Welcome to New Zealand! Arrive in Auckland, the country's largest city, often called the City of Sails, due to its harborside location. Arrive and check into your hotel. Later, begin the exploration of the vibrant Auckland waterfront area. Admire views across the stunning Waitemata harbor to the volcanic Island of Rangitoto. Return to the hotel. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 5 PM, followed by dinner at a lovely harborside restaurant. We recommend you select flights which arrive no later than 1 PM

DAY 4, Monday - Devonport Village
Begin the day with a short walk to the wharf. Travel by ferry, across the harbor, to the charming village of Devonport. Walk along the paths to the small summit of Takarunga Mount Victoria, offering panoramic views of Auckland City. Next, explore the village with its plethora of cafes, pubs and boutique shops, or relax by the beach. Return to the hotel and spend the balance of the day at leisure

DAY 5, Tuesday - Flight to Christchurch, Walking Tour of Christchurch
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Christchurch in the South Island. Upon arrival, take a walking tour through central Christchurch, Hagley Park and the Botanic Gardens. After leaving the gardens, witness the blend of heritage buildings and modern architecture in this revitalised city with its passageways, and attractive open spaces. Walk through the Riverside Market, an enclosed haven that brings together the essence of a fresh farmers' market and lively boutique shopping. DAY 6, Wednesday - Akaroa
During breakfast, listen to a local expert discuss Predator Free New Zealand 2050. This mission, supported by central government, primary industries, NGOs, and tangata whenua (people of the land - Maori) will enable native species to thrive. Later, travel to Akaroa, Canterbury's oldest town, founded in 1840 by French settlers. The town features historic buildings and a distinct French charm. Before lunch, hike to the summit of Stony Bay Peak, offering splendid panoramic views of Akaroa, the Pacific Ocean, and the distant Southern Alps. On the way back to Christchurch, stop at a cheese factory to sample some fine local cheese. Tonight, immerse yourself in the city's lively atmosphere and choose from a myriad of delightful restaurants

At Lake Tekapo, visit the picturesque Church of the Good Shepherd. Set on the shores of Lake Tekapo, this iconic church occupies a breathtaking setting. Continue hiking up Mt John, the site of a significant night sky observatory. As you ascend, be prepared to be amazed by the expansive vistas of the glistening lake and the majestic Southern Alps. Afterward, continue the drive, making your way toward Aoraki Mt. Cook

Be awestricken by the icefalls on the Southern Alps' highest peaks, and at the end of the hike, view the stunning terminal lake of the Hooker Glacier with its striking backdrop of Aoraki Mt. Cook. In the afternoon, drive along the shores of Lake Wanaka, on your way towards the majestic peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park. Continue on to the northern end of the Routeburn Track and hike towards the Routeburn Flats Hut. Swing bridge crossings add a sense of adventure as you follow the enchanting Routeburn River. As you make your way through this untouched wilderness, you will be enthralled by the pristine beech forests and cascading waterfalls that surround you. Following the hike, return to Queenstown.
