This enlightening tour through the great cities of New England and Eastern Canada – including a 7-night cruise – is the ultimate hands-on field trip to discover North America. Explore the revolutionary city of Boston, the exhilarating White Mountains of New Hampshire, and an idyllic maple syrup farm in Montpelier Vermont before the sweet experience of cruising through Eastern Canada’s most scenic cities, straits, and sounds. Sail through the greatest chapters of the past aboard a Holland America cruise ship, including the lighthouse-lined St. Lawrence River, the French-infused cities of Montréal and Québec, the green and Gaelic Cape Breton Island, and the pleasing provincial capital cities of Charlottetown and Halifax, where walkable Victorian streets await. Cruising through centuries of history, this East Coast tour perfectly balances learning and laughter with one last recess in Portland, Maine’s seaside summer resort town.

Questions & Answers Ask A Question
Question: do any of your quotes include airfare?
Question: I have very restrictive dietary needs. Could you tell me whether all meals on the ship are sit down or is there a buffet option?
Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
Since this Globus trip included a cruise, I was disappointed and frustrated with the difficulty that I and others incurred in finding a Cruise booking number from Holland America so that excursions and other information could be found. Since this was a Globus trip, it seems a part of Globus' responsibility.
I would have skipped the land tour. We "drove by" many interesting places and our guide said when we return those would be good places to visit. There were several people from one particular state and the guide catered to them the entire trip. She was not friendly to the rest of us. Never spoke when getting on or off the bus. Probably never knew my name.
The resort on the last night of the land portion of this trip was not conducive for older travelers. Climbing the narrow stairs with carry on luggage was difficult for a healthy person. Additionally, individuals on the top floor had to be careful hitting the dormer ceilings.
I enjoyed all of the locations we stayed at. My only suggestion would be: the Basin Harbor Resort is a lovely place, but for elderly people the lack of elevators is a drawback. The steep stairs are a killer. Otherwise the service there was wonderful!
Accommodations were good except for Basin Harbor Club. Facilities are old, creaky, smelly, unsafe stairways and outdoors smelled like a barnyard. We were supposed to have 2 beds and the room had one. With the help of the tour guide we got a different room in a newer building.
The Globus Tour was good as well as their tour guide; the Holland American Line was good except I think they could delete the Sydney, Canada spot. Nothing going on there, would prefer and addt'l day in either Quebec City, Halifax or Bar Harbor (although our ship didn't make this stop because of weather).
Beautiful scenery! Sometimes, though, the tour director would miss pointing out things until we were past them.
