Tour Itinerary

The mining boom may have been more than a century ago, but it’s never too late to strike gold in America’s West. Filled with dazzling nuggets of wonder, this National Parks vacation takes you deep into the golden wilderness of untamed South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. Back-to-back visits to some of the country’s most renowned national parks bring you face-to-face with the monumental sculptures of Mount Rushmore, the explosive geysers of Yellowstone National Park, and the towering spires of Grand Teton National Park. Plus, visits to the Crazy Horse Memorial, the Little Bighorn Battlefield, and the gold rush towns of Cody, Jackson, and Deadwood shed light on some of the 19th century’s most famous battles and barroom brawls. After meeting herds of elk, bison, and other area locals, city slickers can get their fix with a visit to lively Salt Lake City. Kick off your national parks vacation by kicking around Colorado’s cosmopolitan capital. The list of things to do in the “Mile High City” is easily a mile long. Museums and music, breweries and boutiques, and performing arts and parks await.

Tour Director was the BEST I have ever traveled with superbly organized, professional, always friendly and ready to answer questions and deal with situations. Personable! I would travel with her anytime. The same for Driver!

Excellent agenda with plenty of time at the sites.

The tour director Tom was excellent. The driver Colin was superior. We hit high winds, rain, fog and his driving was exceptional.

Tour director and driver were the best. Very knowledgeable. Great service and value. Upscale accommodations.

Steve was a great driver, very personable and professional. Peyton was a wonderful tour guide. She was knowledgeable and very friendly.

I am not sure that I would book another tour with Globus. Some of the rooms, particularly the cabins at Mammoth Springs were below my Expectations. I don't believe that senior citizens should be in rooms with no phone service or communication of any sort to a front desk. Without 24 hour front desk we could not have received help of any sort if it was needed during the night. Also, a two night stay in Rapid City was not pleasant since it had very little to offer for tourists. The included welcome reception was very poorly organized, the group that came from Denver was asked to leave the room before any refreshments were available. We were in a very small room were seated at tables for the initial welcome. We had no time or room to move around and meet each other. The farewell dinner Was in a very crowded restaurant where we had no contact with each other except for the few people at our separate table. The food was mediocre at best.We have traveled with Globus before and this was beneath their standard. We did see what we wanted to see in the parks but some accommodations were disappointing.

This was my first experience with a tour of this type (bus) and was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the tour director and bus driver were amazing. During the trip, my boyfriend had a medical 'event' and both Daryl and Colin went above and beyond to make sure he (and I) were ok. I can't say enough about how professional and caring they both were. Re; accommodations - the Rushmore Hotel room was just 'ok'. The location, however was fabulous! The Rusic Inn in Jackson was amazing.....loved it. re: the tour - we would recommend that the stop at the capitol building in Salt Lake City be eliminated.Tatanka was a highlight as was Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Cody Museum. All of the stops along the way were spot on....obviously carefully chosen and well worth the visit. We would use Affordable Tours/Globus again in a heartbeat.

I was very disappointed with the room at Mammoth Hot Springs. The location was very good but the room was not up to standards. The room at the Old Faithful Inn, again excellent location but a not great room. All the other accommodations were very good. Overall the itinerary was great and the Globus tour director was excellent. We saw lots of great sights and received a lot of education along the way.

Very good trip - excellent driver and guide

The trip guide and bus driver were great

Our Globus tour far exceeded our expectations. The tour director was excellent. He was very organised, knowledgeable, interesting, amusing and pleasant. The driver was careful ,courteous and pleasant. Every day was a marvellous experience. Crazy Horse Memorial, Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills of Dakota, little Big Horn Battlefield were all stunning. Yellowstone National Park was the most beautiful and interesting place we had ever seen. The Grand Tetons and Salt Lake City were a great ending to the tour. Every day was wonderful. The hotels were good and we particularly liked the Yellowstone Inn, the Rustic Inn at Jackson Hole with its log cabin rooms and the Double Tree hotel at Salt Lake City. All hotels were well chosen.

The tour director and driver were both excellent. The sights were beautiful and both individuals were friendly, organized, professional, knowledgable, courteous and very personable. The meals were excellent and the hotels were good except for the two hotels in Yellowstone which had no air conditioning, TV or wi-fi. There were 2 very long, boring and uncomfortable nights. The locations of the hotels were excellent but there must be some other lace with air conditioning. Other than these 2 hotels, we had a great time and would highly recommend to other customers.

The tour director was exceptional!! He was extremely knowledgeable and made our trip Great.. The Coach driver was also exceptional and made everyone comfortable.

The features of the trip were exceptional, saw so much. The accommodations were beyond my expectations, first class. The tour Director was extremely knowledgeable. definitely got my monies worth!

This was an awesome trip....made even more awesome by the courteous and kind assistance of Affordable Tours staff, and by the Globus company personnel.

Fabulous trip, tour director and driver were better than expected. They made it a fun and enjoyable trip.
