I can’t say enough good things about the Highlights of Vietnam with Trafalgar. This tour will be remembered as one of my favorite vacations ever. The tour was 12 days of cultural discovery, great food, beautiful beaches, lovely humble people and fun. Every hotel on this itinerary was top notch and centrally located.

Traveling to Myanmar, known as “The Golden Land,” we knew we were in for a treat. We were looking for something different because both of us are pretty well-traveled and love off the beaten path destinations. We wanted to travel somewhere that was special, and culturally rich, unspoiled by a more Western, modern culture. Vietnam is country with a rich history. At the beginning of my cruise on the Mekong river with AmaWaterways, I went to the Independence Palace, which serves as one of the many museums that Saigon has to offer. It’s known as Saigon by its people who live there but Ho Chi Minh City by its government.
On the outside of the museum there were relics of old war planes, tanks and large bombs that were used in the war. That was extremely fascinating for me seeing these in real life as opposed to on television or in a movie theater.
