But there'll also be plenty of time for more cultured activities, including painting evenings (accompanied with beaujolais wine), hiking the surrounding vineyards and enjoying yoga on those sweeping lawns. Start Beaujolais Wine RegionWelcome to Lyon! We'll meet and greet in France's 3rd largest city today, but won't hang around too long. It's the Château life for us, Contiki fam... Heading into the gorgeous Beaujolais wine region, we'll arrive at our palatial accommodation for the weekend, the iconic Château by Contiki. For decades this exclusive property has wowed Contiki travellers with its elegant stylings, lush surrounding vineyards – and of course, some of the most legendary pool parties ever. There'll be a champagne welcome waiting for us, naturally, then after enjoying some fizz we've got an evening of cultural activities awaiting us. Our sip n sketch painting evening will let us explore our artistic side as we soak in the beautiful views, while sipping some world class wine, obv. After an included dinner it's time to keep the party alive in La Cave, our Château's exclusive party spot. Ready to show off your best moves?Accommodation: Château de Cruix (or similar)

Day 2
Beaujolais Wine RegionRise and shine Contiki crew! We'll brush off the cobwebs this morning with a guided hike through the gorgeous surrounding countryside (we know about a viewpoint that'll blow your mind). Then we'll keep the active lyf going back at the Château, where we can do a spot of yoga on the lawns, or play some petanque and volleyball. After a delicious picnic lunch, it's time for the pool party! In the evening, we'll enjoy a French feast, al-fresco. You could get used to this, couldn't you? The bar's open, of course, for anyone who wants to keep the evening going. It's a party weekender, after all. Treat yo'self.Accommodation: Château de Cruix (or similar)

We were lucky that the group of people with were good, but it was a large group tour and did have some of the downfalls of a trip of that nature, like frequent breaks for the bathroom, difficulty when eating out together, and getting things on and off the coach. The trip was still great and a good value for the money.
It was a good value and the experiences included were worth it. The only part that wasn't the best were the accommodations as it was hit and miss. Half of the hotels on the trip were okay, and the other half were really nice.
I had an amazing trip!
