The trip to Scandinavia covered 3 countries - Denmark, Norway and Sweden. It was very fast paced at times but that was required in order to cover the many areas we visited. We stayed longer in some cities than in others with several stops being only for one night. I found the stops where we stayed two nights to be more enjoyable and relaxing. In all, we got to see and experience a lot in a short time which would have been difficult to accomplish outside of an organized group tour. All in all, it was a wonderful trip and very well organized. The Tour Director, Dewi, was excellent and addressed all our concerns.

The trip was nice. The only problem was I wish we had more free time in Oslo.

Cosmos's Focus On Scandinavia tour was a truly wonderful and life-changing experience! I hope to do another one soon!

Tour Guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. The driver was so nice and helpful and a very good driver. He kept the bus spotless and very helpful with luggage. They both made the tour so enjoyable!

Great bus. Nicely varied itinerary. Knowledgeable guides. Director knows exactly what she is doing. Good accommodations except we missed having AC someplaces. Norway is so scenically spectacular. Good food at the hotels. Skilled bus driver. Good hotel locations except Brommer Stcokholm wasn't as good but ok. Fellow passengers were cooperative and pleasant. And again, I enjoyed the variety of places we visited and things we did. A well run experience.

COSMOS is a good choice for tours.

The trip was interesting but some of the bus rides were very long. It would have been nice to break for a few more stops to just take a few more photos that weren't out of the bus window. For the last day in Stockholm it would have been good to stay somewhere closer to town not out by an airport that we weren't even leaving from.

There were 44 people in our tour,to my opinion it should not be more than 30.Spent to much time travelling on the road, less time sightseeing.in some hotels WiFi was not working in the rooms,Porter service was not provided in couple of hotels.

I enjoyed the trip very much but found the "Scandic" chain of hotels seemed more like a hostel than a hotel. No amenities at all and the space of a laundry room to sleep in. I have never had to use public transportation while on vacation to reach the tourist areas of a city before. The Scandics we stayed in were not conveniently located next to anything. I think from here forward we will stick with Globus rather than Cosmos.

It was a thoroughly engaging and enjoyable adventure.

The tour we had was amazing. Our tour leader was very knowledgeable and helpful. And also our driver was ver good. It was a nice experience and was a good tour.

Tour Director and Driver were simply great.

The tour director, Simona, was very kind and considerable so that we enjoyed the trip.

All the tour guides were very good and gave great presentations. Our bus driver was fabulous. He managed to get us every where on time. All of the hotels were of good quality and the food was great.

We returned last night from our trip to Scandinavia, and we are very pleased regarding the help we received in planning the trip as well as well as all of the logistics being carried out perfectly. MacKenzie was very helpful and responsive to all of my questions. From our flight to Copenhagen and our transport from the airport the first hotel to the transport to the Stockholm airport, everything went smoothly. The trip unfolded as advertised and the cost was good considering the high costs we discovered in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

The weather was unusually warm and most hotels did not have air condition, except for 2 of them. But the air conditioners was not even working in one of those hotels. Some hotels do offer fans but the rooms were too warm for comfort and sleep.

Our Scandinavia tour was most enjoyable. AffordableTours gave us a great deal and provided excellent service from the time of booking to the last day on the tour. We appreciate their service and will consider their service for a future tour.

Several hotels didn't have refrigerators and as you know in Europe, etc. cold drinks and ice are at a premium. Would have liked one for snacks also. Several hotels didn't have baggage transfers from bus to hotel and back. The tour guide had to handle bags herself for some of the older travelers.

Persons with ambulatory/physical and/or health difficulties should not consider taking this Cosmos tour as there is a lot of walking (some on cobble stone streets) and it is a steady pace. Beautiful part of the world to experience from the scenic to the historical.

The first and last hotels were very inconvenient and the last night dinner was awful. One of the excursions in Oslo was overpriced. Breakfasts were very good and tour guide outstanding. There was also way too much time on the bus but there were many stops. Again first and last hotel awful locations.

