The Cosmos 7 country tour was exciting but rushed. Unfortunately, our tour director was unorganized and did not provide a good introduction to each country visited and the logistics. I felt pushed from one place to another. The Hotels were very small, clean, with bare amenities. I would NOT recommend a double room accommodation. The Penta Hotel in Belgium, terrible and should be taken off. Dijon, France, is just a stopover to sleep, not to sightsee. The arrival time at each hotel was about 6 pm check-in, sometimes leaving the group with little or no options for dinner. The bus driver was a very careful driver. The bus made many 15-minute restroom stops. Luggage handling is on your own throughout the trip. A lot of walking.
This is a great trip. If you are interested in seeing a lot of Europe in a compressed time frame consider booking this adventure. Overall one of the best experiences my wife and I have had traveling. With that said, here are a few things to consider before booking. I'm 76 and have had hip replacement surgeries within the past couple of years. This trip was difficult for me (but doable). Be prepared for lots of walking and fairly long bus rides. Your day will start early (bus departures from hotels at 730 AM) and end late (if you take advantage of optional excursions which we highly recommend).. This is a popular tour. There were 3 tour buses that left our hotel in London. Same itinerary but each bus had their own tour guide. Cosmos tried to stagger departure and arrival times between the 3 groups. But if there were any issues with traffic we quite often arrived at excursions or hotel at or near the same time. ( We all were staying at the same hotels). So, checking in and of hotels and or queuing up for excursions was often time consuming. Also the included breakfast were great but with 3 bus loads of tourist once again the lines were sometimes long. You need to have some patience, you will be experiencing wonderful places to see, but keep in mind that these places are world famous. So expect crowds..
The hotels in general were very nice but not in the best locations where there were restaurants
It's worth the trip, the tour is amazing.. the tour guide and the driver was excellent. I will choose our agent on my next adventure.. actually, I gave his name already to my newly friends from previous tour.. highly recommend
Best vacation, totally worth it. We had the best tour guide
Very organized and when adjustments are needed all necessary arrangements are made. Well-educated and courteous tour guide and expert bus driver
No luggage porters. They are needed even iif price is increase.
Kasia was the best tour guide I've had on any trip!! She made the experience amazing with her stories, jokes and making sure we were always on time and knew where we were hoping. Giovanni was an amazing driver!!! No clue how he manages that traffic and small streets without any issues. Best trip yet!!!! I am hoping to get them both for another trip again.
We visited 7 countries to get a taste of Europe and figure out where to go back and visit. We have mixed feelings about the trip. Mainly, the disappointment comes from the fact that Paris is specifically mentioned in the name of the tour however our time in Paris was extremely limited, a few hours at most, and we did not even get to see the Eiffel tower up close. Here is our review for the Seven Countries, Venice & Paris trip we just completed: We booked this tour through Affordabletours.com because the price was reasonable. We wanted to experience a taste of multiple European countries to see which ones we would like to go back and visit for a longer vacation in the future. This trip pretty much gave us what we wanted and expected. EXCEPT for Paris. Paris should NOT be listed in the title of this vacation package. Time in Paris was so very limited that it was a HUGE disappointment! By the time you reach Paris, on the very last day of your tour, there is no real time to spend seeing any of the sites. Upon arrival, we had about 2 hours of free time to eat lunch, walk to Notre Dame for photos and purchase souvenirs. The walk to Notre Dame took most of that time, so shopping was pretty much just grab something to say you shopped in Paris. They offered a city tour (that also included a farewell dinner), which we signed up for at an extra cost of $67 per person ($134 as a couple), but it was so fast that you barely had time to take any photos of the monuments that were pointed out. Most of the photos had to be taken through the bus window, which was difficult if you were on the opposite side of the coach from the attraction that you wanted to photograph. There were round seat belt warning signs stuck in the middle of the windows, so when you tried to take a photo across the aisle, it was impossible to avoid the sticker in your frame. Plus, the USB ports were in the