There’s no better way to embrace the area’s heritage than to join a Choice Experience and chug between Haverthwaite and Lakeside in an old-world steam train followed by a cruise on Lake Windermere. Crossing the Scottish border, you’ll stop at Gretna Green, where eloping couples would exchange their vows over the Blacksmith’s anvil and be bound to each other forever. Question: How much walking is required per day?
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
I was pleased to see the sights, the bus was clean, and the staff was professional. However, the amount of time sitting on the bus was too long. Some city stops were too short for example at St. Andrews Jason our guide pointed to the Abby as a nice place to see but you wont have time because we were only in town 45 minutes. That isn't enough time to eat, use restrooms and see anything more than the original patch of grass of golf course. Other cities like Brandon was used as our final city and it is in the roughest part of town we couldn't even walk to find a restaurant. The people and surroundings were dangerous. At least (2) of the hotels did not have dinner for us and we are tired, waiting for our luggage, dont know the area it was more than stressful. The hotels said that other bus tours reserve ahead of time. We were also told that room service is not an option wasnt enough food or staff.
I found this tour to be an excellent value for the money. Our Tour Director and driver were both outstanding and really added to the experience!
The tour was absolutely wonderful and crammed full of exciting experiences. The first 2 days in London were terrible though, and I have no idea why I had to be stuck in that miserable city for 2 full days before the tour even began.

This was my first vacation on a bus tour. Therefore, I am comparing my experience against several trips in Europe I have taken with a car. Overall I would give the trip a letter grade of C, with some items an F and a couple an A. The overall grade of D would be for the accommodations, length of time spend in transit on the bus, and general expectations of the tour based on the descriptions provided. Accommodations: The IBIS hotels were given a grade of F. The rooms, restaurants, and service staff were terrible. Some hotels were as expected (Hilton in London and the one in Edinburgh) and given a grade of C, and two of the country inn were given an A. The bus travel was not what was expected. First the bus was 90 minutes late on the first day due to mechanical issue, so this put the first day of travel behind schedule and things were rushed. We should have realized that the distance to be traveled was long, so the hours upon hours of bus travel were necessary. However, this made the trip very uncomfortable and took the enjoyment away from the over all experience. The bus experienced mechanical issues on the next to the last day of the trip and then had a mechanical breakdown on the road during last day of the trip causing a 2 hour roadside stop to have another bus delivered. Knowing that the bus had the potential of breakdown on the next to last day, a new bus should have been delivered overnight to the hotel in Bradford. We arrived a day early so we could see more of England that was not to be seen on the tour. On the first day of the tour it stated we were to VISIT Windsor Castle. Expecting to have the time to actually visit the castle, including an inside tour, we did not visit it on our own. When we arrived, we were told we did not have the time to tour the inside of the castle, so we just stayed outside. Had we known this we would have visited the castle on our own prior to the tour. This as a BIG disappointment. We took all but one additional tour, and found that experience to be good, and would give it a grade of B. Our tour director, Andrew, was very good and very knowledgeable. Our bus driver Jamie was extremely helpful and an excellent driver.
