Question: How many suitcases can I take with me on my trip?
Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
We had a wonderful experience in Africa with our Globus tour. Luke did a great job in booking our tour, flight arrangements, securing our travel insurance, and answering our questions. I made a previous trip with Globus which was also booked with Affordable Tours and all went well. We flew Ethiopian Airlines from Stockholm to Cape Town. The passenger area of the plane is aging and the seats were uncomfortable. The airline staff was good however.
James provided excellent information and he followed up quickly resolving all my questions!
Globus changed one of our lodgings to Moditlo Lodge. While the drives offered were excellent, they didn't offer a bush walk which we were supposed to have at Kapama Lodge. We also felt that the accomodations were not as nice as Kapama and the swimming pool at Moditlo was disgusting. No one would go in it. Also, we were not offered all the choices for excursions on Globus that were available. Sometimes we were told that there was this or nothing as we were in Johannesburg (a cave excursion) and Moditlo Lodge (a second rehabilitation center). Finally, we booked a Robben Island optional tour with Globus in advance and prepaid. We received the voucher from our tour guide and were told we had to provide our own transportation to the ferry. We have traveled worldwide and have never had to provide our own transportation when we have booked an optional tour.
This trip was even better than expected.
Wonderful tour! Long flight and internal flight storage but the safari rides provide the chance to see nature up close and personal--an elephant greeted me by flicking mud on my forehead, saw a pride of lions devour a recent kill, giraffes running free, zebras, rhino, the king of the jungle napping after a long night prowling the bush. Love it all, especially the elephant ride in Zimbabwe. One also learned so much about life/economics in South Africa and Zimbabwe.
We visited Cape Town, Johannesburg, Kapama Private Game Reserve and Victoria Falls. The trip as a whole was above my expectations. Especially the 6 game drives. Amazing!
This trip was probably the best tour we have ever taken. Will book with Globus again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Africa and would love to go again. I will highly recommend this tour to my friends and family. The hotels, meals, tours, and excursions were awesome!! The location of hotels that Globus uses was great as it was close to everything! It was a very amazing memorable trip!
I extended our stay and had asked to be able to move our last flight several days later in order to accommodate our extended stay but was told that I would not be able to do this. This was disappointing, especially since Globus states that they are very flexible and wanting to allow its customers to 'build their own tours'.
Globus should mention that customers who have asthma should bring a dust mask to wear on safaris. It never crossed my mind and I had a bad asthma attack after the second trip. I borrowed a mask after that, but was only able to go on one more ( of the 6 ) safaris. Forewarned of the dust and the length of the safaris, I would have brought better protection.

On the game drives we did not have trackers as described in the brochure. The driver served both roles which I think did deter some grime the experience