ceiling of the bus, so you also had other passenger's charging cables in your photos. There were only 2 stops during this city tour, one at the Arc de Triumph, which did allow for some good photos and the other was several blocks from the Eiffel Tower. As you can imagine, the photos were poor and the disappointment was HUGE. My first time in Paris and NO photos AT the Eiffel Tower! Overall this was a great trip for the cost and provided exactly what we wanted, except for feeling shortchanged Paris. I would suggest that they add another day to the tour so that you get to spend a reasonable amount of time in this beautiful city. Especially since Paris is listed in the title of the tour! That felt misleading. If you choose this tour and have the ability to stay an extra day in Paris, I would STRONGLY recommend that you do. We went a day early and spent an extra day in London, which was GREAT, but I wish we had also booked an extra day in Paris. The farewell dinner was wonderful. Saying goodbye to newly made friends, good food and music. I have seen in many of the reviews that past travelers have complained about the amount of time spent on the bus. You do spend time riding, but how else would you be able to experience 7 countries in this short amount of time? Our tour guide, Britt, was GREAT! She was very knowledgeable, funny and charming. The driver of the coach was Hank. He did a great job in getting us across 7 countries safely and handling our luggage in and out of the coach at overnight hotel stops. The only real overnight stop/luggage issue was that some of the hotels did not have porters for the luggage and you had to take your own luggage to the room. As you can imagine, with 50 people, each with 2 bags, all trying to get on an elevator (several times there was only one or at most 2) at the same time to go to their rooms.. well, it got a little chaotic at times. The hotels were mostly good. They were smaller than what we are accustomed to in the US, but that was to be expected. However, there was one room, in Frankfurt Germany, that was pretty ridiculously small. As in your knees touched the bathroom wall when you were on the toilet and you had to open the shower door to lean over to wash your feet or shave your legs! But hey it was only one night! WHAT WE DID ALONG the WAY: We booked a full day city tour of London through Viator, which was wonderful. Next we went to Brussels on the EuroStar, a bullet trainand that was amazing beautiful and ohhhhh the chocolates in Austria, and Switzerland! We made a stop in Boppard Germany and took a river cruise on the Rhine, which was beautiful. We made a stop in Rothenburg Germany. It was a beautiful, picturesque place for shopping and photos. We enjoyed the leisure time there. After spending the night in Frankfurt, we drove through a gorgeous mountain pass to Innsbruck Austria where we visited the Swarovski Crystal Museum. That was great! Next was Venice, which was not a favorite of mine, but we did do a gondola ride what else are you going to do in Venice, right? The gondola ride stated that we would be serenaded, which consisted of a guy in a different boat from us and we had to try to hear from behind. In my opinion, it was very overpriced for what you actually got. Also, it's worth noting that getting in and out of the Gondola is a little challenging. Maybe you should consider skipping this excursion if you are mobility impaired at all in any way. One lady on our tour fell getting out of the gondola and really hurt her knee. It made the rest of the trip difficult and painful for her. At very least, there should have been more assistance provided to her for getting in and out of the vessel. We made a stop in Verona Italy that was really nice! Lots of shopping available, saw a beautiful coliseum and wonderful food! Next was Lucerne Switzerland ABSOLUTELY amazing! Yes, I will return! I highly recommend purchasing the Ascent up Mount Stanserhorn in Switzerland! It was $78, but worth EVERY penny! The views were breathtaking! From Switzerland, there was a lot of time spent in transport on our way to Paris. We stopped in Dijon to spend the night. It was too late for any site seeing, so we took a walk, found a nice little restaurant across the street, had dinner and went back to the hotel. The next morning we drove to Paris, a four hour drive (with a restroom stop along the way) and that is where the big disappointment was. That part of the trip needs to be re-examined to make it better. With the distance between Lucerne and Paris, an additional day is the only solution that I see. If you want to cover a lot of territory in one trip, this package is great! If you do not want to spend vacation time fast paced and moving from place to place every day, you might consider something with less miles to cover. We loved it¦ well, everything except the shortchange in Paris!!!
