Best trip with Globus!
California Classics with Globus was everything I hoped it would be. The tour director was top notch. He made each of us feel that we were important to him and did his best to accommodate us. He could answer just about any question we had and kept us informed and entertained on the bus, while still giving us time to just relax and watch the scenery. The hotels were very comfortable, all downtown in San Francisco, Monterey, and LA. The hotel in Solvang was a treat. Best staff, and the town itself is interesting. We happened to be there during Danish Days, the third week in September. The hotel just outside of Yosemite had a lovely stream running behind it, with balconies overlooking it. The pacing was perfect for me. Not too much dead time, but enough time to relax and rest up for the next adventure. There was only one optional excursion because everything else was included. Entrance tickets to the Getty Museum, narrated tram ride through the floor of Yosemite National Park, behind the scenes tour of the Monterey Aquarium, for some examples. The two included dinners were excellent, and I particularly liked strolling down Rodeo Drive after dinner.
Globus exceeded my expectations!
The trip was enjoyable, made more so by an excellent tour director and skilled bus driver. My only complaints were with the quality of the motel at Yosemite, and the lack of sufficient time for several of the locations visited such as Sausalito.
The tour was nicely paced and tour director was great. We did have to make some changes because of fleet week in San Francisco and not being able to Big Sur. Tour director handled all changes and made our trip great with other special additions. The biggest fire in California was present at the time of our tour. We never felt any danger and bus driver and tour guide were very calm about the whole situation. Great bus driver! Everything on our tour is a must see. We enjoyed it very much.
The most disappointing of this trip was the BUGS I found in 2 different places. One was Yosemite Park and the other at the LA hotel in LA in my BED both incidents were reported to both of those hotels as well as to the Tour Director at the Park I was offered another room but couldn't stay alone so I said no I didn't want to be alone as I have a terrible fear of bugs and rodents and the manager said to notify the Tour Director about my being reimburse for 1 night which I did and he also said to Notify Affordable Tours As for the LA Hotel I was there for 2 nights and only noticed them the 2nd day which I am very nervous about as they could be in my luggage which I cannot bring into my home and go through that will have to be done outside.
The Globus tour met my expectations. Every site our Globus bus stopped at was first class and beautiful. The hotels, Marriott Marquis, The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel, Hyatt Regency Monterey, Hilton Garden Inn Pismo Beach, and the LA Hotel Downtown were first class and lovely. The Yosemite View Lodge needs some updating. The beds were uncomfortable, the bathroom towels need updated, and the kitchen area needs paper towels, and more facilities for making coffee and cooking.
TOUR DRIVER WERE EXCELLENT
