See the grandeur of Germany on a European river cruise through its most picturesque destinations along the Main and Rhine Rivers. Embark on your Avalon Suite Ship® in Nuremberg, and sail to Bamberg for a guided walking tour of the historic home to imperial dynasties. Your enchanting river cruise continues to Würzburg—the “Pearl of the Romantic Road.” From here sail to Frankfurt, where you may join a guided sightseeing tour of the city, or visit the nearby town of Seligenstadt. On your way to Rüdesheim, you’ll sail through the picturesque views of the Rhine Gorge. Then cruise to Strasbourg and join a guided city tour of the sights, such as the stunning stained glass of its Gothic-style cathedral, the astronomical clock, and La Petite France district. Your scenic cruise through Europe includes a stop in Breisach to visit Germany’s beautiful Black Forest region. Choose a visit to a local winery in Breisach, or a day trip to the Black Forest’s Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum. The tour cities and sites we visited were all great. The pace of the tour was good (not rushed with time to rest, shop or sight see on our own). Our tour director was fabulous (good communicator, knowledgeable, nice sense of humor). Our driver was a wonderful driver, I always felt safe. The extra excursions (I purchased all 4) were excellent and reasonably priced. I will use Globus again.
Globus Escapes are an economical way to travel during the off season. For me, I often prefer the off-season because there are fewer crowds. I especially appreciate the local tour guides in each area.