I was very disappointed by the location of the hotels in Copenhagen and Stockholm. They were far from the city and negatively impacted our experiences in those cities. The welcome dinner and the farewell dinner were horrible. Buffet is fine but the choices were extremely limited. And the food was mediocre. At the farewell dinner there was one choice for dinner and it was a crumb cake that was mostly crumb and not much filling. I also felt that the optional dinner in Oslo was mediocre. The location was fine but the actual dinner was not worth the money.

Every trip is a compromise and this one had its share. Additionally there will always be instances where I would have liked to stay in a particular place longer. Examples: 1) The stop at the Vimork heavy water facility was one of those. We got to see almost nothing of why we stopped there. Mostly this was an issue with the facility itself which apparently didn't offer any kind of tour of the WWII raid that made it famous. Cosmos could have helped this by either entering or leaving via the route that the train took or passed by the dock where the boat was loaded with the heavy water being shipped to Germany. 2) Another limitation was the stop at Lillehammer where we made a 20 minute stop at the ski jump but did nothing else. The hotels were fine with the exception of the one at Bergen where the only dinner option was hamburgers. One thing I would like for tour companies such as Cosmos to factor in, is the ability to get laundry done along the way. Without this we must 1) pack an excessive amount of clothes, 2) wear clothes too many days or 3) in the rare instances where laundry is available, the cost is higher that the costs of buying clothes! Please address this.

We had a wonderful trip to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and the guide and driver were Very, Very Good and Helpful. We visited so much of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden within the time frame of the Trip. My favorite is Norway. But the hotel in Stockholm was very far from city center, Thanks to Tour Guide for her assistance and guidance during the trip.

This was the best vacation my kids and I have ever taken! Everything was better than expected and Affordable Tours explained everything we needed to know.

We booked our flight with this operator too and we had great connecting flights from the USA (Minneapolis) to Copenhagen via Amsterdam. We had time to get through the passport checks and make our connecting flights. Our travel papers were in order and had all the information we needed. At the Copenhagen airport our "hostess" was there as indicated in the travel papers. The itinerary was followed, hotels were nice (small rooms but we were not in them very much) and the breaksfast buffets amazing. We did enjoy the little bit of free time we had but also enjoyed the sightseeing aspect of the tour. Would I book again this type of tour? I do enjoy getting out and participating in the outdoor activities so will probably look for a tour that has more activities and not so much sightseeing.

Too much time on bus. When we arrived at a destination there was insufficient time.

It was my first Cosmos Tour and I was a very much happy traveller with the experience . The tour director and bus tour driver were very helpful professionals.

The COSMOS tour to Scandinavia was very good, though with three countries in 12 days, some days were a bit rushed. Also, several others, as well as myself, would have liked to have more time in some places and less in others, but generally, all things considered, the timing worked well, and the tour covered beautiful countries. The guide and the bus driver were superb, and they helped make the tour a success. The guide did a good job of community building, which lead to a happy and collegial group of travelers. I would suggest that name tags, at least at first, would be helpful.

I believe the hotels were four star, but for the reduced cost, we got what we paid for. The hotels located away from the major cities were the very best in our estimation. Our tour guide was Serbian, and was very helpful and accommodating, but I believe a Scandinavian tour guide in Scandinavia could have given us a better insight into the locale. We had to take an unexpected detour from the itinerary route due to a change in one of the ferry's schedules, but our guide handled it very well, and personally, I think the detour was better than the planned route. The coach and driver were excellent. It seemed like a lot of driving from one place to another, but perhaps that is simply our age catching up to us. Our airline flights worked out fine. Their was one glitch in having a one hour delay in leaving Cleveland, but with a five hour layover in Toronto, it all worked out just fine. All in all, Scandinavia was a very good experience. My wife, who does not like to travel, even liked it.

This was a great trip! We had a full coach, about 41 folks, and it was one of those times when nearly everyone in the tour connected. We all had a great time laughing, sharing, visiting and enjoying our shared experiences.

