Rolling hills and rugged coastlines, mythical creatures, and elusive monsters, quiet fairways, and boisterous bagpipes, this tour of Scotland is a study in stark contrasts among the most beautiful of classrooms. Hitting the highpoints of the Highlands from Glasgow to Edinburgh, you’ll cruise on beautiful Loch Lomond, ferry to the dramatic Isle of Skye, and visit the home of golf, St. Andrews. More lush landscapes await as you search for the mysterious Nessie along the banks of Loch Ness, stand before the famous Glenfinnan viaduct featured in the Harry Potter films, and swoon over the 13th-century Eilean Donan Castle nestled on a tidal island and featured in numerous films. If green means go, you have the go-ahead to pack your tams, tartans, and knickers for vibrant and verdant Scotland. How about a trip on the Thames before you cross the pond? Add a 3-night extension to London to your tour of Scotland and let an express train whisk you from Edinburgh to the palaces, pubs, and pints that await. Raise a glass to guided sightseeing and ample time on your own for personal pursuits.

We were underwhelmed with the Hotel on Isle of Skye and our room in at the Mercure in Edinburgh was so small that we had to walk sideways to get to the bed and how no room for our luggage so we had to put on the desk in the room and on the floor under the desk.

Our trip to Scotland had good points and low points. We were disappointed with Isle of Skye in that Globus did not stop at Old Man of Storr, or nearby waterfalls, etc. Instead the bus tour crossed the Isle with no stops that was barren, desolate, and a waste of time. Starting the tour from Glasgow was a waste of time in that there was not much to see there. Just a large city. Aberdeen wasn't that great. The castle stops were very good. The tour was basically covering as much ground as possible, "seeing" Scotland but with not really interesting stops. The extension to London included all day tours that was contracted out to Premium Tours, resulting in cab fares to get to the bus station and back. An unexpected headache. We did tour Buckingham Palace, Windsor Palace, Stonehenge, and Bath, which were all good.
