Travelers go on river cruises because it allows them to visit big cities and popular towns. However, it’s really the small towns and villages you have never heard of that make river cruises in Europe the experience of a lifetime. In September I was able to cross sailing around Greece off my bucket list with Contiki’s Greek Sailing tour. I wanted to hit the smaller Greek islands that had less tourists, and to go with other Millennials.
There is a unique charm to the winters of Central Europe, made even more special during the Christmas season. I wanted to experience this special place and time so I opted to travel with my father on Christmas Time on the Danube with Avalon cruise that visited some of these romantic places. This was my first river cruise experience and I now think that it’s THE way to travel.
