DAY 1 - Depart for IcelandDepart for Iceland
DAY 2 - Arrive in Iceland, Northern Lights Evening Tour
Welcome to Iceland, transfer independently to your hotel in Reykjavik. Most flights arrive in the early morning and your room may not be ready for you. In this case, leave your luggage with the concierge. Spend the balance of the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital. Or perhaps take an optional city tour of Reykjavik* during which you'll visit landmarks such as the Pearl for unrivaled views over Reykjavik and the Northern Lights Center. View Höfði House where Reagan and Gorbachev met to end the Cold War, as well as Hallgrimskirkja church, an iconic Reykjavik landmark. End your tour at Harpa Concert & Conference Hall where you can choose to stay in downtown Reykjavik on your own, or return to your hotel. Later tonight, search the skies for the Northern Lights, (Aurora Borealis) among the most spectacular phenomena on earth. The Northern Lights originate from the sun, where large explosions and electronic storms throw charged solar particles deep into space. This solar wind is caught by the Earth's magnetic field on the south and north poles. The solar particles collide with atmospheric gases and create this wonderful light effect. This evening, hope to see these lights swirling and dancing across the sky, endlessly changing color, shape and size***The order of sightseeing for Reykjavik City Tour may vary depending on day**Northern Lights tours are subject to correct weather conditions and solar activity. Sightings cannot be guaranteed. If the tour is canceled locally, we will attempt to offer another Northern Lights tour on an alternate evening, conditions permitting. The Reykjavik Northern Lights tour departs at approximately 8:30 PM from Oct 1 - Mar 14, and 9:30 PM from Sep 1 - Sep 30 & Mar 15 - Apr 15. The tour may not return until after midnight.
Optional: Reykjavik City Tour (AM)
Overnight: Reykjavik
DAY 3 - Full Day in Reykjavik
Spend the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik, surrounded by incredible landscapes and countless natural wonders. Or perhaps take an optional tour to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, a unique natural pool of mineral-rich geothermal water located in the middle of a lava field. Geothermal seawater is led directly to the Blue Lagoon forming wells as deep as 6,000 feet and the water stays warm at 100-110°F throughout the entire year. An indoor Blue Lagoon and geothermal sauna are also on site. The Blue Lagoon's warm water and natural ingredients of mineral salts, silica and blue green algae help you relax and escape the stress and strain of daily life
Optional: Blue Lagoon Experience Comfort (AM)
Overnight: Reykjavik
Meals: Breakfast
DAY 4 - Full Day in Reykjavik
Explore Reykjavik at your leisure or choose to take the optional tour of the Golden Circle, which showcases some of Iceland's most popular tourist attractions including the country's best known natural, cultural, and historic sites. Visit the Geysir geothermal area, home of the famous Geysir and Strokkur hot springs. The Strokkur hot spring erupts every 5 minutes or so, making it one of the most active geysers in the world. Then, on to the Gullfoss waterfall, the queen of Iceland's waterfalls, tumbling down a deep gorge. Next stop is a visit to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where the tectonic plates of Europe and North America meet and one of the world's oldest parliaments was founded in 930 AD. Finally, visit the Friðheimar greenhouse where you will learn about the magic behind growing delicious, pesticide-free tomatoes with the aid of geothermal heat and bumblebees

Questions & Answers Ask A Question
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
All the staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful on the cruise.
Our tour manager was excellent. He really took care of our needs. He is also very knowledgeable, friendly and energetic.
This was a wonderful tour. Our tour guide, Julie, was fabulous, & went above & beyond in being incredibly helpful & caring for everyone's needs during our trip! And Germany was great!
Gate 1 Tours we have taken are great experiences at an affordable price!
Everything was great, the tour manager was exceptional, choice of sites and hotels was very good. No complaints at all.
More expensive than average. Many issues with hotels and dining. Food was below average from what you used to provide and this is a more expensive trip.
I have only one comment. The bus we use should have a mini toilet to use for urgent # 1. It was a real problem for me as the toilet sometimes was 3+ hours away. People with health issues can hardly make it!!!!
Would skip Rabat but all else was spectacular!!
It was a well organized tour. Didn’t realize how advanced China is. Tour manager and local guides were outstanding.
I was very happy with the Tour Manager and Driver. I would definitely book another tour with Gate 1 Travel.
My husband and I enjoyed our latest Gate 1 trip. Our guide Meme was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. She was well organized, and took care in attending to our groups needs including appropriately timed rest stops. Many of the hotels on this trip were among the nicest I’ve ever stayed in including the Wagner in Triana and the Hilton in Montenegro. My only criticism of the trip is the restaurants used for our group dinners. At best they were very mediocre. Breakfasts at the hotels were fine.
An excellent company!
very great trip. We are very happy with the gate1.
Vivian was our tour guide…and she was wonderful!! She was very informative with our tours! I would highly recommend her!!

Rooms were not up to the standard. The bathtubs were too high. It was difficult to get in and out. There was water accumulated when we took a shower at some hotels like Renna and the staff was very rude to fight. Very disappointed with this trip.
