Journey to the charming hamlet of Oberammergau today, where you will enjoy a performance of Passionsspiele, The Passion Play. This depiction of the trial, suffering and death of Christ is performed once every ten years, keeping the terms of a promise the townspeople made to God after they were spared from the plague in 1633. Today, many of Oberammergau's residents still take part in this powerful work of art featuring dramatic performances, beautiful music and choral accompaniment. The play takes place in two parts this afternoon and evening. Enjoy an included traditional dinner during the three-hour intermission. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Viking met and exceeded our expectation. It was our very first river cruise and we're simply blown away with the overall experience. The room was always kept neat and tidy. The food and wait staff were outstanding. All the included excursions were great. Couldn't have ask for a better trip. Another check mark off our bucket lists!
If we had questions we could always call & get answers. This was our first river cruise so we were unfamiliar with what to bring, etc. the cruise was everything we expected & more. Thank you Shannon.
Ship was unable to sail the majority of the time secondary to the low water level; this greatly affected my experience. I am aware that Viking cannot control the weather but was informed that the water level had been low for several weeks prior to our trip and the ships had been unable/limited to sail for several weeks. I was only given about 24 hours notice of this situation and therefore unable to cancel/change my vacation. I paid for a cruise and basically got a bus tour. All in all though, the service and accommodations were excellent.
Our next trip will definitely be arranged with Affordable Tours. My wife and I appreciated the excellent care, information, and rapid responses that our tour consultant provided for us. I have recommended Affordable Tours to many of my friends.
last year we went down the danube river cruise and was impressed with the service, food, and the itinary. . It was our first cruise so we really had a good time. The excursions were well organized but could not get the excursions that I wanted to see, but that was ok.
The ship was lovely, and the room was very comfortable and well thought-out in terms of limited space. Staff was very, very pleasant and helpful.
Trip was just beautiful. Meals were excellent Viking Staff and experience were top notch. They could not do enough for you to make your experience more memorable. The river cruise thru the Waknau Valley were truly the most beautiful I have ever seen on a cruise. Would suggest that you tempor you off ship excursions as there are a lot to choose from and you are constantly on the go if you don't . Most excursions start early in the AM so do not expect to sleep in... Viking's assistance on transfers were well above expectations with on site representatives at both entry and exit airports. Could not have done it with out them.
