Question: Is the luggage handled and taken to and from the bus and room? Heard you need to request a scenic view room at the different hotels? Also saw in reviews the Jasper hotel needs renovating?
Question: Is there online information about the optional excursions on the Great Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Tour? We are taking this tour starting September 6.
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
Great trip but wish we had better weather. Jennifer, tour director was very thorough and informative. Lodging was top shelf. Abundant food at Hugh quality. Canadian Rockies amazing!
Everything about this tour met or exceeded our expectations.
Was a wonderful trip, but the accommodations in Jasper need to improve.
There was a problem with WestJet. We had a problem right off the bat at Richmond Airport. Delta wouldn't give us boarding passes because they said that WestJet had made a change and they didn't give Delta the correct paperwork on the computer. There were long phone calls to WestJet from me and the Delta agent trying to get it sorted out--WestJet said they had not made a change. Eventually it was fixed, after a supervisor got involved. But it was stressful for us. Also, I called the night before the Richmond departure to confirm the flight and was confused because my itinerary said all the flights and flight numbers were WestJet, but the agent gave me different flight numbers for the Delta segments, which was confusing to me. As for the accommodations, I was surprised not to get accommodations with a lake view at Lake Louise, and a mountain view at Banff Hotel. Our first night at Banff was spent at ground level in the new wing with a view of the parking garage. Our Globus guide managed to change our room the second night to one in the older part of the hotel with a great view, which was my preference. Otherwise, this would have spoiled my trip as the historic Banff hotel was THE most important part of the trip for me, which is why I booked a resorts tour (otherwise it would might just have been a Canadian rockies tour.) It's like the hotels gave us whatever rooms were available, without any preference given the tour operator's group (our group was split up all over the hotel). We wished a second night was built into the Lake Louise stay. Otherwise, the trip was wonderful and our Globus guide was fantastic.
I met several people on the tour who have travelled with Globus previously and have been pleased. While our tour director was very knowledgable. he lacked appearance and organization. It seems we were constantly asking about times for dinner and where it was to be. He also reeked of tobacco, and dressed sloppily. I understand this was his last tour with Globus in the Canadian Rockies, so maybe it won't make a difference. He did have extensive knowledge of the area but lacked people skills. As for the Globus booklet there were some shortcomings, specifically in fully explaining the optional tours and what days they were on. We had some concern on the final tour for dinner at Beckers and a bus ride to spot wildlife when the driver pulled off into a secluded area to show us bones and antlers. It almost seemed like a hijacking. Unsettling.
Jasper Park Lodge was not up to, what I consider Fairmont Standards. Furniture was worn, no robe in room, no stationery. More like Motel 6
Trip was great!
