Review: 7 Day Caribbean Cruise with Princess

Staff Adventures: 7 Day Caribbean Cruises - Princess Cruises

I picked this Princess “7 Day Western Caribbean” cruise because I live in Houston, so it’s a local trip, and my friend’s birthday was in November, and she has never been on a cruise. I boarded the ship very excited about the stops in Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel!

Excursions
The ship first docked in Honduras: at the Maya Key Private Island, Animal Sanctuary. There, we were treated to a great buffet for lunch, where we enjoyed the coconut flavored rice and beans the most. We also got to hang out on a private beach, and attend the monkeys and parrots tour. The staff was helpful and courteous, and the trip wasn’t crowded since there was a limited amount of people allowed in the reservation.

 Altun Ha Mayan Ruins

Next, we went to Belize, and saw the Altun Ha Mayan Ruins and City Drive. We climbed aboard an air-conditioned bus with a Mayan Ruins tour guide who was very informative. We passed by stops that were historical and still used today. We also got to see the Prime Minister’s House. It was amazing to see that the PM only had 2 security guards in front of his house. We were told because the crime rate is so low, there is no need for more.

The Mayan Ruins was a great educational stop. We learned the history as well as their way of life. The locals had shops there and were very kind to us all.

Enjoying Some Drinkgs At Playa Mia Beach

Our third stop was Cozumel. We went to Playa Mia Beach. This was my favorite stop. We enjoyed a free buffet and unlimited drinks! As soon as the server staff saw you were low on your drink, another one would magically appear. Needless to say, the service was great. There was a waterpark near the main swimming pool with slides, and an obstacle course and trampoline were in the middle of the water by the beach. The beach was busy with tourists but not overly so.

Dining Experience
Our dining experiences on the ship were very enjoyable. Our first Formal Night was the welcome party hosted by the Captain. There were champagne glasses stacked high as each passenger, and they lined up to pour the champagne down like a waterfall. As we watched, there was champagne passed out and chocolates on a stick with the Princess Logo on it.

Super Sail! 2016 Cruise Deals And Specials

We had anytime dining, and we loved our waiter so much, that we requested his section for the rest of the cruise. The last night we were overloaded with several plates of food, because in addition to what we had ordered, he brought out his own favorite dishes for us to try. Edward was superb, and we even wrote a great review to the guest service desk.

Conclusion
Our hotel steward was very helpful with any questions we had and left us two chocolates on our beds instead of one each. The bathroom was always stocked with fresh towels and our room was very clean.

The Western Caribbean itinerary was very fun, educational, relaxing and we enjoyed meeting new people who were bubbly and entertaining as well.

We had such a great time, that we almost missed the cruise ship at the last stop, Cozumel, because were enjoying the fun too much at Fat Tuesdays. Instead of running back to the ship, we paid the locals on the bicycles with a carriage to take us there; I highly recommend this cruise!