The meals provided were very good, the hotels were all clean, quiet and relatively comfortable. The hotel locations were nearly all very good. Our coach driver and our Tour Director were top notch, friendly and helpful. The included excursions as well as the optional ones were well coordinated and well done. We had excellent city guides for those tours, and it was just a wonderful experience. We were also extremely fortunate in having, for the most part, spectacular weather ... especially the day on the Norwegian fjord: sunny, mild and nearly perfect in every way.

Four observations and two criticisms:
Observations:
1. We had limited time in Oslo, Norway so I know we could not do much, but it would have been nice to visit the Viking Ship Museum, and perhaps the Resistance Museum about Norway in WWII. Especially the Viking Ship Museum which is world famous.

2. The planned Lillihammer stop would have been disappointing ... but a change of plans by chance made it much more memorable. Our stop was simply a photo shoot stop, a few minutes from the top of the Olympic ski jump. Yawn. But, as luck would have it, the road to the top was closed and we could not get there. So, our tour guide instead took us to a local open-air museum, depicting life around the late 1800s, early 1900s in that area. The gate was open and we were able to wander around and that was an unexpected pleasure and a much better experience than looking down a ski jump.

3. We had a malfunction with our brand new bus, resulting in our making several stops to attempt repairs (we were in a very rural area hours away from services), and finally we limped into a small town where we awaited a replacement bus. The whole experience was extremely well handled by our driver and Director, and everyone was very goodnatured about it. At the town where we waited, in addition to lucking out and having great weather, we stopped at a park next to a fully flowing river and it was a very pleasant experience. Again, very well handled by the staff.

4. The "whisper" devices, portable receivers with earpieces to hear local guides, had ear pieces designed for the ears of children (extremely small) and were thus extremely uncomfortable to wear/use ... many resorted to simply holding the device near their ear and cranking up the volume ... which became uncomfortable having to hold the device for an hour or more excursion. But please do NOT replace them with the dreaded "earbuds."

Criticisms:
1. This has happened now twice in my experience with Cosmos. No notification is provided to customers that the important travel documents for the trip are being shipped. And, they are not delivered by U.S. Mail. As a result, for my last two trips, material simply showed up on my doorstep, while I was away for a day or two, and there were rain events. Thus my travel documents were received wet. A simple notification as to time of shipment and method would have allowed me to alert a neighbor or friend to pick up the document to prevent damage ... or if the items were shipped in water-proof envelopes ... or if they were shipped via U.S. Mail they would have been in my mailbox, not simply thrown on the doorstep by another delivery service.. Also, not knowing they had been shipped, and my being away, it meant that sensitive information was left unattended on my doorstep where anyone could have easily stolen them.

2. Our first hotel, in Copenhagen, where we spent two nights, while offering good accommodations, was disastrously managed by the hotel staff. They refused to open the breakfast room until 7:30, and the tour groups were all trying to leave at 8:15 or 8:30. The place had 4 big bus loads of tour groups, plus regular customers, so when the doors opened there was a massive sea of humaity attempting to get into the breakfast room. The serving lines were not the same on each side (a buffet), there was not enough seating for 20% of the people eating, the staff tried but simply was not able to keep up with the refilling of food and beverages, and it was simply a disastrous situation. The second morning was a re-run of the day before. Our folks were good-natured about it and someone made the quip that it was a Viking Breakfast: Survival of the Fittest. I put a review on a well-known trip planning/review site and entitled it: Viking Breakfast: Murder, Mayhem and Survival of the Fittest. Murder because of the near murderous attitude of the extremely rude and downright nasty behavior of the abundant Chinese tourists who would literally grab utensils out of your hand when you were trying to fill your plate. Abysmal. Please Note: This was NOT the fault of Cosmos nor our Tour staff, it was a TOTAL failure and gross incompetence on the part of the hotel management, who simply refused to open the breakfast room early enough to allow patrons enough time for a leisurely breakfast, and for failing to have a seating area adequate to handle reasonable numbers of people, let along an event in which the hotel was booked to capacity. I am sure when the hotel was checked out by Cosmos, it was not full so there was no reason to be concerned. However, unless this hotel can get its preverbial crap together, Cosmos would be well to totally blacklist this hotel from any future business. It was the most screwed up disaster of a situation I have ever experienced in my entire 62-years! The Absolute Worst.

