Tour Itinerary

On this Best of Greece tour, discover the highlights of historic and mythical—as well as modern—Greece. As the birthplace of Western civilization, Greece has some of the world’s most fascinating archaeological sites, and now is your chance to explore the Greek mainland and the Peloponnese peninsula. Your affordable tour of Greece starts and ends in Athens with overnights along the way in Nauplia, Sparta, Olympia, Delphi, and Kalambaka. Step back in time as you visit some of Greece's ancient sites where the Mycenaean civilization thrived between 1600 and 1200 BC. Enjoy the included guided sightseeing tour of the Mycenae archaeological site and learn about its history and legends. In Athens, visit the Acropolis, still standing after 2,500 years. Your Local Guide will give you many insights on this ancient masterpiece. Dedicated to the goddess Athena, the Acropolis sits high on a rocky hill and is a symbol of the wealth and power of Athens at its apex. In Epidaurus, climb the limestone steps of the amazingly well-preserved, 2,300-year-old open-air theatre and marvel at the perfect acoustics. You'll step back into the Middle Ages when you walk around the medieval Byzantine Citadel of Mystra, a castle founded in 1249. You’ll also love the mystic mountain landscape of Meteora with its 24 rock-top monasteries set in almost inaccessible sandstone peaks. On this affordable Greece tour, you’ll travel to Olympia, legendary home of the Olympic Games, and Delphi, where people visited in ancient Greece to seek the advice of the Oracle. But that’s not all…you’ll experience modern Greece as well, as you cross over one of the world's longest cable-stayed bridge, the spectacular Rion-Antirion Bridge, linking the Peloponnese peninsula to the Greek mainland. From ancient ruins to contemporary engineering —with beautiful landscapes in between—this affordable Greece tour is perfectly designed for value-minded travel lovers. You’ll agree that your Greece vacation is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The tour schedule was according to expectations but it could have been much better if tour guides would have been assigned for the museum visits. We only had tour guides for archeological sites and they were barely of one hour duration. The rest was on us to "explore" with very limited time. In Myrnas we were provided with a map that was inaccurate and I missed visiting a very important monastery because I couldn't find it. This is unacceptable.

Trip with Cosmos was great. Director was helpful and very knowledgeable. I would book again with Cosmos

Strongly feel that Cosmos is good value for money. The Tour Directors are extremely efficient and knowledgable.

My husband and I had a great experienced during our Greece tour with excellent tour guide George & coach driver Flavio... the places we went were ancient Greeks started history...lots of museums and artifacts from ancient times...mountainous place srounding Greece The amazingly orthodox monastery on top of the hill w/ 130 steps...wow I made it to the top really! We found one Roman Catholic Church the St Dionysius just one English mass & 6:30 pm on Sundays, the rest are Greek masses were we attended the 11am mass about 15 min from Wyndham hotel There's only 3 hotels w/c i lke most during our stay: Hyatt, Meteora & Wyndham, the rest are not a good place to stay Our last day optional Greek dinner & dance were superb...overall, we enjoyed our tour & again we can't thank you enough George & Flavio for everything

Highly recommended Moe, Great booking coordinator

I have now taken two trips booked through Affordable Tours and both have worked out perfectly.

The greek dinner and dancing which took place on the last day of the tour should have been sooner, on the first couple of days of the tour.

Great tour, knowledgeable tour guide and exceptional bus driver.

The tour director was absolutely tops - a walking history book with insight to Greece from formation to current time; very personable with concern for the safety and well being of all the passengers on the trip. The coach driver was without doubt a very proficient professional driver who safely delivered all of us around switch backs and hair pin turns in the mountains or many miles.

The cabin on the ship was terrible. The cruise staff was not helpful and did not want to hear our complaints. We asked for, another cabin and were told there were none however when the people in the next cabin asked they were moved. The cabins near the staff service area should not be made available as the door opens and closes all day and night making it difficult to rest or sleep. We paid extra for an outside cabin and it was terrible. Also the ship itself needs a lot of work. If this was our first cruise, I would never go on another. We have no complaints and only compliments for the land part of our trip. The tour guide was excellent.

My experience on The Best of Greece was amazing. The staff of Cosmos was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I will be planning our third trip with Cosmo for next year 2017.

We enjoyed our Greece trip. We especially loved the hotels in Athens and Olympia. Unfortunately they had a fire in hotel Acropole in Delphi. Our tour director handled the situation on a high profession level and nobody got hurt.

The optional tours in Delphi and Olympia should have been included tours, They were not extentions but the essential way to see those sites. Other sites with similar the best available. Ours such as the accropols were included, All had similar local guides to supplemen the tour leader. The hotel Coral in Athens was not up to the 4 star rating it has., Hotels in the small towns were basic, but probablu t
