Great trip.
Fantastic tour guide providing history, comfort and a wide variety of experiences and services.
Outstanding trip to Portugal. One of the best tour directors. The sights were beautiful, and the history provided by the tour director and local guides made the tour better than if we did it on our own. The Globus App kept us updated on each day events and of our flight plans. Wonderful to have everything at our fingertips. No need for paper. I highly recommend Globus\' Portugal in Depth.
Excellent itinerary, outstanding guide, and a wonderful trip to a delightful country I would strongly recommend.
The itinerary was an exceptional exposure to various regions and different landmarks of Portugal. It also offered a number of exciting stops such as a cork factory and tile shop as well as beautiful Algarve.
Excellent tour guide.
My wife and I had a great trip to Portugal. The trip offered everything and more! Our trael agent Linh Nguyen was great. She replied to all emails and phone calls. She put my wife and myself at ease. She is the best. Our travel guide, Pedro, with Globus was great. Thank you for a memorable trip.
Miguel, our Tour Director, was fantastic!
The best tour I have ever done.
Wonderful trip , very well organized, on time , driver very well experienced, tour leader wonderful, professionally taking care of everything with smile and energy. I would like to go with Globus again. Thanks for operations.
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our trio to Portugal with Globus Tours.
Excellent itinerary including the visits of the cork and tile factories, knowledgeable director, and professional driver.
Globus tour director was wonderful. We were the 1st group to travel in 1 1/2 years because of the pandemic. There were many regulations, and Rui handled well.
EXCELLENT DAILY GUIDE AS WELL AS THE OTHER 3 GUIDES ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THEY WERE CORDIAL AND KNOWLEDGABLE. THE BUS DRIVER WAS AN EXCELLENT DRIVER. THE PRICE WAS WONDERFUL. EACH DAY WAS WELL DONE--THE PLACES WE WERE TAKEN, THE DAILY WINE AND FOOD, THE QUALITY OF HOTELS. ONE OF OUR BEST GUIDED VACATIONS EVER!
I would recommend to provide tourist with bottled water while on the motorcoach. Just because of distance between places and also, more rest stops to use bathrooms, which was a little complicated in Portugal. Overall, great experience.
Globus Tour Director really did not extend herself. There were several short stops of 1-2 hour duration during this trip where we were not provide a map of the area nor were we given guidance of what to see during that time or where to eat. The hotel check-in at Porto, Lisbon was a disaster. We had to wait three (3) hours to check-in, the rooms were very warm, and the AC did not work properly. Check-in at Algarvae, Portugal was very disorganized and took a long time, while we all stood around the lobby. The Algarvae hotel accommodations were isolated from the main hotel accommodations, which was 1/4 mile away. The Tour Director did not inform any of us that we were entitled to use the reflecting pool, restaurant, and bar at the main hotel. Nor did she inform us that Globus travelers were entitled to a 30% discount off the buffet dinner at the main hotel restaurant. To add insult to injury, the Tour Director stayed at the main hotel with superior amenities, while all of our tour group stayed at the lesser appointed facility 1/4 mile away. Not Cool. We won't be touring with Globus again.
It should be noted that Portugal is all hills, steps and cobblestone streets. It can make walking difficult. However the country and the people are very nice. Certainly worth visiting.
Best was Porto and Algarve. Tours of Cork and tile "factories" were not good
This is the third tour we have done using Globus. We have found them to offer well priced tours without cutting quality. The hotels on this tour were wonderful and the tour guide was outstanding in every way. She was organized, had a great personality and knew the history 0f Portugal and other facts about the country as a whole. Her command of the English language was impressive.
The Algarve hotel was in a terrible location. The guide, Rui, was the best we ever had.
This was just a fantastic trip! The route was well organized and allowed to learn a lot about history, architecture, culture, and people of Portugal. However, the real gem in our trip was our Tour Director Maria. I travel a lot with various companies, but she is the best of the best! She is very knowledgeable and well prepared to answer any questions. If she could not answer at the spot, she always asked some time to research and always responded with more details in short time. She is emotional while telling the stories, with the great sense of humor. She is extremely friendly and open to any personalities, and very well organized. Everything was in perfect order (e.g., changing the seats in the bus which were marked with the names' paper stickers every day, with no mess for figuring out where is my seat on rotation). She was a real soul of our trip. I believe she has a rare talent for what she is doing. In addition, we had a wonderful driver and a brand new bus with the USB outlets for charging our devices (very convenient!). A bottle of water was provided every day, and that was very nice. I liked 'Whispers' for listening the guides outside. The new Whispers provided also a hot spot access, but I did not use it at all since I have the international data/text plan in over 150 countries included by my phone provider (T-Mobile). In addition, location of all hotels in downtown is great, with just a few steps from major sightseeing! Overall, I was very pleased with this trip. I will use Globus in the future, and will certainly recommend this company to my friends.
Excellent, enthusiastic tour guides. Top-notch accomodations
Our Globus tour Director was amazingly knowledgeable, charming, and genuinely desirous of sharing her country, Portugal, with us. Her fabulous sense of humor and patience even with aging tourists that need repeats and reminders was unparalleled. Best tour Director ever.
Globus appeared very experienced and the trip was flawless. Good accommodations, nice bus and staff was very well versed.
I highly recommend this tour for those looking for an easier pace that doesn't leave you completely exhausted at the end. You learn a lot about Portugal and its people.
We enjoyed our trip with Globus only downside was with the air connections through United and Air Canada. Things worked out but a lot of stress with delays.
Both the Tour Guide Rita and Bus Driver Sergio were excellent. The Tour Guide shared her vast knowledge of Portugal and its history. She went out of her way to accommodate dietary requests. I would recommend this tour.
