Tour Itinerary
Although Italy is full of wondrous gems across “the boot,” some of its greatest treasures are hidden closer to its heel. In the Apulia region, known for its centuries-old farmland, whitewashed towns, and miles of scenic coastline, the water is bluer, the produce is fresher, and the pace is delightfully slower. This Undiscovered tour of Southern Italy invites you to kick back and live la dolce vita as you travel from heel to ankle, vineyard to grove, and clifftop to cave. From the scenic bluffs of lemon-scented Sorrento to the stunning 90-million-year-old caves of Castellana, you will experience Southern Italy’s hottest sights—and coolest. At a special wine tasting at a local masseria, you’ll raise your glass to the many highlights of “the heel,” including its castles and conical houses, ancient ruins and fresh ricotta, and its eternal sunshine and sunny disposition.

A SAFE & WARM WELCOMEGlobus will conduct tour check-in procedures and pre-trip health screenings to offer guests a safe start and peace of mind throughout the journey. This includes proof of vaccination for all guests.
BLENDING CULTURAL PROXIMITY WITH SOCIAL DISTANCEThere may be times on tour or on the motorcoach when social distancing is required. We will take care in assuring any local guidelines are followed in a safe and comfortable way for our guests. For any cases where masks are required due to local guidelines, we ask that guests bring their own approved N95 (FFP2) masks for their own comfort and safety. Our wireless listening technology enables safe distances between our guests and other travelers during excursions.
FOCUS ON GUEST AND TEAM MEMBER HEALTHTo ensure a healthy environment for each of our guests and our team, our Tour Directors, Local Hosts, and motorcoach drivers are fully vaccinated, and Globus is also requiring that all travelers are fully vaccinated before joining the trips. Additionally, regular guest checks are conducted, and, when required by local guidelines, masks will be worn by our guests and by our team when accompanying guests. In all other cases, masks are optional for guests.
TOUCHING HEARTS, NOT HANDSTraveling with Globus removes many of the “touch points” of travel, including luggage handling, check in/out, expedited entry into attractions and more. Globus are further reducing risk with hands-free service, meaning all self-services replaced by staff, including buffet meals replaced with table service. Globus will also ensure hand sanitizing is available throughout each trip, on coach and in hotels.
COMMITMENT TO CLEANAs a part of Globus' commitment to clean, Globus is requiring enhanced cleaning procedures with hotel partners, on motorcoaches, vehicles and throughout every trip, including additional daily disinfecting procedures that go above-and-beyond already strict health and safety procedures.
PARTNERS IN DISCOVERY AND IN HEALTHGlobus has strict health and safety protocols, which have been in place for years, focused on ensuring all aspects of operation- from vehicles and equipment used on trip to excursions and hotel procedures. This process will continue with new, elevated health and safety checks, to maintain their promise that each touch-point on tours and cruises are considered in their commitment to guest and team member well-being.

Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
The trip was a wonderful experience.
Unfortunately, we experienced rainy weather for 4 days, which made it difficult to enjoy the beautiful towns we visited. Our Tour Director, Lino, was simply outstanding. His in-depth knowledge, obvious love for his country, compassion for everyone and attention to detail made the trip exceptional. He was able to resolve a myriad of issues including retrieving cameras and bags forgotten by guests, making special accommodations for guests incapable of physical exertion required, and tending to everyone's needs no matter how diverse those needs were. He is truly exceptional and an absolute asset for Globus. Alas, some of the meals provided by the hotels were lacking and not up to the standards we usually encounter in Italy.
Sorrento and Amalfi are the highlights of this tour I would prefer more time there
We had an issue finding our transfer agent in the Naples Airport and we still can't understand why as we waited from 11:30am to almost 2pm to connect with them. Think there should be an email that we can use to contact the transfer agent when there is an issue or a more specific location to meet at like the information booth. Naples hotel was very pleasant and in a great location; the hotel in Bari was very modern but in a lovely location; the Tenute Al Bano Carrisi was a nice experience and the food was good; the hotel in Castellana was fine; the included meals in Grand Hotel Vesuvio were not up to expectations and their room was very poor. The tours were excellent and it was great to be off the beaten path of tourists for most of the trip. We also enjoyed the optional excursions to Polignano a Mare and the Neapolitan farm dinner in Sorrento. Our tour guide was very good.
