you need to take a few pounds off....do it before the trip.

Overall, the trip was amazing! It is rushed... need to make more leisure and alone time to walk around and enjoy the scenery, etc

This trip was exceptionally wonderful. I love that our hotels was close to shops and restaurantd, centered at the heart of everything. We were able to wander off on our own during the leisure times. Didn't have to wonder how we can get from here to there.

Our trip actually exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide was fabulous and the driver was excellent. We were busy the entire day with little down time.

We loved the itinerary and meals provided. We had difficulty with the hotel in Venice - excellent location, by the way, but no air conditioning for 1-1/2 nights and no sympathy or offer of exchange. It was extremely hot! Had to keep windows open allowing bugs into the room. They provided a fan after our tour director argued to get them for the entire first floor. Our driver was exceptional. We would book again with Globus. Had a great trip!

The trip, overall, was wonderful, with so many extras included. I never thought I'd see so much in such a short time. Very active though, and a lot of walking. Make sure you get yourself in shape. The tour director and our driver were both a pleasure to spend time with. The only real glitch was the absence of AC in one of the hotels in the middle of a heat wave, which was a little rough. All the hotel offered was free water for our inconvenience, and I had to beg for a fan before finally receiving one (it was 33C in my room!)

tour guide was lots of fun... We got to see a lot of beautiful places and eat great meals.

the description of tour activities was generally quite accurate. However, the Globus brochure statement that the trip would require up to two miles of walking per day was grossly inaccurate. The first day in Rome required around 4 miles of walking for the scheduled activities. More importantly, with the optional afternoon tour activities which required another 4+ miles of walking, the first day required almost 8 1/2 miles of walking. This pattern continued as the total tour activities with optional tours required over 65 miles of walking over 12 days. That's not 24 (12x2) or 36 or 48 but over 65! Once there it's very difficult not to take part in optional activities especially if the are paid for and will not be reimbursed if not taken. I backed out of one optional tour when I simply could no longer walk and lost the $89 pre payment! The tour activities were wonderful but the amount of walking to take part was, as described in the tour booklet, extremely inaccurate. I experienced a lot of leg pain as a result.

I LOVED ITALY! the scenery, the uniqueness, the food, the wine, the people, the tour group, the tour leader, the weather...Everything was Perfect!! I will highly recommend Globus  to everyone I know!!!

perfect trip ...agent was wonderful...

The schedule was a little bit tight, especially the first day, when we still had jet lag. The first full day program in Rome should be spread into two. It would be less physically demanding.

The room in Assisi, Italy was NOT a 4-star hotel. The room was dirty. The beds were cots. The bathtub was dangerous. Also, "air-conditioned rooms", it is not turned on until Mid-May or June. This applies to all of the cities we visited.

The Globus Italian Mosaic trip my husband, sister, brother-in-law, and I took in October was a trip of a lifetime! Our travel consultant was of great help in planning our trip. We would definitely plan other trips with Affordable Tours. The Globus itinerary provided us with such an opportunity to travel to so many parts of Italy. We would take more Globus Tours in the future.

Two very substandard hotels. Villa Stanley in Florence. Small room without AC. Springs in bed were coming thru mattress. All tour members were upset with this hotel. Remote from town Roseo Hotel Assisi All rooms were tiny basement cells. Very poor hotel. Tour Guide Aida were great.

Our tour guide walked much too fast and gave inadequate directions. He would say "Follow me" vs. telling where we were going. We lost 3 people in Venice for an hour which delayed everyone else. I would not go on another tour with him as a guide. When asked to slow down, he would briefly but speed back to the old pace quickly. He was very knowledgeable about Italy.

This was just the best trip ever! We have been to Germany with Globus and Great Britain & Ireland with Cosmos. My travel partner has also been to Israel with a church group and numerous missions trips all over the world. For overall satisfaction (accomodations, food, schedules, ESPECIALLY the tour director, optionals, and experiences) this was just top notch. We will never forget this trip and look forward to another one in the future. Our decision after this trip - we will always choose Globus for an out of country trip!

The tour with Globus was great but selection of hotel will need to improve. Hotel location in Florence was in the center of town, but rooms and bathrooms were very small and old (water leaked from upstairs bathroom). Local Guides were excellent. Tour Director and Driver were excellent as well. All very knowledgeable and professional. I would go with AffordableTours.com again in the future. THANKS!!

The tour director in Italy was super excellent. His abilitiy to communicate his extensive knowledge to the tour group was astounding. Local guides selected in each city were excellent as well. The tour bus was extremely comfortable and made treking through the country extremely enjoyable. My hat goes off to the bus driver as well. He showed great skill handling the driving assignments in some very challenging areas.

I have already recommended your service and that of Globus Tours to several of my friends interested in European travel next year and this fall. Globus tour director and driver were fantastic. The whole tour process and organization was above my expectations at this pricepoint.

This was one of the most enjoyable and memorable excursions of my lifetime. The advantages and benefits of an escorted tour were very clear. Never felt like a captive audience and all of the people in our group were pleasant and friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Our tour director, Ignaza was outstanding!! Extremely knowledgeable and personable with a terrific sense of humor. EVERYONE loved him. Our driver was unbelievable! What a professional! We always felt safe with him at the wheel. A good range of optional excursions complimented an aggressive itinerary. We saw so much in a short period of time! Well planned and well executed. Globus should be very proud of their organization.
