DAY 3, Saturday - Cape Town City Tour & Cape Malay Experience
Today, explore the city of Cape Town. Drive to Kloof Nek and Table Mountain, where you can ascend to the top by aerial cable car* (weather permitting) and see the panoramic views of the city and beaches. After descending from the plateau, tour the Desmond Tutu Legacy Foundation. Learn about Archbishop Tutu's life through immersive exhibits, multimedia displays and personal artifacts. Next, visit the Milnerton Lighthouse before continuing to the prominent Shimansky Jewelers. Savor a home-cooked lunch at the home of your host family, a highlight of the day. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Cape Town on your own. Tonight, attend an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager, followed by dinner*Table Mountain Aerial Cableway closes for annual maintenance in Jul & Aug. Exact dates will be advised in early 2026.

DAY 4, Sunday - Excursion to the Cape Winelands
Drive through South Africa's fertile valleys along the principal wine route to Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch. In Franschhoek stop in at some of South Africa's wine estates. After lunch, travel to Stellenbosch, with its Cape Dutch architecture, before returning to Cape Town. Evening is at leisure

DAY 5, Monday - Cape Peninsula Tour
Depart on a half day Cape Peninsula Tour. Stop at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where you may see baboons by the roadside, rheboks, cape mountain zebras, bonteboks, and the elusive eland. Following the coastline along False Bay, return to Cape Town by way of Simon's Town. Here, visit the penguin colonies at Boulders Beach, and continue with a scenic drive over Muizenberg Mountain

DAY 6, Tuesday - Flight to Victoria Falls
Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Victoria Falls,* named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the hotel and check into your room with time to settle in. Embark on a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River, where you can encounter herds of buffalo and elephant*Flights to Victoria Falls will arrive and depart in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

DAY 7, Wednesday - Guided Tour of Victoria Falls
This morning's guided tour of Victoria Falls,* in both Zambia and Zimbabwe, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, begins with a walk through the rainforest. View the cataracts, named after Queen Victoria, and a wide variety of wildlife, and plants. Afternoon is at leisure. Tonight, have dinner at the lodge*Guided tour of the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe may take place on day 6 depending on arrival time.

DAY 8, Thursday - Sunset Safari Cruise in Chobe National Park
After breakfast, meet children at a local school, time permitting, before continuing your journey to Chobe National Park in Botswana, arriving in time for lunch. Settle into your new surroundings and get ready for this afternoon's adventure. Board a motorized boat for your sunset safari cruise where you will glide through the water searching for hippos, buffalo, antelope and more. Return to the lodge in time for dinner

DAY 9, Friday - Morning & Afternoon Game Drives in Chobe National Park
Set out on a game drive early in the morning. Navigate in open safari vehicles in search of lions, warthogs, buffalo, giraffe and more. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation before this afternoon's game drive. You can watch the wildlife from up-close including a variety of birds, as Chobe is one of Africa's premier venues for birdwatching. This evening, dine al fresco in the lodge restaurant

DAY 10, Saturday - Safari Activities in the Okavango Delta
Transfer to the airport in Kasane to board a light aircraft flight (4 or 5 seat plane) to the lush, Okavango Delta, a unique wildlife location. A World Heritage Site, the Okavango is a vast and virtually untouched freshwater wetland in the heart of Botswana's arid Kalahari Desert with an abundance of wildlife. In the afternoon, look out for ostrich, antelope, wildebeests along with hippos and crocodiles along the water's edge, as well as hundreds of bird species. Dinner is at your camp

DAY 11, Sunday - Safari Activities in the Okavango Delta

Due to limited space in safari vehicles, please pack your belongings in a soft-sided duffel bag. Traditional suitcases with rigid frames or hard plastic sides should not be used. Due to the use of light aircraft flights (4 or 5 seat small planes), there is a weight restriction for luggage of 44 pounds per person (including hand luggage), and maximum size for duffel bags of 24 inches long by 12 inches wide by 10 inches high.

Our guide Ali made everything safe and interesting. We did benefit from the changes made due to feedback from the 1st year of the tour.
Our experience on this trip was “epic”. Our team in Kenya, David, Marcus and Tony were wonderful, as was the team in Tanazina of Godliving, HQ, and Baraka. All of the places we stayed were very good. The food was good as well. The vehicles were great for the safari, better then some we saw! Not sure what could be done better, this was just a once in a life time experience! Our Gate 1 tour manager, Hari Saravan, was exceptional in every way possible. We have not ever (even when we have had personal guides by other operators) had such a positive experience with a guide. He was very organized, communicated effectively and in a timely way in terms of trip management, was personable and highly accessible, and helpful in sorting out minor challenges and questions. Hari was extraordinarily knowledgeable and conveyed his knowledge and expertise in effective and accessible ways. He simply is extraordinary and in large part the reason for our having had such a positive experience in this group tour. An asset in every way imaginable. We would point out that at least one of the accommodations, Great Trails Riverview Resort Thanjavur By GRT Hotels, was notably sub-standard. Other hotels (the Radisson Blu) were marginal.

We had a wonderful tour director in Tim De Jong. His attention to detail was amazing. He showed wonderful leadership qualities and was able to bond the tour group into one happy family. At the same time he regaled us with stories of the various places we visited. We had a little disappointment that we could not see Franz Josef glacier as the coastal road south of Greymouth was closed. However the alternate route from Arthur’s Pass to Dunedin, and from Dunedin to Queenstown through gold country towns was very scenic. I would suggest adding an extra day in Queenstown with an option drive to Glenorchy. The local people were very friendly and helpful. The food was always great! This trip is highly recommended.
