Let centuries-old architecture inspire you, fall in love with the beauty of the Lake District and engage with the best of Britain when you visit Bath, York, Edinburgh and Glasgow, topping it all off with a leisurely stroll in the footsteps of the golfing gods at St. Andrews.

  1. Day 1
    Arrive London
Begin and end your journey back in time on the busy streets of London. After check-in, you have the rest of the day to explore this multicultural city your way. March to the tune of God Save the King as you embrace all the pomp and pageantry of Britain's capital. Delve into London's royal heritage, stroll along the Thames or admire treasures from across the globe in one of its museums before retiring to your neighborhood 'local' for a pint or two.Accommodation: Holiday Inn Brentford Lock.
  2. Day 2
    London free day
What a treat! A full free day to explore all the surprises London has to offer in preparation for your epic adventure across England and Scotland. 3. Day 3
    London – Windsor – Bath – Cardiff
This morning, meet your Travel Director and travel companions. The British capital won't keep you from your exploration of the island's colorful history. This morning you'll travel west for a memorable encounter with royalty and the Roman Empire. Start the day with a visit to Windsor, home to the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, then continue to UNESCO-listed Bath. View the city's beautiful Georgian façades before continuing to Cardiff for your overnight stay.Accommodation: Copthorne

  4. Day 4
    Cardiff – Chester – Liverpool
The Romans left their magic touch on the pretty town of Chester. You’ll view the city walls that they built in the first century to defend their fortress and the black and white half-timbered buildings, famously known as 'The Rows'. Take some time to explore Chester your way or join an Optional Experience to Llangollen in North Wales. Home of the International Eisteddfod, Llangollen has a tiny population but punches well above its weight when it comes to serene scenery and an array of cafés, bars and restaurants. Our home for the night is the haunt of the 'Fab Four', with an evening at leisure to explore Liverpool’s legendary nightlife.Accommodation: Ibis Albert Dock
    Meals:   Breakfast
  5. Day 5
Liverpool – Lake District – Gretna Green – Glasgow
Settle in for a scenic drive north to the Lake District. Here you’ll see first-hand why the rugged and untamed beauty of the Lake District inspired William Wordsworth to wander 'lonely as a cloud' in his acclaimed piece of poetry, 'Daffodils'. There’s no better way to embrace the area’s heritage than to join an Optional Experience and chug between Haverthwaite and Lakeside in an old-world steam train followed by a cruise on Lake Windermere. Crossing the Scottish border, you’ll stop at Gretna Green, where eloping couples would exchange their vows over the Blacksmith’s anvil and be bound to each other forever. Resist the urge to tie the knot yourself and continue to the bold city of Glasgow, where you’ll have an opportunity to join an Optional Experience for a night on the "toon".Accommodation: Ibis City Center
    Meals:   Breakfast
  6. Day 6
    Glasgow – Scottish Highlands
Kickstart your day with an introduction to Glasgow’s industrial past and modern revival that has given the city its characteristic gallus strut. Channel your inner Highlander next, embarking on a journey north to the banks of Loch Lomond, where a cruise to Rob Roy’s cave could be on the cards should you choose to join this Optional Experience. Later, the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of Glencoe, 'Glen of Weeping', will stir all your emotions – not least as you remember the brave clansmen who fought relentlessly for their beliefs. Local shepherd Neil and his enthusiastic border collies are ready to welcome guests on their Highland sheep farm for an Optional Experience this afternoon. You can perfect your sheep-shearing skills before settling into your Highland hotel.Accommodation: Laggan
    Meals:   Breakfast   Dinner
  7. Day 7
Scottish Highlands – St. Andrews – Edinburgh
Robert Burns once wrote of his beloved hills of the Highlands. Your scenic drive through its mystical landscapes will leave you similarly inspired as you venture to picturesque Pitlochry on the banks of the Tummel. There’s time to explore this salmon fishing center on your own or join an Optional Experience to Blair Castle, home of the Duke of Atholl and Europe's last remaining private army. The fairways and greens of St. Andrews, the birthplace of golf, beckon and you’ll have an opportunity to snap a selfie against the backdrop of the famous 18th green.Accommodation: Moxy Edinburgh Airport
    Meals:   Breakfast

The Georgian New Town, Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle all wait to be viewed in the company of your Local Specialist, so grab your camera and prepare for a memorable sightseeing tour revealing all the highlights of Auld Reekie. 9. Day 9
    Edinburgh – York – Bradford
Cheerio the noo and wave goodbye to Scotland. It’s time to venture south on your return journey through England to London, but not before you come face-to-face with Hadrian’s first-century attempt to keep the ‘barbarians’ out of his Roman Empire. You’ll not see an ancient Roman wall like it anywhere else on earth. Continue to the walled city of York, where an orientation tour will guide you through its narrow medieval streets to the 13th-century Gothic cathedral, York Minster, which dominates the city. You’ll have some time to admire the structure’s beautiful stained glass before an evening on your own, although York’s alluring history may keep you on the edge of your seat. This was my first vacation on a bus tour. Therefore, I am comparing my experience against several trips in Europe I have taken with a car. Overall I would give the trip a letter grade of C, with some items an F and a couple an A. The overall grade of D would be for the accommodations, length of time spend in transit on the bus, and general expectations of the tour based on the descriptions provided. Accommodations: The IBIS hotels were given a grade of F. The rooms, restaurants, and service staff were terrible. Some hotels were as expected (Hilton in London and the one in Edinburgh) and given a grade of C, and two of the country inn were given an A. The bus travel was not what was expected. First the bus was 90 minutes late on the first day due to mechanical issue, so this put the first day of travel behind schedule and things were rushed. We should have realized that the distance to be traveled was long, so the hours upon hours of bus travel were necessary. However, this made the trip very uncomfortable and took the enjoyment away from the over all experience. The bus experienced mechanical issues on the next to the last day of the trip and then had a mechanical breakdown on the road during last day of the trip causing a 2 hour roadside stop to have another bus delivered. Knowing that the bus had the potential of breakdown on the next to last day, a new bus should have been delivered overnight to the hotel in Bradford. We arrived a day early so we could see more of England that was not to be seen on the tour. On the first day of the tour it stated we were to VISIT Windsor Castle. Expecting to have the time to actually visit the castle, including an inside tour, we did not visit it on our own. When we arrived, we were told we did not have the time to tour the inside of the castle, so we just stayed outside. Had we known this we would have visited the castle on our own prior to the tour. This as a BIG disappointment. We took all but one additional tour, and found that experience to be good, and would give it a grade of B. Our tour director, Andrew, was very good and very knowledgeable. Our bus driver Jamie was extremely helpful and an excellent driver.

I was pleased to see the sights, the bus was clean, and the staff was professional. However, the amount of time sitting on the bus was too long. Some city stops were too short for example at St. Andrews Jason our guide pointed to the Abby as a nice place to see but you wont have time because we were only in town 45 minutes. That isn't enough time to eat, use restrooms and see anything more than the original patch of grass of golf course. Other cities like Brandon was used as our final city and it is in the roughest part of town we couldn't even walk to find a restaurant. The people and surroundings were dangerous. At least (2) of the hotels did not have dinner for us and we are tired, waiting for our luggage, dont know the area it was more than stressful. The hotels said that other bus tours reserve ahead of time. We were also told that room service is not an option wasnt enough food or staff.

I found this tour to be an excellent value for the money. Our Tour Director and driver were both outstanding and really added to the experience!

The tour was absolutely wonderful and crammed full of exciting experiences. The first 2 days in London were terrible though, and I have no idea why I had to be stuck in that miserable city for 2 full days before the tour even began.
