Arrive in Amsterdam, known for its historic canals, gabled buildings and artistic heritage. Transfer to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. DAY 3, Tuesday - Explore Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum, Visit Windmill, Canal Cruise
Today's walking tour of 700-year-old Amsterdam gives you an insider's look of the city. Begin your exploration in the Jordaan district. Then, view the Royal Palace on Amsterdam's Dam Square, the Dutch National Monument dedicated by Queen Juliana as a memorial to the victims of WWII and Nieuwmarkt with the most impressive of Amsterdam's remaining city gates. Afterward, visit the world-famous Rijksmuseum with its vast collection of works from great artists including the Dutch masters Vermeer and Rembrandt. This afternoon, head north of Amsterdam to the Museum Molen. Here, visit an authentic windmill, and meet a local miller. This evening, board a glass-top boat for a cruise of the winding canals of historic Amsterdam for an up-close view of stately historic mansions, 16th century gabled merchant houses, and charming churches with bell towers

DAY 4, Wednesday - Delta Works, Travel to Ghent
Begin the day with a visit to the Delta Works. After the 1953 flood in the Netherlands, the Delta Plan was created to prevent a disaster from ever happening again. Taking 30 years to complete, the storm flood barrier, almost six miles long, stands as the final defense in the battle against the water and is considered a technical miracle. Following the visit, travel to Ghent, a port city in northwestern Belgium, with a wealth of medieval and classical architecture. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. DAY 5, Thursday - Ghent, the Historic Flanders Port, Medieval Bruges, Chocolatier Demonstration
Discover the historic Flanders port of Ghent today. The tour includes views of the 7th century St. Bavo's Cathedral and Gravensteen Castle. At the town center, view the gigantic belfry, a symbol of the city's independence and the Gothic style Cloth Hall, glorifying the city's major industry. In the afternoon, travel to Bruges, also known as the "Venice of the North" and home to some of Europe's best-preserved medieval buildings. Here, view the Beguinage Convent and walk along the picturesque winding cobbled alleys. View the Market Square and belfry, and the Town Hall Square with its Chapel of the Holy Blood. In the afternoon, cross into Belgium, and stop at Bastogne, scene of the infamous Battle of the Bulge and visit the Bastogne War Museum. Return to Luxembourg City for dinner and overnight

DAY 8, Sunday - Multicultural Strasbourg, Picturesque Obernai, Cooking Class
Depart Luxembourg and head to Strasbourg in France, capital of Alsace and seat of the European Parliament. Arrive in Strasbourg in time for lunch at a local restaurant. Later, take a walking tour of this picturesque city with its blend of French and German cultures. Wander through the magical La Petite France district, home to quaint shops and charming bistros and to Place Kleber, a large historic square. Great trip for those that want to visit Normandie and the Mediterranean Coast of France. Plenty of time for lunches and shopping at most stops. Nice to have two nights at each stop.
This was our first tour and it far exceeded our expectations! Our trip through Central Europe was amazing!! We would definitely book another trip with Gate 1.

Our travel advisor was great and was very friendly and responsive to all of our many questions. She made us feel at ease as she walked us through the process. The Gate 1 Tour Guide and driver for our trip were absolutely wonderful, they really added to the amazing experience we had for the two weeks. I would choose Affordable Tours and Gate 1 again, they were a winning combination.
This trip was fantastic. My wife and I are indeed quite pleased with the entire trip. Iceland is very beautiful. We saw more than what was in the itinerary. The Tour Manager was excellent, no doubt about that. She made few stops on the way where the scenery was perfect for pictures or just for enjoying the nature. The actual tour started on the morning of day 2, after breakfast. We did not feel rushed when we went sightseeing. Lunch was arranged for us when we were in remote places. Every day, we were in the hotel before 6 pm so that there was enough time to rest/sleep after dinner or go outside for a walk after dinner (it was bright even after 11:30 pm in July). The local people are very friendly and all of them speak English. We have made many trips with Gate1 Travels in the past and we have not been disappointed and we plan to continue to use Gate1Travels in future.
I believe Gate One Discovery Tours offer outstanding value & are specially suited for seniors.

This is my 2nd tour trip with Gate 1 and I only have praises for their completed outstanding services. Everything was planned for just to ensure our enjoyment and security. They even have the extra arrangements for any assistance in emergency medical conditions. My husband came down with the early stage of pneumonia and the tour guide helped us from going to the hospital and staying with us the whole time and also got the local medical staff provided by Gate 1 to assist every single steps along the way. They even drove us to the pharmacy at midnight after the hospital discharged.
Our Tour Director was outstanding! He ensured everyone on the tour had an enjoyable experience! I Would definitely travel with Gate 1 again.

The Gate 1 Discovery tours are very good and well worth the extra cost. We had only 16 participants on the trip and everyone got along well. They used the large bus and everyone had their own seat if they wanted it. The hotels on trip were above average.
