The first records of bears being kept in the city date back to 1513 when soldiers brought live bears home as spoils of war. Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
It was an Amazing experience overall with Affordable and Globus both.
Disappointed by this trip. Except for the trip to Jungfrau, nothing was "spectacular." Most of the other more interesting activities came from the optional excursions. Our guide was more of a director for getting people from one place to another. His commentaries were not lively and often not interesting. At times, other members of my tour group found the information given to be inaccurate. For many stops, the information given was here's where to go shopping and here's where to find the Migros supermarket where you can eat good food for less money. We went back to Zurich at the end for an extension; our public tour guide took us to so many more sites in the old town and taught us so much more than our Globus guide. Our optional tour to Mt Pilatus was on a rainy, foggy day. There was no option to cancel. The rides were interesting but the views were nonexistent - disappointing. We took the optional extra 2 days at the end of the tour. Unlike some other companies, no local contact was provided and no arrangements were offered for getting back to the airport at the end of our extended trip. We had to learn to fend for ourselves. Additionally, we arrived early on the first day and our email asking for suggestions for what to do in Zurich went unanswered. We booked with Globus based on reputation and an earlier trip. After this one, I'm very hesitant to use them again.
Had a wonderful tour. The hotels were all located close to the downtown area. As a solo traveller I always had a nice comfortable and well located room in each hotel. The guide and driver were caring and very responsible. The itinerary was superb. Everywhere we stopped had interesting points and we were given enough time to see the town or event/ The stops were well planned so that we didn't waste time. The little "surprises" or extras such as a free minibar, a parting gift, a cap souvenir, a drink included, were all appreciated. Very enjoyable trip. This was my first Globus tour and I would very much recommend it. I plan to look into another trip with them.
We we're hoping for a great trip and we got one. Switzerland was magnificent and far exceeded our expectations.
Only issue was the legroom on the bus was rather limited much less than we have experienced on othe globus tours. My husband and I had to seperate as he had to sit sideways One of the teasinscwe choose globus is because the advertise more comfortable busses
I very much enjoy conducting business with MS Allyson because of her experience and efficiency. She is very knowledgeable and I am happy to do business with her again as well as recommend to my family and friends.
We disagree about the consistency in value and quality of the accommodation, we understood that all the accommodations are first class from my travel agent. From the five hotels we stayed in, only 2 were, 5 stars, the rest were 3 stars hotels. Dinner in most of the restaurants we paid extra for, was not up to par, we wouldn't give more than one star. the quality of meat was the cheapest kind, another point to mention is that we felt we were rushed having dinner the waiters literally grabbed the plates from our table. We were on vacation we wanted to relax. We would love to book another tour, overall, we had a fantastic experience.
All the staff members were very nice and good for the job
Our tour director Eric was very knowledge and professional. Franco was an amazing driver, manuvering through the narrow streets and of European ciries and the Apline mountains. Trip is well organized but quite exhausting consider the number of cities to be visited in a weeks time. I believe there are too many optional excurisons and they are quite expemsive also.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He was committed to having everything arranged for us. He also told us a lot about the things we were seeing and Switzerland's economy, politics, and people in general. The local guides were very knowledgeable about the places they took us in Geneva and Berne. The bus driver was professional, courteous, and an excellent driver. The bus unfortunately broke down, but the driver did a great job assessing the problem and quickly getting the necessary support from the bus company.
The Globus "Spectacular Switzerland" trip lived up to it's name. It was a round trip through many wonderful parts of Switzerland (and a little of France), and each stop had unique and interesting sights, adventures, and experiences. The trip matched the advertised features. The booking process through Affordable Tours was painless. The agent was exceptional and supported every aspect of the process. To have a good experience on an escorted tour like this requires a good tour director. The director on this trip was absolutely outstanding!
My husband and I had a great time. Our tour guide was terrific. Thanks,
My husband and I were very pleased with the hotels we had. All were conveniently located to main attractions, and they were comfortable. The breakfasts were very good. Our tour guide on the trip was helpful, courteous, kept us on time, and was professional. The extra excursions we took were well worth the money. I wish we had been given another day in Florence because there were places I did not get to visit due to time and crowds. However, it was a wonderful trip!
we had a great time and strongly reccommend our guide.
A great trip...this was our third booking with Affordable Tours and their travel partners Cosmos, Monograms, etc. We will definately use all again for future trips. Our tour group in Italy was larger (about 30) than previous trips and the large group was much more enjoyable, plus the size assured that almost all of the side-excursions were available.
We had a wonderful and memorable experience. Thank you!
Everything was fabulous. Accommodations were superior at all locations. Trip will be a fond memory forever!