Beautiful trip, the only recommendation is to spend more time in Oslo .

The Scandinavian trip was a wonderful experience. The accomodations were nice, the dinners provided were excellent, and the tour guide was highly qualified, pleasant, and efficient in making the trip run smoothly. This was my family's first experience with Affordable Tours, and I would definitely recommend this company to relatives and friends. I was also impressed with the level of help and support I received when planning for and booking the tour.

I should have remembered you get what you pay for. Cosmos was a budget tour and that showed up in all it's choices, especially sightseeing and hotels and their locations. Also I almost always pay a single supplement and over time I have learned that even though I am paying more I will receive a lot less in the way of location, style and size of rooms. This seemed to be especially true on this particular tour.

We enjoyed the trip and the weather was perfect. The only negative was another member of the group who was bossy and aggravating. She has been on many Cosmos tours (10) but acted very rude. loud and wanted things her way. The tour guide handled her well. Our stay in Stockholm was very far out of the city; one had to take the optional tour to get to the city in the evening.

Value good but would have been nice to be closer to Stockholm center. Copenhagen at least was on the bus route so was inexpensive to get there.

We were not happy with the rooms. Three of us took the package and wanted to stay in one room - but the rooms were very small for three adults!!! Some of the hotels were far from City center - it was an inconvenience!!!

It has been an excellent experience in all aspects!

We I had a wonderful trip to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and the Guide and Driver were Very, Very, Very good. We saw so much of Denmark, Oslo, Norway, and Sweden that the time flew bye and we were back in Chicago.

I've continued to book Cosmos trips with Affordable Tours because I've always had a positive experience with both companies.

Overall the trip was good. Only one hotel, the Quality airport hotel in Copenhagen did not meet expectations in terms of location, service and food. Time spent in Oslo was too short; only had time for one museum & no time for lunch. Some of the optional tours were too expensive especially the Gamla Stan+dinner and Vasa museum in Stockholm. Bergen optional tours should have been included in the itinerary.

The dedication and professionalism by the tour director and our coach driver were simply commendable.

Great tour and very helpful staff!

Very happy with entire experience from "initial talks", to booking, to trip itself . . .

This was a GREAT trip!!! I would highly recommend this as an introduction to Scandinavia.

Location of the first hotel in Copenhagen and last hotel in Stockholm was not comfortable. It was too far from the city center. Otherwise everything was very good. Thank you.

the tour director was very helpful when we found out that a couple of our friends were separated from us. she made sure that they could be moved back to our group, and sure enough. we were all reunited on that day, and be together for the rest of the tour.

My only problem was that a tour guide hired for an optional tour left me behind at a castle in Denmark and I was forced to travel back on my own to the hotel which took over 2 hours while my bag with my maps and tour info (including the hotel numbers) was on the bus. But the tour director was exceptional and extremely helpful

We had a wonderful time on our Scandinavian tour, especially loving Norway. Our tour director was very nice but inexperienced and left out lots of detail. On the other-hand, our driver was marvelous and did much more to make our trip a success. He went above and beyond, for example, he even did translations for us among other things.

Thank you, the trip was pretty much full on and busy. The view of Gothenborg from the ferry was an unexpected pleasure. Perhaps I will visit this city next time around. Our tour guide was great, making sure we had seen everything we wanted to see in all the cities we visited.

We had a wonderful trip. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the countries we were in and the people and history of each, that it made it so much more meaningful. She was always concerned about our needs, and making sure we had the information we needed for each day. We both enjoyed the trip immensely. Thank you for putting together all the arrangements.

It needs to include museums to the itinerary as " Globus" does.
