DAY 3, Monday - Copenhagen, Frederiksborg Castle, Tivoli Gardens
Get acquainted with Copenhagen today as you embark on a tour of the city. Begin with a visit to the Royal Reception rooms in Christiansborg Palace, the seat of the Danish Parliament, Prime Minister's Office, and Supreme Court. View the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum, the National Museum, the colorful 17th century harbor district of Nyhavn, and Amalienborg Palace, the winter residence of the Danish royal family and the site of the changing of the Guard. Conclude the tour with a visit to the iconic Little Mermaid statue by Edvard Eriksen. In the afternoon, visit the impressive Frederiksborg Castle. During the city tour, admire the beautifully preserved medieval architecture, as you stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets with charming half-timber houses. After a typical lunch of Danish specialties at a local restaurant, continue your drive. Make a stop at the quaint German town of Flensburg for free time. On to the Baroque style St. Michael's Church, and the impressive Town Hall built in the early 1800s. Next, take a harbor cruise and experience the distinctive maritime flair of the Hamburg Port. Then, head to Speicherstadt, a historic warehouse district and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the narrow alleyways and bridges, admiring the intricate neo-Gothic and Gothic Revival architecture. Next, make your way to the crown jewel of Hamburg's modern skyline the Elbphilharmonie. Depart Hamburg and head to the city of Lubeck, former capital of the mighty Hanseatic League that served as the trade hub of Northern Europe. Today, the picturesque town is a jewel of Brick Gothic architecture, full of medieval charm and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin the tour at Holstentor gate, the city's most famous landmark, guarding the entrance to the Old Town. Proceed to the historic Altstadt (Old Town) and walk along cobbled streets with rows of Renaissance gabled houses. Admire St. Mary's church, a 13th-14th century structure, that served as a model for the Gothic brick style of churches around the Baltic region. Begin with a visit a brewery to gain insight into Belgium's brewing traditions and sample some delicious Belgian beers. Afterward, enjoy a river cruise and learn about the city's history. View the 7th century St Bavo's Cathedral, the Belfry of Ghent, and St Nicholas Church. Admire the majestic guildhalls and the medieval Castle of the Counts

DAY 10, Monday - Gravensteen Castle
Head to the heart of Ghent's Old Town, to visit the medieval Gravensteen Castle (Castle of the Counts). The fortress dating from 1180, features thick stone walls, a moat, crenellated towers, and a history filled with intrigue and torture. After join the optional half day tour to Bruges, also known as the "Venice of the North" and home to some of Europe's best preserved medieval buildings. The tour takes you first to view the Lake of Love (Minnewater), and the Beguinage convent. Then, embark on a walking tour of the city's medieval district, where you will visit Our Lady's Church, home of the famous Madonna statue by Michelangelo.     This was an amazing trip. It exceeded my expectations. I loved it. My tour guide did an excellent job. She made sure to assist us even late in the evening with tickets as we are still in Japan and not leaving until two after the tour. She surprised us with unexpected, unplanned experiences for all to enjoy. I loved her. We really had so much fun even though there older tourists with different personalities she went beyond the call of duty to understand and have patience with them. I will definitely book a future tour with Gate1.
