DAY 3, Friday - Full Day in Malta
Today is free to explore Malta on your own. Perhaps join the optional Full Day Mdina Tour with lunch. Explore Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta, located in the central part of the island. This walled city dates back more than 4,000 years and has witnessed Malta's major historic events because of its strategic position on one of the area's highest plateaus. During your walk in the "Silent City," view the Mdina Cathedral and the imposing bastions that allow you to admire panoramic views of most of the island. Leaving Mdina through Greek's Gate, head to Rabat to explore Christian catacombs, which feature an extensive underground system of tombs dating back to the third century B.C. Next, proceed to the cliffs at Dingli. After lunch, visit the San Anton Botanical Gardens and continue to the Ta' Qali Crafts Center. DAY 4, Saturday - Full Day in Malta
Spend the day at leisure, or participate in the optional Gozo Full Day Tour with lunch. Begin with an early morning and travel to Malta's sister island of Gozo, an island where time stands still and traditions and customs form the daily life of the islanders. Following a short twenty-minute ferry crossing, arrive in Mgarr harbor. Your guide will lead you first to the megalithic temples of Ggantija, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This monumental archaeological site is considered one of the oldest freestanding monuments in the world, predating Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Egypt. Continue to the medieval citadel in Victoria and the fjord-like Xlendi Bay. Next, head to Dwejra, a natural monument located on the western shore of the island. Later, take the ferry back to Malta and return to your hotel

DAY 5, Sunday - Full Day in Malta
Spend another day at leisure, or choose the optional Half Day Marsaxlokk Market & Blue Grotto. The fishing village of Marsaxlokk, with its colorful luzzus (traditional fishing boats) and unique character, make the ideal setting for the local market. This is the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning, mingling with the locals as you browse through the various stalls. The tour continues with a visit to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting - boat trip for an extra fee). Admire the expanse of the blue Mediterranean and the islet of Filfla. Later, explore one of Malta's unspoiled villages. View the main square, the hub of the village with its parish church, and stroll through the maze of winding narrow streets before heading back

DAY 6, Monday - Full Day in Malta
On your last day at leisure, join the optional Valetta Half Day Tour. Discover Valletta, the walled capital of Malta, with a guided tour. Admire the charm of the city, built by the Knights of St. John in the 16th century. Marvel at the breathtaking views of the Grand Harbor from the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Next, visit the majestic St. John's Co-Cathedral, including the oratory which houses Caravaggio's masterpiece, "The Beheading of St. John the Baptist." The Co-Cathedral boasts one of the most beautiful marble inlaid floors in the world. Strolling down Republic Street, pass by the Grand Masters' Palace and the recently restored St. George's Square before watching the Malta Experience, an audio-visual show where Malta's history throughout the centuries is brought to life

Hotels in the south needed air conditioning. Breakfasts could have been a little better. These are minor complaints...all in all a great trip. Tour leader Lindsey Thorpe was terrific lots of rooms were messed up..twin beds when single was needed and visa versa
The highlight of this trip is our Tour manager ( Nguyen Duy Thang /victor ) He is very thoughtful, humble, generous, honest , compassionate individual. Victor is loyal, resourceful, persistent and extremely organized person . He made our experience in Vietnam tour extremely enjoyable and excellent . Victor deserves 100% as a Tour Manager . Gate 1 must recognize Mr Nguyen Duy Thang (Victor ).

I’m only concerned with Gate 1 misleading me with the last day that we were supposed to spend another night at the hotel on Dec 30th only to find out that it is not true. I was not able to clarify with my affordable agent as she was off that day. So I called gate 1 instead before booking my own airfare.
The Gate 1 tour guide was wonderful. The boat trip on the Mekong was very nice. Wine, beer, and soft drinks were provided free of charge at lunch and dinner. Most of the meals were Vietnamese food. The staff did a good job of providing alternative food for those that did not eat seafood. Siem Reap was beautiful. We did not choose the tour that continued in to Hanoi which was advertised as two days in Hanoi. However, their flight didn't arrive until 10:30 pm so an additional day in Siem Reap and had only one day in Hanoi.
Great tour manager, friendly, knowledgable, caring
Just completed 12/19-12/31 Tunisia Discovery Tour. Very disappointed with the accommodations in some of the areas as a few of the hotels were sub-par. In one hotel we had no hot water whatsoever. The food in three of the hotels was poor. The bus was uncomfortable, seats were peeling, it was extremely loud while on highways, the sound system poor, and we could hardly hear the tour manager. I feel these are unacceptable for a Gate 1 tours. The trip is rigorous which was fine for me but it needs to be better explained in the description of the trip for those who have mobility issues.
Highly recommended and highly satisfied with this tour. Enjoyed all the Xmas markets n the food delicious.
