Simona was outstanding tour director she took care of everything. Special treats each day of trip were found on seat, like orange drinks, candy bars. She served several times small samples of scotish liquor. Eian driver was terrific. Highly recommend this tour and these individuals.
In many of the towns we visited in Scotland, there were one or two hotels available. They are not the standard of most hotels where tours usually book. Having lived in England, I was used to these accommodations, but I think many of the tour participants were not. It might be a good idea to emphasize this in future bookings.
First time using Trafalgar. Tour director, Gary, was phenomenal! There was an elderly lady with dementia on our trip who was traveling alone. Gary had her checked out at hospital when she was found sitting in the hotel lobby with her bags at 9:00 at night by another tour member. Her family refused to take her from hospital and she came along the tour. Gary was so incredibly kind and patient with her. I know he was an angel on earth when we saw him escorting her to one of the included sites and carrying her handbag as she held his arm with one hand and her cane in the other. What a great guy!! He managed to take care of the rest of the 47 people on the tour as well with no problems. This tour, although slower paced because of the above situation, was a great experience. Gary even took this lady to the airport and made sure she made it to her flight home and contacted her family to make sure she would be met at her arrival. Restored my faith in humanity!!
It was a great tour.
All was good except I didn't expect so many optional expenses for meals and excursions and the expectation of tips to the driver and trip leader. Other tours I have taken have included most meals and all excursions.

I really enjoyed the trip. We visited almost all of the places in the itinerary. We did not visit Loch Lomond, but by then everyone was ready for an afternoon on our own before packing to leave the country, Our guide was very good and explained changes to what was in the itinerary. The "Make Travel Matter", which was supposed to be a farm visit, turned out to be lunch and a show with no farm animals or fields in sight. A trip to a farm with Highland Cows would have been much much better, since the "cows" are so touted, but are few and far between. One hotel in particular was far less than what we expected. Although we expected smaller rooms than in the US, this one was barely big enough for one person, no less two. There was no place to put even one suitcase and we couldn't squeeze past one another between the ends of the beds and the desk ( which held one of the suitcases). We needed help to open a window to relieve the stuffiness. If you take this trip, don't expect outlets to be near the beds. Although we had airport transfers as part of the tour, our departure was early and we had to pay for a taxi. Other companies I've traveled with paid for taxis when they were necessary.
