It commemorates the internment of 87000 soldiers of the French Bourbaki army, who fled Switzerland in the harsh winter of 1871. Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
The tour itself was ice, but it was way too rushed. Too much time getting there, but no time to enjoy sights or shop in each country. We got to Amsterdam @ 4:30 pm, took a one hour canal ride, checked into the hotel and had to leave by 7:00 am the next morning. Most of the shops in town closed between 6-7 pm, In London, we were taken to St. Paul's church and told we could visit the chapel only to be informed, there was a private baptism going on! Shouldn't our local guide have informed himself of this? We were to meet the group outside St. Paul's at 11:00 am. We were there with a third person in our group at 3 minutes past 11:00 and the bus had left without us!! We had to find our own way back to the hotel. The local guide never noticed he was missing three people on his tour! There were other stops in London listed like 10 Downing street that we never saw. It also said, Westminster Abby so, I purposely didn't visit there the day before. The local guide said, "We're just driving past there". This should have been made clearer. I did more and saw more on the side trips I planned on my own in each city/Country. I'll save my money and plan my own trip next time. Although, the room and travel accommodations were amazing, the trip itself was very disappointing for the money we put out.
This was our second guided tour with Globus. The experience is highly depending on the "tour director." Our first Globus trip had an exceptional tour director, whereas this second one was merely good - acceptable, but didn't create as good as experience as our first trip.
We both enjoyed the trip very much. It was packed full of things to see and do.
I really enjoyed the trip. There are a few areas of improvement such as the seat rotation and the tour guide. Both were not satisfactory. I also think the optional excursions should have been included in the price we paid.
The Globus European sampler exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a tour which would expose me to England, France and the Alpine regions of Europe, so I could decide if I wanted explore a more lengthy tour at a later date. The guide and itinerary hit all the highlights, as well as providing background on regions which would be of future interest. I am already considering a more lengthy visit to Germany and/or Switzerland.
Most hotels exceeded my expectations the food was wonderful and the optional tours were the best.
My daughter and I were so pleased with the hotel accomodations, especially in London and Amsterdam. Wow! And our tour director was outstanding. She was so organized and went out of her way to make our trip great. Of course the friends we made on this tour were not her doing, but really made our trip special. She couldn't have been more helpful, and I will contact her for our next trip.
Just got back from our 15 day adventure. Everything went smooth as silk. Not a single hitch with any detail.
Our tour guide with Globus was great. He was highly knowledgable and personable. He really made the trip an awesome experience.
Cannot say enough about Affordable Tours & Globus. Everything was much more than I had even expected & would use both of them again with no hesitation!!!!!

I was not 100% impressed with the hotel in Paris, but it was a minor issue that was addressed on the feedback card I filled out for the tour director