Fast pace trip late to bed early to rise
Tula was great in helping us have the best trip. She was very knowledgeable and efficient. We plan on calling her for our next trip.
The best trip we've had so far! I think I can speak for the group based on our collective reaction - we had a en excellent driver, Massimo, and an excellent tour Director, Budi. Massimo was courteous, accommodating, went the "extra mile" for the group's enjoyment. Our Tour director was fluent in English , Flemish, German, Italian, and French, and gave excellent commentaries and very helpful tips along the way. We had so much fun! Would do it again in a heartbeat...different location, of course! We purchased 3 extra excursions: The Gondola ride in Venice, Mt Stanserhorn in Switzerland, and the Cosmos Farewell dinner and an orientation drive in Paris. I highly recommend those 3 excursions! In the summit of Mt Stanserhorn, there's a restaurant...a must try is the Alpler Magrone (good for 2 but actually good for 4 people), The farewell dinner was not just a 4 course French dinner, it was a PARTY!!!!
I have good experiences with the director and the Driver very great job The Ramada Hotel was not the best place at all
We thoroughly enjoyed this vacation with COSMOS. The coach driver and tour director was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and friendly. I will definitely book another vacation with COSMOS in the future.
Derek kept me well-informed. As a first-timer, I thought his help was very valuable.
Amazing itinerary, great transportation/accomodations and tour guide. Wonderful experience. Everything was well-coordinated and comfortable. Thank you.
I really enjoyed my trip. You planned for most of the main tourist attractions to be seen in each country and Szolt was a great tour guide.
Britt, our tour guide, was absolutely fabulous! Antonio, our driver, was great too!
The tour was well planned out and executed overall. I would have wanted more information as to what each destination's itinerary was planned to be (i.e. where we plan to go/see/do). Personally I feel the cities on the itinerary were too far apart, requiring far too much driving daily (probably averaging about 6 hours per day and with rest breaks this reaches probably 7-8 hours in transit daily). I was hoping to have at least a few hours continuously to explore each city rather than having short bouts to walk around small areas that I didn't know anything about. Dijon ended up being just for the overnight stay; however the food options in the area around the hotel were fantastic. All hotels and coach exceeded my expectations and were a pleasant surprise. Overall, if I were to book a trip of this format again, i would definitely research the estimated travel time between destination cities and request more information as to what was planned for each city.
Another thing was that we didn't even go to Austria it was just driving across on freeway and also boat ride to romantic river wasn't done
Staff (Linda) very knowledgeable, helpful, organized everything perfectly. They do all the planning and have clout to get best deals. Great value, great trip. Would book with Affordable Tours & Cosmos again.
Travelers with disability should be warn that the tour is fast paced and tour bus have stairs and most excusions involved walking and some with no wheelchair access.
I had a wonderful experience with Affordable Tours.com. The travel consultant was outstanding. The tour director was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable. She was a great leader. She was respectful and patient. She did her best to make sure everybody was happy. The driver was very careful and punctual. If I ever tour again, I would want to have them both as my tour director and driver.
This was a once in a lifetime experience with my daughter and granddaughters. A wonderful tour and tour and it gave the next-generation the same travel bug!
The trip itinerary described a trip down the romantic road in Germany. We stayed on the highway and didn't go through the little towns as the description would lead you to believe. We sat in traffic on the highway, so going through the little towns would have been a better choice.
It was a whirlwind trip/travel covering all seven countries in 10 days. Overall, the experience was great even if it was very tiring to be checking in and out different hotels/countries everyday. My travel companion/friend encountered a problem in a Dijon, France hotel when she started itching with some kind of insect bites during the night. We noted it down on the comment form and informed the travel agency.
Hotel locations were not to my liking. Several hotels did not provide luggage portage service. Booklets were not sent to us, we had to print travel information at home (25 pages),. Very cumbersome to travel with.
We had a great time with the European seven countries group tour. It was fast paced but so much fun. We saw and took photos of all the beautiful places in each stops.
We really enjoyed the tour. Some of the accommodations were ok. One of the hotels did not provide Wi-Fi.
