Question: Is Airfare Included in the Price?
Our tour director was very knowledgeable and managed the tour very well.
This was an exceptional tour of ancient Greece and the 7-day island cruise. Both the land and cruise Globus tour directors were knowledgeable, personable, accommodating to passenger needs, full of energy, and exhibited a wonderful sense of humor which made the trip FUN! The only negative would be that from the time time we booked the tour there was basically no information or details imparted us regarding the cruise portion of the trip. We couldn't budget until we started the cruise.
The land part of this trip was very good. It would have been helpful if Globus had disclosed the time spent on the bus traveling from place to place. Some of the bus travel was excessive. Further, the olive-wine stop was very disappointing, and I for one do not like the inclusion of shopping stops on my travel itinerary. Regarding the cruise: The food was excellent, and the accommodations were fine. But the crowding was horrible both on the boat and on the excursions. The stops at Rhodes and Santorini could only resemble the New York or Tokyo subways during rush hour, replete with pushing and shoving by rude tourists mostly from other countries. I would NOT recommend this cruise. The guides and tour directors were excellent.
A reconsideration for the optional excursions to include the local community and their heritage, for example, a Turkish Bath, or dining at a local restaurant. Some of the excursions were not worth the money charged. Some of the free time should be extended a little longer, instead of 45 minutes perhaps an hour and 45 minutes in towns that are populated and active not closed for the afternoon or deserted. There should have been a longer time in Turkey instead of four hours. Wyndham Hotel should be eliminated from the place to stay. Yes, the view was beautiful, but the staff was rude, the service was slow, the pool area was only cleaned at night and not constantly maintained during the day. We had to locate a waitstaff member for additional pool towels, food service etc.,this should not have happened. When we arrived our bags were not delivered in a proper amount of time and we then had to get them ourselves after waiting 45 minutes when they said they would bring them up immediately. Even if someone arrives early or extends their tour, Globus should still provide travel to and from the airport at no charge. Also, if you are connecting two or three tours together Globus should also provide free transportation.
The itinerary was exactly as represented in the printed material, and the price was comparable to what others had paid for their trips, ans sometimes less. The quality of all hotels was tip-top, except for the fact of having no washcloths and no plugs for hair dryers or curling irons in bathrooms. Food everywhere was exceptional. Friends who had taken other tours agreed about the excellent quality of the food. All hotel workers in all hotels and on the ship were more than helpful...we never wanted for assistance with anything.
This particular trip was everything I had hoped for. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful.
Great trip love it all can't see so much on your own
I was informed of a few optional excursions well in advance of the trip, then informed of additional optional excursions near date of departure. When our trip leader on the cruise ship spoke with us, he informed us of our optional excursions which omitted some of them. I did go to the excursion to Delos for 74 Euros. It was definitely not worth the cost - for 30 Euros it would be acceptable. The included excursion to Oia on the island of Santorini was not an excursion at all. Our leader took us there and dropped us off to go shopping for the next two hours. Thant is NOT an excursion. 45 people on the land portion is way too many. I was never informed of the number of people in advance. After a while most of us were getting tired of seeing ruins and museums although some of them were worth seeing. Just needed more variety. I expected more of a tour on the islands - instead we were dropped off to go shopping or could find our own way around to go to various places if we wanted.
I was not happy with the driver. He was very picky to give water bottle of the day. Even hot days ,we got only one water bottle and he gave it at the end of the day. Very sad.
Last day of tour is a non event day, visit to Sales studio and stop at roadside monument (5 minutes)
a wonderful trip, thorough and well guided; saw everything and more.
Hotel in Athens not centerally located. Sunday tour cut short at 1 . Could have filled day with another site.
Loved it. But next time I do not want to take 3 flights to get there or back.
Excellent guided tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with a well-informed guide and a nicely paced and interesting itinerary. Relatively rigorous with climbing amongst ruins to see several sites.
Every aspect of the tour was wonderful. The guide, hotels, meals and fellow travelers couldn't have been nicer. Our tour guide gave an exceptionally beautiful experience. Her great love for her country shine. I hope other people will have the good fortune to meet her.
Globus was great as I knew it would be based on my prior experience in Spain.
Globus performed adequately. Some of the hotels were a bit basic, or their features a bit basic, but they were the nicest hotels available in the areas, so I think this is just a factor of how Greece is. In Athens, I think the hotel could have been nicer. I Also think the day in Athens (day 2) could have been a bit more than just dropping people off. A guided tour of mor than the Parthanon would have been a good option, as that only took until 1pm. Understand that everyone wants to see different things, but open itinerary from 1pm - whenever was a bit of a low-guided day.
This was by far my WORSE tour EVER!!!!
Everything was excellent. Travel agent was very helpful. All connections were on time with no major delays. Experience in Greece was fantastic. Tour guide was fabulous in Greece!!!!
It has been positive experience for me to take Globus tours for the last 4 trips.
The Classic Greece Tour, May 10-18 was terrific. The size of the group was just right, our tour director was very informative and pleasant ande our driver was magnificent. The Amalia hotels were much better than I expected and, even though you don\'t control the weather, it was beautiful.
