Day 2
TEL AVIV–JAFFA–CAESAREA–MEGIDDO–NAZARETHEnjoy a full day exploring some of the Holy Land’s ancient biblical and modern sights. Begin by driving to the old port of Jaffa, an atmospheric town, where Jonah set sail before he was swallowed by the whale. Continue to Caesarea, an ancient port turned into an incredible archaeological area. Built by Herod the Great in the 1st century BC, the city was one of the most splendid in ancient Palestine and its capital for more than 600 years. Admire what remains of Herod’s grandiose building works, including the restored 3,500-seat Roman theater, the aqueduct, the harbor, the stadium, and the crumbled moat and towers from the 12th-century Crusader fortress. From here, travel to the archaeological site of Megiddo, an age-old fortified town with 25 layers of ancient findings and one of the most important biblical sites. According to the New Testament, this is where the Battle of Armageddon will take place, the final struggle between good and evil, which will prompt the return of Jesus to defeat the Antichrist and cast Satan into the abyss. Continue to Nazareth to visit St. Joseph Church and the Church of the Annunciation, where the Archangel Gabriel told Mary she would conceive and give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. This evening you may have an opportunity to join a candlelight procession starting from Church of the Annunciation square. Today's Distance: 121 mi / 195 km (B,D)CAESAREA-ROMAN-THEATER.jpg

Spend some time in the gardens on the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered his famous sermon, and meditate its significance. On the way back to Nazareth, stop in Cana, site of the wedding miracle. Today's Distance: 91 mi / 147 km (B,D)MOUNT-OF-BEATITUDES.jpg

From the Mount of Olives, take in memorable views over the city’s domes, walls, and rooftops before strolling in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed on the night before his arrest. Your guide will then lead you into the Jewish quarter, pointing out the Western Wall with its prayer notes tucked between the stones, and the Dome of the Rock, the gold-topped mosque on Temple Mount. Walk the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross), following in Jesus’ footsteps as he bore the cross to Calvary for his crucifixion and burial, where the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre now stands. Later this afternoon, attend [M] Mass, if you like. (B)JERUSALEM.jpg

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
I really enjoy this trip but I didn't receive a book, therefore I couldn't keep up with my schedule.I know they tried cuts back on paper.I couldn't look back phone! My phone was not working that like it should.
Fantastic tour with very knowledgeable tour guides. Felt very safe on this tour.
Happy with the results
It was a wonderful trip and we have enjoyed every moment of it.
My experience with Affordable Tours as been always the best, I will continue booking my tours in the future with them, the hotel, the food , service and care goes over and beyond what one can imagine.
Hotel in Tel Aviv (Tal) was very good. The hotel in Nazareth was quite bad: Elevators were hardly working, no help getting baggage from the bus to the room and conversely, very crowded buffet lines, mediocre food, very unhelpful staff. The hotel in Jerusalem was quite a bit better, but the elevators were still horrible. The hotel in Aman was OK. The guide in Israel was very knowledgeable about history, architecture etc., but had no clue how to deal with practical matters (arranging for baggage transfer etc) It was clear that she didn't care about these things either. The guide in Jordan was quite good as were the local guides
The tour was an amazing, meaningful experience with only a few areas needing adjustment. Also, please note that Israel and Jordan are the perfect combination. I would not have wanted to miss Jordan; it exponentially enhanced the value and meaning of the tour. Overall, the tour sites, the volunteer and community organizations, staff, accommodations, transportation, transfers, and food were incredible and flawless. Issues that I recommend resolving include the following. Israel tour guide's comments and sense of humor were often inappropriate and coarse. Although he was obviously knowledgeable and efficient, his attitude and behavior were abrasive and dismissive at times. The contrast between the tour guide in Jordan versus the one in Israel was significant. I would suggest the guide for the Israel part of the tour be more comparable to the quality of the guide in Jordan. Rooms at the Ramada in Jerusalem were not clean. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Bathrooms had showers with mold and mildew; bathroom doors had obvious water damage; everything except the bed did not appear to have been cleaned or vacuumed in quite some time. I heard similar comments from several other tour members. Insufficient prayer and reflection time were permitted at key spiritual sites in Israel, not only in Jerusalem but also in other cities. Since it was a faith-based tour, that is an important consideration. Only one tip envelope for the Tour Director and Driver were provided, and no guidance was given about if or how to tip local guides in Israel. We also weren't sure whether or not to tip guides and drivers separately in both countries. The number of tour participants in Israel (30+) was too many. The number of tour participants in Jordan (19) was a much more enjoyable and manageable number. Again, overall it was a wonderful experience, which could easily be excellent and outstanding with a few changes. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.
The tour through Israel and Jordan was tiring because every day was packed with sites and travel. But we saw much more than I expected, even some short trips not on the itinterary. The group was large, 42, but we grew to be great friends.
Some hotels are dusty. Some hotels don't vacuum the carpet daily. In our Jordan trip, the tour director did not provide us with Whispers (headset). Granted that there were only 15 people, still the tour director should provide headsets. Ther reason: Most of us in the tour are seniors. We walk slow. The tour director would start talking without waiting until everyone had returned.
The major problem we had with the tour was the heat. We wound up in the middle of a heat wave which made moving around, ascending stairs and hills unbearable. This is not your fault and I understand that. The tour was generally a good experience and I'm happy with it.
1. Some tour descriptions were inaccurate, such as the omission of Via Dolorosa. 2. Majority of those in our tour in Israel considered the guide incompetent and uncaring, although we rated the guide in Jordan highly. 3. The accommodations (lodging and food) in Israel, except the first hotel, were mediocre. This is the first vacation that I actually lost weight. 4. The accommodations in Jordan were wonderful and impressive. 5. Despite the uneven review, I will consider booking another vacation with this operator - hopefully, they'll do better next time. If not, there are others!
I will continue to use your travel company. Excellent!!!!
This was my third trip with Cosmos and I was really disappointed. The hotels used were horrible. One of the hotels had bed bugs. One couple ended up sleeping in the bathtub after changing rooms twice. I had to request a room change in Amman because the room I was assigned reeked of smoke. the restroom in the non smoking room I was assigned had a strong sewage smell. I felt the guide we had in Amman was not professional at all. When he met us at the border, he got on the bus and asked everyone for their passports. No name, no introductions, no nothing. We didn't know who he was. I also felt the guide should have stayed at the hotel with us in case we needed anything. He seemed to always be in a hurry, as though he had his own personal agenda. It was really disappointing.
Jordan Hotels and Guide were excellent... Israel guide not up to normal Cosmos standards...
