Tour Itinerary

The breathtaking Alps span the borders of several European countries, and this vacation gives you the opportunity to see the best of the Alpine region. This scenic tour of the Alps includes overnights in Munich, the Innsbruck area, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Bolzano, St. Moritz, Lake Como, Turin, Täsch, the Lucerne area, and Zurich. Every day you’ll marvel at stunning scenery: lush dairy pastures, picturesque quaint villages, imposing peaks, and enchanting forests. Visit Novacella Abbey in South Tyrol and Cortina d'Ampezzo, home of the 1956 and 2026 Winter Olympics in the spectacular Italian Dolomites, called the Italian "Rocky Mountains." Take in views of Italy’s Lake Carezza, a small, emerald-green mountain lake, and see the spectacular Austrian and Italian Tyrolean Alps. Discover Switzerland’s Engadine National Park, considered by some to be the world’s most beautiful mountain area with deep-blue lakes and mountain peaks exceeding 12,000 feet; experience beautiful Lake Como, one of Europe’s deepest lakes; car-free Zermatt, a picturesque cluster of rustic chalets beneath the Matterhorn, and much more. But it is not all about alpine scenery; you will also get to know Turin, an Italian city set at the foot of the Alps, and on the included city tour, you’ll discover the secret treasures the former Italian capital has to offer. In Bavaria, you will visit charming Linderhof Castle, the smallest but maybe the most elegant of King Ludwig’s three fairy-tale castles. One of the highlights of this Alpine tour is a memorable trip aboard the Glacier Express. From your train windows, marvel at the thundering waterfalls, impressive snow-capped peaks, forests, lush meadows, and picture-perfect villages. Passing over hundreds of bridges and through dozens of tunnels, this is Switzerland’s most famous mountain railway along with the journey aboard the Bernina Express from St Moritz to Tirano, Italy. Traveling on the highest railway across the Alps, witness glistening glaciers, stunning mountain streams, and alpine scenery. You will have many opportunities to practice your photographic skills on this amazing Alpine tour designed for savvy travel lovers! It’s a dream vacation!

Thank you: This tour is the best I have experienced so far, it was organized properly, it might be more nicer if in all the area or city that we have gone, we stayed for at least 2 night, so we have time to absorbed all the places in our mind, nor to be in a hurry the whole 13 day Personally Lake Como is not in my liking and the hotel as well Overall the trip was nice and organized, we should time to have farewell dinner as like as other tour has Thank you, we're looking forward for another experience with affordable tour.

The sightseeing part is a bit too rush, and the hotel locations are not so good, with a few far from the city center. Though the places covered are mostly interesting, the time spent in each place is too short.

Trip exceeded our expectations. Driver was wonderful on narrow windy roads. Also great with handling luggage. Tour director was pleasant and knowledgeable, but did not talk non stop.

All accommodations were outside of the city and it was very hard to go back and visit the cities . Food that was provided was poor in choices as far as flavor and it was almost the same in all cities . Local guides were not adequate and unable to answer questions and or accommodate the tourists. Most of the time was spent by seeing things out of the bus rather then being able to visit the city and the museums.

The only time I was really disappointed was on the Glacier Express. The Bernina Express was a great trip. And my husband was upset with the meals they supplied him on 2 occasions when they gave him a dish of rice & some carrots twice. Being diabetic he can't have rice or pasta which they were told, he should have protein. The tour over the mountains and the Dolomites was spectacular. Also loved the drive around the west side of Lake Como.

Alpine Adventures with Cosmos exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the breathtaking scenery on a daily basis. Marco (tour director) was professional, organized, and went above and beyond for everyone. Hotels were clean, interspersed with a few luxury hotels. Food was good. It was good value for the money. Planning on another Cosmos tour.

The day to day itinerary on the Cosmos Alpine Adventure Tour was great. There was a good balance of activity with plenty to do at a reasonable pace. The scenery was outstanding, picture-postcard quality every day all day long.

Our Tour director was terrific. She was professional, efficient, friendly and always available. Our driver was also experienced, professional and safe. They both facilitated a wonderful experience. All hotels were comfortable with the exception of the Villa Argentina in Cortina (old and dated rooms). Overall the tour exceeded our expectations.

The Alpine Adventure Bernina & Glacier Express trip was more spectacular than expected. If a traveler is interested in viewing wonderful mountain scenery in multiple countries, stopping for short visits in quaint mountain villages, riding the trains and a comfortable motor coach to high elevations to take many photos, walking through cities with a city tour guide who points out the most notable sites in the city then this trip is for you. We didn't expect 4-5 star accomodations and some of the rooms and provided meals were a great disappointment. We had several rooms that barely had space for 2 closed 28 inch suitcases. The provided dinners were bland, scant, and not prepared well. We expected a more cultural cuisine. The optional excursions were very interesting and worth the money, except for the Mount Stanserhorn excursion. It takes time to reach the top of the mountain via Cabrio, stand in line at the cafeteria and eat a lunch, use the WC (which is always another line), and hope to walk around outside to view and take pictures of the various mountain peaks. This cost $150 for two and we only had 15 minutes of viewing time before we were hustled back into another line to ride back down the mountain. The optional excursion to Gornergrat was well worth the money and we were very fortunate to have a day with not a cloud in the sky for photo taking. We traveled by bus and train over 2000 miles.

The Alpine Adventure tour from June 17th-29th was most enjoyable, and I also must say a few things about our top-notch tour director. She was definitely the best director I've ever had. She was very informative, helpful, patient, clear, concise, and an absolute joy to be around. I do believe that everyone on the bus hugged her and hugged her again when the tour ended. Many were teary-eyed and I was one of them. She is really an asset to Cosmos and along with the wonderful itinerary, she was the "icing on the cake" and we all loved her.

On our arrival to Tryp Munich Hotel, rooms where giving to other passangers from the same tour, but we have to wait about 6hrs. for one. On July 18, Villa Argentina Hotel, the baggage handler was very rude to us. The rest of the hotels were good. Our tour guide was very nice, she made our vacation very pleasant. Thank you all, especially our agent for all your help.