I loved all the cities and regions we visited in Portugal. The hotels varied in quality; The Mundial was very nicely centrally located hotel but it was very noisy that we requested to have our room changed. The Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner were no were near the quality we would have received in a local fisherman's restaurant in the Alfama district. The Santa Maria hotel in Fatima was just basic with a very limited breakfast for the Globus Group! The NH Collection in Porto was exactly what I was expecting from Globus, as this was the quality of hotels I experienced on a Globus Tour in Spain in 2016. Hotel Pousada de Viseu and M'ar de AR Aqueduto in Evora were another perfect Globus hotels! But the Tivoli Marina Portimao was a dump-motel, not attached to the larger main hotel, this was an annex and our room constantly had a mildew smell, the electricity was on for 10 minutes and then went off and then went on etc...When we received our key cards, that did not work every time, there was a man at the deck who helped us but once we were booked there was no one there to help. We had to call the main hotel and they would send someone over!! The cleaning crew never gave us clean glasses or cleaned the floors!! The June 15th excursion to Cascais and area was great along with the Porto excursion. But the Dinner on the Algarve for 48 Euros was ridiculous!!! The wait staff were very nice but the restrauant food and location were not good, the wine glasses had chips on them. We had an excellent lunch on the beach overlooking the real ocean for half that price!! The Tivoli Marina Portimao hotel made a very bad dent in my feelings about going on another Globus Tour!!
The tour director and bus driver were EXCELLENT!! The tour was very informative and interesting as well as well-planned with regard to times to visit sights and free time as well. GLOBUS did a GOOD job!!
ALL WAS PERFECT AND PORTUGAL IA AMAZING!
Our tour guide, Rui, and bus driver, Rui, were wonderful. We were very pleased with the itinerary and choice of accommodations.
Globus is always a great value for the money, reliable, professional and well-run trips.
The director of the Tour (Pedro) proyects the rigth possitive image for Globus, as well for Portugal with his educational and profhesional attitude, he does a great job.
The tour director was exceptional. She took great pride sharing her vast knowledge of Portugal with us and was organized to the nth degree.
I enjoyed all the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made our tour remarkable. Portugal is beautiful, people are very friendly and there is history in every corner of the city. I particularly didn't like the Mundial Hotel because it was located at downtown, although close to many stores and restaurants.
Tour guide went out of his way to accommodate all passengers. Hotels were five star in great locations. Portugal is known for fish and the pastry was outstanding. Wear comfortable shoes as walks are all tiles and can be slippery. Walkers and canes not recommended.
Our Globus tour, Portugal In Depth, was wonderful. We saw so many beautiful sites and had so many special experiences that we would highly recommend this tour to others. All of the hotels we stayed at were beautiful and far exceeded our expectations. My friend and I opted for separate accommodations and all of our rooms were deluxe or comparable to the double rooms of other couples on the tour. Breakfasts were excellent and most of the included meals were very good (only one fell short). Most of the optional events were very special and worth the additional expense. Our tour director was Portuguese and different from directors on other escorted tours I have taken, but he was very kind, caring and eager to ensure that we enjoyed and got the most from each experience and aspect of the tour. This was my fifth Globus tour. I have enjoyed each one and I am looking forward to more in the future.
I like the hotels on the trip. Their locations are very good.
Staff was very proactive and helpful.
Portugal is a great country to take a tour. We highly recommend this trip.
Excellent tour! Our tour guide was one of THE best guides I have ever traveled with.
A great trip. Tour director was outstanding.
Globus itinerary, and especially our Tour Director, were exceptional! A wonderful and complete tour of Portugal.
My only complaint was it was not a vegetarian friendly country even though we stayed at four and five star hotels. I think for that quality, they should be able to prepare better food for people who don't eat meat.
The flight to Lisbon was not comfortable as the plane was too small for transatlantic routes. The hotel quality was excellent in most cases and mediocre in certain locations. Overall the itinerary and the tour director were top quality.
This was our first Globus Tour...it was average. I chose this company because it offered the itinerary and times I needed.
Globus was fine but a packed bus with 44 guests ruined much of trip for me.
While tour directors cannot change the weather, we were very disappointed in our optional excusion to Sintra, where the local guide pushed us into a restaurant and made no effort to show us things that would have been possible even in the rain.
It was a great trip.
The hotel rooms Globus provided were fine, but the included food in the hotels was inedible and in the optional meals was mediocre and overpriced. This was a consistent problem and the reason I don't plan on using them again.
The agents at Affordabletours are super. Our tour guide in Portugal,Rui, was the best.
I wanted to go on an in-depth tour of Portugal. This tour did exactly that. The information shared by all of the guides was phenomenal!! So thorough....so fascinating. Sights were amazing. The Tour Director was FANTASTIC, with the information he shared, the way he cared for everyone, his caring for EVERY DETAIL! I was so impressed! (It was unfortunate that one or two of those in the group found fault with everything and everyone. They definitely irritated the others!) I was pleased that "optional tours" were not forced upon us. They were explained and we were given the choice. I was happy to have taken them all. I was pleased with the accommodations. All hotels were clean and wonderful selections were offered at breakfasts. I would definitely recommend Global to friends and look forward to the next. Thanks Globus for making this trip the wonderful one that it was!
The Globus Tour Director's focus was to oriented to Architecture, but his historical knowledge was interesting. He also planned too many activities each day little time to relax
This was a fabuluous tour of Portugal. Everything went very smoothly, we had a great time, and everything was exactly as described!
This was my first Globus tour, and I was overwhelmingly satisfied with the product. The hotels were excellent in every way--much beyond our expectations. Our guide was competent, experienced and knowledgeable. The trip offered an excellent value for the price. I plan to continue to travel with Globus.
