Questions & Answers

Question: What does [LF] stand for?

LF is an abbreviation of a program by Globus called Local Favorites. These are hidden gems and traditions with behind-the-scenes activities at different destinations on your trip.

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?

Each person is allowed one "check-in," and one "carry-on." Remember to take all valuables with you as "carry-on", because electronic equipment, cameras, laptops, jewelry, business documents and money are not covered by the airlines' liability, so always carry them aboard with you.

Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?

This tour was AWESOME! It hit so many spectacular points of interest and beautiful cities! Our guide couldn't have done a better job! Very knowledgeable and witty.

We have used the operator in the past and were pleased with the results. We had an excellent Tour Director and Driver, however other aspects of the trip did not meet our expectations. Some of the hotels, meals, and services should have been better and even though we did research each hotel before booking I am finding TripAdvisor ratings tend to be somewhat higher than reality warrants. Though nobodies fault we also had a nasty cold/flu that worked it's way through most of the passengers and was ongoing for most of the 24 days we were touring.

The tour guide (Will) was top notch. He had a wealth of knowledge about the areas. He had a good sense of humor. He was well organized and always prepared. He was always courteous and easy to get along with. The driver, John, was skilled and courteous. He didn't hit a thing even though the coach was long and wide and roads were crooked and narrow. He kept the coach and its windows clean. That's important.

This was billed as a luxury tour but was far from it. The hotels were mediocre at best and the food they provided was poor to say the least. The travel guide was only fair and very biased against anything English. We were the only people on the tour that didn't receive a tour guide booklet.

Just one bad hotel f02 two nights in Inverness. Every other hotel was great.

Agent, tour directors and regular driver were exemplary. Hotels left something to be desired in terms of food service and quality of food; every room except maybe two required a call fro additional full towels--for a room of three they provided two towels. Food service was lacking a lot and some rooms were very hot. The beds and pillows were so soft that I actually hurt my neck trying to sleep. In some cases there was a pull out bed which was not very comfortable. Better locations on this trip for hotels than on previous trip. Not amused at cost of trip and then how much it cost for additional fun things to do (excursions should be included) and some places were truly bathroom and a quick photo if time allows so bus time was the mainstay--did not enjoy that as I was sick a lot on this trip. Bus driver and guide were excellent though and group was great. There was not a lot of time in some places and too much time in places where one really could not do anything but shop. Not happy that Blarney, Glastonbury and a few other things are no longer included in costs. Need more choices for meals and drinks. There were times when we spent so much time on the bus that I was too exhausted to enjoy the break spots or the final destination--although some of that was because I was sick, I experienced a great deal of motion and middle ear, upset stomach and sinus issues on this trip--a lot of it was truly just too much time on the bus to get somewhere.

Everything about this jopurney was great with one exception. More than half of the hotels had either no or nonoperational cooling but the rooms were otherwise fine. Fans were always provided upon request.

The trip went as expected. We were satisfied with almost everything, but cannot say that we were super impressed. The accommodations were acceptable, but not as comfortable as we would have liked. The only real glitch in the agenda was that one hotel we stayed at in Inverness, The Columba, actually lost their water supply completely while we were there.

Great tour, great tour director and driver. Most hotels were good, except the one in Inverness (Columba). Columba was dirty, there was mold in the bathroom, staff was rude; not the Globus standard.

Loved this trip. It was everything I expected and more.

The experience was very fast paced. Perhaps an occasional lighter day with tours would give the travelers an opportunity to be a little more rested and enthusiastic for the next day. The advertised 4 and 5 star rated hotels was a misconception. They appeared to be more like 3 star to me. First, the hotels didn't seem to have decent rooms for solo travelers. It also seemed that since we were with a tour group, they put us in rooms that were some of the worst for size and location. We were 2 older ladies that share accommodations and requested 2 beds in our room. One hotel gave us a regular bed and a daybed which was extremely uncomfortable. Another provided the bed and a pull out which again was not comfortable after a long day. I was able to peek into the rooms next door and saw rooms with twin beds that would have been much more acceptable. Our tour director advised that we just needed to deal with what we were given. Accolades to our driver. He was awesome!

This tour covered a lot of ground, we saw so much & learned a great deal about the history of the UK & Ireland, Most of the excursions were great fun. We especially enjoyed the jaunting car ride through Killarney Nat'l Park. Of course, that was just one example of many wonderful adventures on this tour! You will love it!

Tour was quoted as about 45 people but booked at 88 people..result was too crowded tours and hotels of lower quality than advertised. Tours guides "the best" but couldn't make up for the number of people and hotel choices

Our Tour Director was absolutely wonderful. She provided a detailed history of the places we were going to visit along with the "people" stories that made these places come alive. Her personalized service and caring manner were exemplary. We could not have asked for a better tour guide.
