    TOUR HIGHLIGHT
LEGENDARY LIVES Stand in awe and wonder amid one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements in the Sistine Chapel. Hear how in 1508, a young Michelangelo was commissioned by Pope Julius II to decorate the chapel’s ceiling – a request not welcomed by the 33-year-old sculptor. Michelangelo’s 4-year project was indeed one of physical pain and psychological distress, while painting from scaffolds high above the sanctuary floor. Nevertheless, he created what is considered the most famous ceiling in the world, depicting the Creation of Adam in striking fresco style.

    TOUR HIGHLIGHT
ICONIC FOOTSTEPS Walk in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi with a visit to the Basilica named after the deacon, friar, and mystic, who became one of the most venerated religious figures in Christianity. Revered for his love of the Eucharist and the Earth, Francis found communion with God through nature here in this Italian village where he lived and died. Marvel at the magnificent frescoes by Italian master Giotto that adorn the Basilica where the Saint is buried.

LOCAL TASTES They say aperitivo is life. Indulge in the Italian specialties served at Café Pedrocchi with a traditional cocktail before dinner. From the Latin word for ‘open,’ aperitivi cocktails or wine are served between 6 and 9pm as an opener to the evening meal. Alla salute!

    50 mi / 80 km

    TOUR HIGHLIGHT
HISTORIC SPOT Locals simply call Piazza San Marco “la piazza.” As paired with the smaller Piazzetta, it forms the social, religious, and political hub of Venice, which Napoleon called “the drawing room of Europe.” St. Mark’s Basilica dominates the square, offering visitors a spectacular view of the great arches, marble embellishments, and the Romanesque carvings of its façade. Also gracing the square is Doge’s Palace – a masterpiece of Venetian Gothic architecture. The enclosed Bridge of Sighs, connecting the palace with the prison, is named for the prisoners breathing in their last view of the Rio di Palazzo on their walk to the prison’s interrogation rooms.

Our Italian Vista 2022 tour was everything we expected! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about his country and every city/site we saw. It was also a relief not to worry about how we'd get around or transfer our luggage, all of that was taken care of. We packed so much into this 8 day tour it felt like a longer trip! It was such an amazing experience, we already want to book another one.

This trip could've have been rearranged a bit differently with less time in places like Verona and Assisi and more time in places like Florence and Lake Como

Excellent tour. The cities and towns we were in showed much diversity. The smaller towns were a nice break from the busy cities but I did enjoy Rome and Veince. Nice to not have to worry about driving but also your time may be limited when you would like more time at a location

I would have liked more time at Lake Como

Amazing trip!! From Nina's (customer service) help as we booked and prepared for the trip to Ingrid's (tour guide) expertise and attention to details, the trip was effortless and far beyond our overall expectations.

Thanks so much Affordable Tours....you guys were great!

First tour. Kept us moving at a pace we could not do on our own. Everything top notch and riding on the bus very comfortable

Amazing tension free tour. Very well planned and executed. Ornella was our Tour Director and we could not have asked for anything more. Me and my friends family - 4 Kids and 4 Adults travelled and we are vegetarians. Ornella made sure we got our veg food like we wanted and went over and above what is expected out of her. This is the first tour through an operator and I found my reliable partner for my travel. Excellent accommodation, great coach drivers and overall we have lot of fond memories to carry with us. The only issue is the Wifi in bus. That needs to be addressed by Global Tours.. Hi, but, when you are traveling why need a WIFI. that would be a distraction.. Thanks Ornella and Globus. Planning for the next one,, :)

My daughter and I had an amazing experience on our Italian Vista Tour. The motor coach and accommodations were excellent. Our itinerary and excursions were well planned and showed us the many sides of the country. Our tour director was exceptional!

The trip was fabulous and the guide and driver were great. Most of the hotels were good except for the one in Assisi. In my opinion, this was below what is expected of a Globus tour.

We loved this tour. We were so happy with all the destinations. The tour director was amazing and so knowledgeable. We loved it. Would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.

The Umbria & Tuscana are beautiful to visit with plenty of history and memorable places. It would be nice to have extra days like in Siena. Also the town of Pafova was like a hub to go other places. We did not have the time to explore the old town. The hotels in Rome were very well-located except Hotel Albsni.

The tour basically provided only half day sightseeing and ends in early afternoon. I don't like to pay extra for optional excursion in order to see more in each city. The optional excursions are expensive and too short and didn't worth the money. I expect a guided tour should last at least before dinner time so it provides more sightseeing opportunities. For example, we traveled hours to get to Florence and the sightseeing tour was only about 3-4 hours; then we took off on the road for hours to get to another city to join an optional tour for happy hours in Padua. We could have longer hours in Florence and get us to Padua at later time. Additionally, for those who didn't join the optional excursion, we were sent back to hotels by mid-afternoon. The tour should provide transportation for those who would like to stay behind for more sightseeing. For example, the tour director can set a meeting time and place (e.g. 8 pm at a certain eatery places) to give us a ride back to hotel. Most of the hotels are away from the major tourist attractions. It's hard for us to go back to hotels by ourselves. There were several seniors or solo travelers got stuck in hotels and wasted time that could have been used to explore the cities.

One hotel in padua was awful-old, dirty and tired.

Except for Milan hotels were not up to Globus standsrds because of location and/or amenities

This is my first experience overseas, and had reservations about tours, but it a very good experience and would recommend a tour to anyone . thanks. had a great time. Memories for a life time.

Trip met all our expectations and exceeded a similar style of trip we took two years ago with another operator.

Our tour guide and local guides were exceptional! The trip itself was a wonderful experience, but the guides really added to it! They were pleasant, extremely knowledgeable, and professional! We could not have had a better experience with Globus!

Overall, we truly enjoyed ourselves. The accommodations actually exceeded my expectations in many ways. Thank you for all the hard work you all do.
